Chapter 283: Dormammu: Naive!

Author: Great Demon Spirit

"If you have something to say, just say it. I'm not drinking that damned stuff of yours!" Dormammu snorted coldly. "Are you trying to learn Lord Dormammu's powerful Dark Magic? Just find a way to break the Contract between us, and I'll teach you my strongest Magic."

Tony glanced at Dormammu as if he were looking at an idiot but didn't offer any cutting remarks.

That one casual glance was more hurtful than a thousand words. At the very least, it thoroughly provoked Dormammu.

"Dormammu, we might be running out of time." Just as Dormammu was about to curse, Tony spoke in a low, somber voice.

This single sentence stifled the curses rising in Dormammu's chest.

Before Dormammu could ask, Tony poured himself a cup of tea and said, "Doomsday is coming."

"Doomsday? The Kryptonians' Doomsday?" Dormammu pondered for a moment, then burst out laughing. "That beast is coming to Earth? I see, you're at your wit's end and want to seek help from the great Lord Dormammu! You fledgling Sorcerer Supreme, without me, you have no chance of fighting that thing."

"Idiot..." Tony's tone was somber as he watched the bragging Dormammu with mockery, enunciating each word. "The Doomsday I'm talking about is the Doomsday from the Primordial Era, that Undying and Indestructible Monster, the one that destroyed countless Universes. Not the Defective Variant born in various Universes! That thing is currently on a rampage in a neighboring Universe!"

Dormammu's laughter died abruptly. He twisted his head, his large, bell-like eyes staring fixedly at Tony.

The Doomsday from the Primordial Era—to this day, there is only one. It rampages through the Multiverse, unstoppable. The true Doomsday: kill it once, it will resurrect, immune to the attack that killed it, and become even stronger.

That Doomsday is unaffected by Speedsters; it is a Quasi-Unique Being.

Heaven knows how the Kryptonians of an ancient Universe managed to create a Doomsday of this caliber. Perhaps it was a Multiverse being at birth, but as its strength grew, it gradually approached being Unique.

The reason it's called a Quasi-Unique Being is that Doomsdays with the same Gene and Soul still appear in various Universes. However, a Quasi-Unique Doomsday that has reached the peak of Level Eight can already immunize itself against most of the damage from the Temporal Correction Force after a Timeline reset.

A Multiverse being would be erased by a reset Timeline, but the Quasi-Unique Doomsday would not. At most, its vital energy would be severely depleted, and it would be gravely injured.

"If it were any other enemy, no matter how bad things got, I wouldn't be this worried. At worst, I could risk it all with the Time Stone, or find some Speedsters for Time Manipulation, create a Parallel Universe, and shunt the damned enemy into it," Tony said in a deep voice. "But how do you deal with that Unique Doomsday? Altering the Timeline is useless against that beast. It'll just keep destroying things regardless."

The fundamental characteristic of a Unique Being is ignoring Time Resets. No matter how time changes, they themselves remain unchanged. The reason Multiverse beings are said to be fragile is precisely their inability to resist changes to the Timeline.

This is especially true when facing a reckless, crazed Speedster who disregards the consequences.

If you really push an enemy to the brink—for instance, a non-Speedster forcing a Speedster to alter the Timeline—the non-Speedster will be erased by the Temporal Correction Force.

Even a Multiverse Speedster could have their existence erased if they aren't careful.

In a way, Unique Beings hold a natural, overwhelming advantage over Multiverse beings.

It has nothing to do with the strength of their talent or power; the very foundation of their existence and life characteristics determine whether their path forward is crooked or straight.

It's too difficult for a Multiverse being to grow. Someone else could just flick a finger, and the Multiverse being would suffer as an innocent bystander, inexplicably erased from the Timeline—no memory, no Soul, their entire person completely non-existent in the past and future.

No one else would have any memory of the person who was erased either.

It's a profound tragedy.

Of course, Tony doesn't have to worry about being erased from the Timeline. He isn't afraid of Timeline alterations in the least, because he possesses the Unique Item, the "Allspark," which is powerful enough to forcibly stabilize his existence and allow him to ignore any changes to the Timeline.

As long as the Universe doesn't collapse, as long as the world still exists, Tony will live on safely.

But damn it, the appearance of Doomsday is something that can directly destroy the Universe.

"I originally thought that as long as I took care of you, Earth would be safe for a while... Heh, who would have thought troublesome enemies would come one after another? First, Mr. Mxyzptlk, and now the even more troublesome and unsolvable Doomsday." Tony sighed. He had no idea how the Ancient One had managed to hold this position for so many years.

"What do you care? Maybe by the time Doomsday reaches this Universe, you'll have already died of old age. You say it's approaching, but it could easily take a few million years. The Power of Time is different in every Universe," Dormammu snorted.

That wasn't wrong. Tony really wasn't confident he could live that long. He might die of old age, or perish midway through some major event.

Tony chuckled, at a loss for words. "Do you dare to bet? Bet that Doomsday will arrive in a few million years, and not in the next second?"

Dormammu fell silent.

Tony continued speaking to himself, "Even if it really does arrive in a few million years and I'm dead, you'll likely still be alive. What if you've regained control of the Dark Dimension? With an endless lifespan, all of us annoying people will be dead, and you'll face Doomsday alone... Tsk, tsk, tsk, what a scene. The great villain Dormammu becomes the Universe's last hope..."

Dormammu's soul-body fluctuated slightly, radiating agitated emotions.

That was indeed a terrible outcome.

A major drawback of merging with the Dark Dimension was being confined to it for life, unable to leave. Ninety percent of his strength depended on the Dark Dimension.

If Doomsday arrived, even a hundred Dark Dimensions would have to kneel.

If the Universe were destroyed, he, Dormammu, would surely die too.
