Chapter 4: The Death of Abomination (Revised)

2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit

Tony also hated Hulk, but he had to admit that the recovered Hulk was far from something an inferior product like Abomination could contend with. His theoretically infinite power was enough to terrify any enemy.

Hulk and Optimus Prime teamed up, their frequent attacks forcing Abomination to barely parry. What shocked it even more was the terrifying trend that these two opponents seemed to grow stronger the longer they fought.

Hulk gradually recovered, while Optimus Prime's body was continuously strengthened by Allspark Energy. Although he still couldn't block Abomination's heavy punches without damage, he could at least take a few hits without too much loss. The price of this enhancement was Tony's deathly pale face and the rapidly dimming Allspark. But he refused to surrender, pushing himself to his limits.

Abomination was continuously injured, becoming increasingly frenzied.

"You want to kill me? Impossible!" Abomination roared, bloodlust in its eyes, completely enraged.

The Hulk Serum further spread, and Abomination grew stronger and taller. But this was its limit; once the serum's power was depleted, Abomination's enhancement would cease.

Hulk landed a punch, sending Abomination flying over ten meters. It crashed through two buildings in a row, and spat out a mouthful of murky blood. Tony seized the opportunity to have Optimus Prime charge forward, savagely smashing Abomination's chest with his new right arm. The wounds, which had not yet healed, rapidly widened.

Abomination shrieked, kicking Optimus Prime away with one foot.

"You rely on the Hulk Serum you injected. Your power has a limit. Once the serum is depleted, you'll just be waiting for death."

He was waiting for an opportunity, secretly recalling memories from his past life, trying to estimate Abomination's approximate power limit.

"My orders: all forces open fire! Tanks are authorized!" From the sky, General Ross commanded coldly.

Betty was shocked: "Father, Banner is still down there! You promised me you wouldn't hurt him again!"

The soldier relaying the message hesitated, looking at General Ross.

Ross said coldly: "This kind of artillery fire won't hurt Banner. I'm doing this for that new mutant! I cannot create another monster in an attempt to destroy one. I've already made that mistake once."

The usually strong General Ross felt a rare surge of vexation. In his efforts to deal with Hulk, he had ultimately created the uncontrollable Abomination. This time, he had originally intended for Hulk to deal with Abomination, but it had instead stimulated the birth of a new mutant monster.

According to the government's research on mutants, mutants who undergo awakening during a crisis possess stronger and more dangerous abilities than those who awaken naturally.

Anyway, regardless of whether Tony was a mutant or not, it would be best to eliminate him along with the others.

"You can all feel it. The energy that mutant unleashed in an instant just now was terrifying. Mutants who awaken during a crisis generally possess higher abilities and pose a greater threat. Regardless of whether his ability is metal control or something else, he is undoubtedly a Level Four mutant."

General Ross had once witnessed Magneto's power. A magnetic field so immense it inspired despair, a deity looking down on ant-like humans, the world plunged into silent stillness. Magneto could easily topple a super metropolis, shake North America through magnetokinesis, trigger tsunamis that swept across the globe, and effortlessly cause tens of millions of deaths.

If a moderate like Professor X had been born at this moment, it might barely be acceptable. But who dared to gamble? At the original location of the small pickup truck, two blood-soaked corpses lay peacefully. Judging by how carefully the mutant had placed them just now, it was obvious that the two deceased individuals were exceptionally important to him.

In such circumstances, who would dare bet that this powerful new ability user could definitely be controlled after the battle?

"General Ross, terminate your mission now. You should order your troops to return." A commanding voice suddenly came through the communicator, extremely domineering, allowing no dissent.

Ross exploded in anger, roaring: "Go to hell! What about these three monsters then? And who the hell are you?"

"I have an authorization letter from the Global Security Council. It bears the authorization of the five great powers. Are you sure you want to see it? General, you wouldn't want to be charged with treason, would you?" the voice said.

General Ross gritted his teeth, wishing he could smash the other party's head with a punch. Jumping in to take over now? Where were they before? He was just about to harvest the fruits of his labor!

The Security Council clearly wanted to seize his achievements!

If he handed him over, Hulk would no longer truly belong to him. The Super-Soldier program he oversaw, which cost countless sums, would be ruined. Ross could almost see the impending future of his imprisonment.

And that suspected Level Four mutant, would also be taken over by other factions.

