Chapter 318: The Destroyer, The Thirteen Primes
2022-10-19 By: Great Demon Spirit
"Hehehe, a mere War Puppet could never be Tony's opponent."
Dormammu stood beside Thor, yet showed no sign of worry at all. He gazed indifferently at the sky; even though his heart was filled with jealousy and frustration over Tony's rapidly growing strength, what he displayed was complete confidence. Even if he secretly wished Tony would be beaten to death and cheered loudly for it, he spoke with absolute confidence in his master.
Thor glanced at Dormammu with a strange expression and continued to stare at the sky. Simple-minded as he was, he only considered the outcome if Tony were exhausted to death by the Destroyer: Kamar-Taj might engage in a second divine war with Asgard. He never even considered that Tony would maliciously desire to devour the Destroyer Armor.
Boom!
Tony descended from the sky, crashing onto the Destroyer, his knee slamming into the Destroyer's chest. He used his flesh and blood body to pin down the Destroyer's metal arms, one on each side. His immense strength gave Tony the confidence to grapple with the Destroyer, which couldn't unleash its full power. Most importantly, the Allspark's erosion of the Destroyer had never ceased. Every time the Destroyer activated its stored Divine Power and its energy system ran, it gave Tony the opportunity to send a large amount of Allspark particles to erode and activate it.
Tony's expression was savage; the dual pressure from the Allspark and his body made him exhaust all his strength and let out a beastly roar. On a microscopic level, the war between the Allspark's Energy Particles and Divine Power was entering its final stage. The Allspark, possessing the dual characteristics of Creation and destruction, had successfully infiltrated the Destroyer's inner layers, vying for control.
Loki, sitting on the throne, was startled to find that his control over the Destroyer had become sluggish. "Who is it? Has Odin awakened?" A wave of panic surged through Loki's heart, an undisguisable alarm flashing across his cunning face.
On Earth, Tony, as if insane, drove the Allspark's Energy. Under the envelopment and supervision of Odin's power, he gradually seized control of the Destroyer. The Destroyer's resistance grew weaker and weaker, its Power diminishing. The light on its head, symbolizing Energy intensity, also began to dim and showed a tendency to continue fading.
After a stalemate of ten minutes, the Destroyer's last bit of Power vanished, becoming utterly still and silent. The Energy light on its head also completely extinguished. Tony slowly stood up, gasping for breath, and slowly wiped the sweat from his forehead. His bright eyes, at this moment, seemed even more dazzling than the Sun.
Many onlookers, at this moment, seemed to be dumbfounded, staring blankly at Tony. His sweat-drenched skin, bulging veins, and surging, mysterious Energy were gazed upon in awe. The Great War concluded. The fragmented ground and the continuously collapsing, broken Rifts silently recounted the horror of this battle to the people. The lingering Divine Power and Allspark particles in the air still emitted their last vestiges of Energy, enough to crush any low-level Being that carelessly stepped in. A more observant person might even detect a burnt smell; that was the scent left behind when supersonic speeds, breaking the Sonic Boom, rubbed against the air—pungent, yet adding an indescribable majesty.
If many people had only heard of Tony's previous achievements and still harbored doubts in their hearts, then at this moment, the towering Tony and the Destroyer Armor beneath his feet were proclaiming to the world and the entire Universe the strength and ferocity of this Guardian of Earth.
"He... defeated the Destroyer with his fists?" Sif looked as if she had gone mad. Even though her body was bound by Dark Energy, she couldn't help but gape, staring blankly at Tony. This was simply like a myth.
What was the Destroyer Armor? It was Asgard's proud War Puppet, its strongest weapon! From the time Sif, Thor, and others could remember, from when the legend of the Destroyer began to circulate in Asgard, it seemed the Destroyer Armor had never once been defeated.
"Unbelievable..." Hogun muttered in astonishment. They all thought Tony had defeated the Destroyer with his absolute Power.
Tony, of course, wouldn't be foolish enough to explain such a thing. That wasn't modesty; it was stupidity. He was a superior Being, a temporary Planet Guardian. If there was an opportunity to build an invincible Character Persona for himself, why refuse? The stronger his perceived strength, the thicker the fog of mystery, the more it would make some fellows hesitate to act.
Under various misunderstandings, the Asgardian Warriors had infinitely overestimated Tony's strength, and Tony was happy for it.
