Chapter 411: Awakening
By: Great Demon Spirit
Collector Tivan had recently come into a great stroke of luck.
He had found the "corpse" of a mysterious creature!!!
My God!
The power of this being shocked Tivan, despite his vast experience and immense wealth of knowledge.
It was a shock that came from the depths of his soul. The terrifying might that this mysterious "corpse" casually emanated made him, an Elder of the Universe, tremble to his very soul!
It was like an ant encountering a dinosaur.
What was even more terrifying was that this body was emitting an indescribably horrifying stream of information. This chaotic data, as vast as the cosmos itself, radiated outward at an insane speed. Initially, even the Collector couldn't withstand the impact of such a massive amount of information!
Collector Tivan was initially dumbfounded, but he was soon overcome with ecstasy and added the body to his collection! He expended a great number of his treasures to finally forge a powerful technological device to successfully house it.
How wonderful, to find a corpse just by stepping outside!
Fantastic! And it was the body of an incomparably terrifying, mysterious creature! A mysterious being so powerful that even he, Tivan, couldn't identify it and found it unbelievably strong!
He felt the thrill of a pie falling from the sky and the satisfaction of finding a treasure while sifting through junk.
However, after a long period of elation, Tivan always felt a sense of puzzlement, for he had scoured all sorts of records but found no mention of this terrifying creature.
This appearance, this physical structure… did it bear some resemblance to one of the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy? But Tivan quickly tossed such an unreliable thought from his mind.
He knew what kind of character Star-Lord was. The man possessed the aura of a true god, an aura he was quite familiar with—that of the living planet, Ego. However, it seemed to have been diluted by some species from a primitive planet.
This mysterious body looked no different from the primitive life on that primitive planet.
Tivan couldn't figure it out, so he simply stopped thinking about it. Based on his experience, a creature this terrifying—one that seemed even nobler and more mysterious than the ancient Celestials—was one of a kind. There was absolutely no other like it in the universe!
This was his confidence as one of the Elders of the Universe!
Collector Tivan was a member of the Elders of the Universe. He and the other fourteen were descendants of the civilized races that had emerged at the birth of the Universe.
Because their lifespans were far too long and their knowledge far too vast, each of them had to find something interesting to do.
And Tivan was interested in collecting. He fanatically collected all sorts of rare things, even courting death time and again to do so.
He had even committed the absurd act of collecting another Elder of the Universe.
After collecting this body, to be on the safe side, Tivan used the strongest technology at his disposal, mixed with the power of some mysterious particles, to seal the being away completely.
Tivan guessed that this being must have been slumbering in the Universe for countless years. After all, it was so powerful it made one tremble with fear; it even felt as if this Universe itself was less noble than this mysterious being.
But the cautious yet death-courting Tivan decisively chose to freeze the being and show it off to everyone.
The Grandmaster came. After staring blankly at the body for a long while, he looked at his brother with a sigh and left in resignation. He knew any attempt to persuade him would be useless.
The Champion, an Elder of the Universe who did not get along with Tivan, also came. He lingered for a long time, gave Collector Tivan a pitying look, and left. That's right, he was the guy Tivan had thrown into a cryo-chamber and collected.
Even The Gardener, who had always kept to himself and enjoyed planting, heard the news and cautiously made a trip to Knowhere with his Groot. In the end, he only gave his old friend a farewell glance before leaving without a word.
The reactions of these individuals baffled Tivan, but he naturally assumed they were simply envious and jealous of him.
This left the ecstatic Collector at a loss, as he hadn't seen the expressions he had hoped for from any of them.
When the Asgardians traveled thousands of miles from Yggdrasil to inquire about fragmented information concerning the Infinity Stones, the Sorcerer Supreme, and strange events, the show-off Tivan once again began to explain his collection to his guests.
This time, the warrior Sif was instantly petrified, staring dumbfounded at the familiar face in the cryo-chamber.
"Ah, my guest, you truly have a discerning eye!" Tivan's sweet spot had been hit, and he jumped up as if he'd been shot full of adrenaline.
Yes, that's the expression!
This was the exact expression he wanted to see!
It was as if every pore on Collector Tivan's body had opened up. A wave of heartfelt pleasure washed over him. It was the thrill of receiving affirmation—alright, it was the feeling of successfully showing off.
Sif was trembling. She subconsciously placed a hand on her sword, her eyes fixed on the figure in the cryo-chamber with a hint of fear.
Tivan was facing her, his back to the cryo-chamber, so he failed to notice…
The person's eyes had already opened.
After a moment of initial confusion, his pupils gradually focused. The longer he looked, the more hostile his gaze became.
As his eyes swept across the room, he saw countless display cases where all sorts of creatures were imprisoned, some living, some dead.
There was a dog in a spacesuit, and even a large duck that was staring at him with a human-like gaze.
Endless time flowed in a discordant manner, as if billions of years had passed. He captured the fragmented, incomplete pieces of every creature's past experiences here and understood everything. When his gaze finally returned, only immense malice remained in his eyes.
Before the warrior Sif could cry out a warning, the high-tech cryo-chamber was instantly activated and brought under his control. A hand shot out, smashing the transparent, glass-like barrier. Before the terrified eyes of the Asgardians, he viciously seized Tivan by the throat and lifted him up.
"Old fool, you dare to collect me?!"
The voice, as if from the depths of Hell, carried an indescribably terrifying aura that not only crushed their confidence but also instilled in them the fear of facing a natural predator.
"Tony, calm down!" Sif shouted, gritting her teeth.
Tony kicked the door away and walked out of the cryo-chamber. His fierce eyes, filled with deep malice, seemed to see through space-time itself. As if standing at the dawn of time, he stared intently at the Collector.
At that moment, Tivan felt as if he was facing Death itself.
Tony's evolution was complete, but at this moment, all he knew was that he had become one of the Collector's collectibles, displayed like a prized treasure to who knows how many visitors.
Rage surged within him. Inside Tony's body, a small portion of cells glowing with a noble light began to activate. They erupted with an incomparably terrifying aura, crushing space-time, overwhelming the life signs of everyone present, and making them feel as if they had been plunged into an icy cavern.
