Chapter 390: Singularity (2)
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit
*Clack!*
A soft sound.
An orange light illuminated the pitch-black space. The Soul Stone glowed brightly, landing precisely on the back of Tony's right hand under Number One's venomous and unwilling gaze.
On the back of the Infinity Gauntlet, the final Infinity Stone was slotted into place.
Six types of Power erupted with a roar, like a billion tons of seawater crashing down, violently battering Tony's remaining body and Soul.
Tony couldn't help but let out a low, pained roar.
At his peak, he could have gritted his teeth and resisted this external Level Eight Power, but now, most of him had already been erased.
His once-depleted red blood cells, along with the other cells in his body, suddenly became full. At first, they joyfully absorbed the energy, but a second later, they screamed in agony, and many even burst on the spot.
His Soul was also being scoured by the six Stones. The six types of Power converged, bringing a feeling of completeness to his mind. The different Powers collided with each other, but it was like adding fuel to a fire, causing the Power to surge uncontrollably.
Six Stones meant a qualitative change.
Level Eight was also a qualitative change!
Even though three of the Stones were covered in cracks, and two had crumbled into mere remnants, with only one remaining intact, the essence of the Infinity Stones was still there!
The six of them produced a terrifying resonance!
"Why did you get the Soul Stone? How could you get the Soul Stone?!"
Number One's eyes were filled with venom and hatred. It was the bitterness of a long-cherished dream suddenly being shattered, a deep resentment for Tony, who was supposed to be his nourishment but had suddenly turned from food to master.
He should have succeeded.
But why?
A violent surge of energy washed over him, causing Number One's body to start dissipating. But how could this physical pain possibly compare to the mental resentment and madness?
Number One was truly going insane!
If he could still move, he would have pounced on Tony like a mad dog and torn him to pieces!
Why?!
I planned so much, so why are you the one who benefits in the end?
Why!!!
Number One's eyes were red, like a rampaging bull.
"I planned all of this! Why are you the one who's victorious in the end? Why?!!!"
"I went to great lengths, hiding it from everyone else, to secretly conceal the Plot Gem and keep it for myself! So why am I the one who loses in the end? Why!!!"
As he roared himself hoarse, tears began to stream from Number One's eyes.
He knew that no matter what, the moment he lost control of the Plot Gem, he had already lost.
Even if the Plot Gem's corrective force was still operating according to his previous intentions, he had already lost.
Tony was no longer helpless against the Plot Gem. The six conventional Stones had already granted him the ability to fight back against it.
It granted him the ability to be the first to kill Number One, despite the constraints of the Plot Gem.
"Didn't you say it yourself? I'm the type who likes to keep an ace up my sleeve, not play all my best cards at once. That's the character you designed for me."
Tony grinned, enduring the agony from the Infinity Gauntlet. The tearing pain madly filled every part of his body and Soul, his entire being, to the point of bursting.
"Did you sacrifice Wanda?" Number One asked, his eyes red.
"How could I do that... I sacrificed myself to the Soul Stone..." Tony said, dumbfounded. He casually waved his hand, feeling the Level Eight Power.
Number One gave a bitter laugh, his venomous eyes staring at Tony with unwillingness.
Especially when a red light flashed, altering reality, and Tony reassembled his twelve tattered Divine Knights. At that moment, Number One fell into complete despair, his face ashen.
He had lost, utterly and completely.
There was no longer any chance for a comeback.
"You won. An author from the Editorial Department like me was actually outplayed and killed by my own character. I'm probably the most foolish author in history."
Number One let out a self-deprecating laugh, and the speed at which his body was disappearing suddenly accelerated.
"On your way to meet Death, remember to repent to the Ancient One," Tony said flatly.
"You'll spare my Soul?" Number One's eyes lit up as he asked with a glimmer of hope, but in his heart, he was screaming, *If my Soul truly escapes, I will have my revenge!*
If he could escape, there might be a chance for a comeback. For example, if someone from the Editorial Department accidentally discovered him and found a way to write him back to life...
The words had barely left his mouth when, in the next instant, the Allspark suddenly flew out from above Tony's head, its soft, colorless light dancing.
Number One's eyes lit up, and he was about to say something when he saw Tony snap his fingers. His vision was engulfed by a vast six-colored light, and the last remnants of his Soul and body were utterly destroyed.
"You're overthinking things. Just die."
Tony's smile vanished, leaving only a flat expression.
He would never be foolish enough to waste words on a dying man. Even though he still had many questions and faced many unknowns—answers and conclusions he could have easily forced out of his opponent.
But Tony still struck the killing blow without a shred of hesitation. As for those unknowns, he would have other chances to find the answers, even if it might be a bit more troublesome.
But as for Number One, killing him would solve the problem once and for all.
Within the mass of light enveloped by the black light, only the six colors in Tony's hand and the materialized Allspark shone with stubborn luminescence.
*Crack...*
The Infinity Gauntlet tore apart.
The six Stones also scattered. Five of them shattered on the spot, dissipating completely.
Among them, only the remaining Soul Stone stubbornly clung to Tony.
Tony's Soul was now considered by the Soul Stone to be its own possession.
But under the influence of the higher-level Plot Gem, Tony's Soul eventually collapsed, only to re-coalesce. A vast amount of information and memories once again mixed into those brand-new Singularity particles, becoming the cornerstone of a new life.
"Next, is the Ascension to Singularity..."
Tony's body had already disintegrated. It was modified and gathered by the Plot Gem, undergoing a transformation into brand-new particles—Singularity particles converted by a Singularity artifact.
The Allspark floated in the void like a ball of fire, burning brightly, akin to the first torch that ignited the light of civilization in the darkness.
Countless particles converged around the Allspark, fused and Ascended by its light, just as Tony had created Transformers in the past.
A new body and a new Soul were gradually taking shape. The fundamental particles, carrying the properties of both the Plot Gem and the Allspark, slowly converged to form the framework of a new life.
"The Singularity that Number One so desperately pursued is now within my grasp..."
A new body, a new Soul, old memories, and a brand-new consciousness born from those old memories converged from all directions to form a new him.
A him that was familiar, yet strange.
At that moment, the entire Multiverse trembled slightly. A mysterious connection seemed to form between countless universes. Under this subtle vibration, innumerable doppelgänger Tonys who had been lucky enough to survive quietly vanished.
Countless particles began to travel back from across the Multiverse, converging within the Prime Universe.