"I can make the decision to hand Abomination over to you. He was originally your soldier." The voice said, authoritative and powerful, seemingly possessing immense power that could decide people's lives and deaths.

Ross's expression was volatile.

At the scene, Abomination was completely suppressed. Just as Tony had said, his power would no longer increase once the serum ran out. Under the combined assault of Hulk and Tony, he no longer had the strength to parry.

Hulk was still growing stronger. But Optimus Prime's strength had plateaued. Having already lost a large amount of metal, and given the pickup truck's material, Tony found that no matter how much Allspark Energy he used, Optimus Prime's body would no longer change.

What's more, the Allspark's starlight was dim, almost extinguished. Tony's face was ashen, yet veins bulged on his forehead, twisting eerily, giving the impression that his head might explode at any second.

Having fought to this point, Tony was teetering, almost at his limit. A large amount of Allspark Energy had been wasted for nothing. Moreover, Tony had rushed into battle immediately after his awakening, his power was immature, and he severely lacked combat experience. He stared at Abomination with bloodshot eyes, like a man-eating demon, wanting to kill it with his own power in the final moments.

Ross could no longer sit still. He refused to just watch Abomination die like this. Even if it died, it had to die on his dissection table! Not everyone could survive the Hulk Serum and undergo such changes!

At this moment, Ross's possessiveness magnified to the extreme. His things, no one but him could touch them. This was a general's resolve.

Abomination was battered, covered in wounds. It tried to resist, but was quickly knocked down by heavy punches, each blow adding another wound. Abomination used all its strength to jump up, intending to smash Optimus Prime from above. But Tony reacted quickly, making Optimus Prime dodge in time.

Boom!

Hulk grabbed Abomination, pinned it down, and brutally beat it. Optimus Prime struck viciously at one of its wounds, and to the stunned gazes of the onlookers, severed one of Abomination's arms.

"Oh my God, that monster is finished!" A survivor cried out in surprise, tears streaming down their face.

"Enough!" Ross exploded in fury, giving the order: "Have the tanks charge forward, surround Abomination, and don't let those other two bastards get close!"

Tanks rumbled into motion, rolling forward in a dense, menacing array. They had received the General's orders: the green monster would not attack them. If the metallic figure moved against them, they were to retaliate with full force, seize the opportunity to bombard and kill the enemy, and rid the world of a potential second Magneto.

Optimus Prime's dilapidated appearance, missing limbs, also gave the soldiers confidence. This metal giant was in very poor condition, especially since his body was much thinner than when he started, only half its original thickness.

"You win, Hulk, you win! Let me go quickly, otherwise General Ross won't let you off. I am his loyal soldier; he will protect me."

Abomination lay on the ground, panting. Seeing the situation was dire, it decisively surrendered, cunningly invoking Ross's name, but made no mention of the casualties it had caused.

"Let me go quickly, I know I was wrong." Abomination repeatedly pleaded, while in its cruel eyes, malice and hatred intertwined. "Otherwise, General Ross will kill you all."

Hulk, with his low intelligence, was at a loss. Furthermore, Betty ran over and hugged him, crying uncontrollably, which threw him into a fluster.

Tony gasped, a smile forming on his face.

Abomination's malevolent expression flashed and vanished, forcing out an ugly smile and growling: "You win, spare me!"

Tony sneered, his voice cold: "I'd rather finish you off. I told you, I wouldn't let you go."

He had gone mad. He desperately squeezed out the last of his Allspark energy, unleashing it all at once. The Allspark shone brightly, piercing the darkness, surpassing any time before. This eruption, regardless of cost or consequence, brought forth unprecedented, formidable power. His very Allspark seemed to ignite!

Burn!
Burn!

A desperate, hysterical burning, a burning that would destroy itself just to radiate light!

The tattered Optimus Prime suddenly extended an arm, which instantly assembled into an astonishing greatsword. Countless visible streams of Allspark Energy continuously covered the blade, layer upon layer, as if endless. To Abomination's horrified and despairing gaze, the greatsword decapitated it with a single strike, blood splattered three feet high!

The world suddenly fell silent. People watched this scene, their brains frozen, unable to think.

Tony perceived that the Allspark Source within his mind had almost disintegrated, silently extinguished itself. It had burned too much of itself; the price paid was too great.

Furious shouts faintly reached his ears. Tony was severely injured, his mind disoriented. He looked at Abomination's corpse, murmured, "It was worth it," then fainted.