"Looking at his Power, although it's much stronger than Thor's, it's not overwhelmingly so. Could it be that he wields Energy we don't know about?" Hogun pondered with a frown. Sif gave him an exasperated look. "Does it matter? He defeated the Destroyer anyway!"
They weren't aware of the Destroyer's true Potential, and had made an incorrect judgment of Tony's strength. After all, even a mighty Asgard only publicly had Odin as a Level Seven Being—oh, and the sealed Hela barely counted as half a Level Seven.
At this moment, looking down at the Destroyer Armor that had lost all ability to resist, Tony slowly extended his hand and unhesitatingly hoisted it onto his shoulder.
"That belongs to Asgard!" Thor hesitated for a moment, then stepped forward, standing in front of Tony, and said, "Guardian of Earth, please hand it over to me. Asgard will remember your friendship! I, Thor, will remember the friendship of fighting by your side!"
"Don't be ridiculous, Thor. I haven't even pursued charges against you for trespassing on Earth, so don't push your luck!" Tony shot him a look filled with menace and a cold sneer, his lips curling slightly. "The Destroyer came to Earth, ultimately, to kill you, yet I saved your life and your companions' lives! Now you demand that I hand over my spoils of war?! Is this how you Asgardians treat your benefactors?" "Or rather, are greed and heartlessness the true nature of Asgardians?"
Tony sneered, "Listen, kid, I'm taking the Destroyer. I'm not asking you; I'm informing you! Not throwing you into Kamar-Taj Prison is already the greatest kindness I can offer!"
A complex expression, a mixture of shame and anger, flashed across Thor's face. He mumbled, hesitated for a moment, then slightly moved aside half a step, and said in a deep voice, "In that case, I will temporarily leave the Destroyer with you for a period of time, as recompense for my companions' and my own rudeness, and I thank you for your tolerance..."
This short speech alone made Sif and others who knew his temperament well widen their eyes, with both disbelief and joy. To be able to pick up and let go, to understand how to weigh pros and cons—this was truly their King, their Leader! This trip to Earth, that arrogant, proud, and headstrong fellow, had been replaced by a new King of courage, wisdom, authority, and forgiveness.
They wanted to shout something, but the ill-tempered Dormammu used his Power of Darkness to seal their mouths.
"...However, as the King of Asgard, I will make an agreement with you for a specific time. Once that time arrives, I will come to retrieve the Destroyer." Thor said earnestly, "Guardian of Earth, you should know the significance of the Destroyer to Asgard; we would never abandon it..."
"A thousand years! I will Seal the Destroyer for a thousand years. After a millennium, you can come to Kamar-Taj and take it away, exactly as it is! Regardless of whether I am still in charge of Kamar-Taj then, no one will hinder your removal of the Destroyer." Tony readily agreed, giving a thousand-year time frame.
Thor thought for a moment, then readily agreed. This was the best outcome, as it preserved the friendship between Asgard and Kamar-Taj, and also maintained his simple friendship with Tony. Besides, what was a mere thousand years? The average lifespan of an Asgardian was five thousand years! Those who wielded Divine Power lived even longer. Thor was only fifteen hundred years old now, still a youth. When he reached two thousand five hundred years old, he would arrive at Earth again and take the Destroyer Armor.
In Tony's heart, he chuckled even more. "A thousand years?" That's a damn thousand years! Give him a few years, and it would be enough to research the Destroyer's secrets!
Tony had always been worried that creating the true Optimus Prime and Megatron wouldn't be difficult, but what about The Thirteen Primes who surpassed them both? With the Destroyer, plus his own God-level Being, Tony was confident he could create thirteen Transformer Primes, starting at Demigod Level, in one go!
This was a colossal project, destined to consume a vast amount of time and unimaginable Energy. And this was just for the Transformers alone; creating the planet Cybertron would be even more difficult. Then, on Cybertron, separating half of the Allspark to serve as the planet's Core, and also finding a way, together with Transformer scientists, to develop Cultivation Tanks that could nurture newborn Transformers with complete Souls without needing the Allspark...
Not to mention anything else, first researching the Transformers' unique Gene Code was already a massive undertaking. Just as Carbon-based Life like Humans have DNA, the CNA of Cybertronian organic life also needed to be researched from scratch.
Even using his memories from his previous life as a complete template would still require immense effort, not to mention that in this crisis-ridden Universe, some necessary changes had to be made, which increased the difficulty of certain tasks exponentially.
However, everything had to start somewhere. No matter how difficult, Tony possessed the confidence to achieve it.
