Chapter 436

Chapter 424: The Return!

The Genesis Chamber was the cradle of life for all Kryptonians born through artificial means.

All Kryptonians were born in the Genesis Chamber. Inside were rows of pale yellow sacs. Kryptonian infants, created through genetic technology, would grow bit by bit within these sacs until they became fully formed, then they would be removed by specialized personnel to be nurtured.

The viscous, pale yellow liquid inside was like a human mother's amniotic fluid, but far more potent, containing astonishingly rich nutrients. It was a substance specifically formulated for Kryptonians, allowing their infants to achieve optimal growth.

General Zod strode into the Genesis Chamber. Here, he alone possessed ultimate authority; he was its sole master.

This was their last remaining Genesis Chamber. It seemed rather cramped, incomparable to the vast, giant Genesis Chamber on Krypton. After all, this one had been built aboard a spaceship.

If this last Genesis Chamber were to be destroyed, it would all be over. Even if they had the Codex of Life, it would be useless.

General Zod issued a series of commands, and the artificial intelligence carried them out one by one as instructed.

"Initiate preliminary preparations for the experiment codenamed 'Forbidden Creature,' and transfer secondary authority of the Genesis Chamber to Faora," General Zod commanded.

"Warning: The Doomsday Project was forbidden by the High Council."

"Do as I command!"

"Command confirmed, General Zod."

The artificial intelligence responded precisely. A dozen sacs were merged, and several mechanical arms began adjusting the pale yellow, viscous liquid within.

"Zod, stop." Behind him, a familiar voice called out.

General Zod turned. "Even in death, you can't help but lecture me? Just as you did on Krypton?"

Jor-El, Clark's father, stood with his arms crossed, his intelligent eyes watching Zod with a somber gaze.

Nearly half his hair was graying. He wore a fitting black overcoat of the House of El, displaying the last vestiges of dignity and style of Krypton's chief scientist.

"I knew you would have left some preparations," General Zod said, tapping on the control console and directly revoking Jor-El's control over the spaceship.

"I have revoked your authority. Even though you created this spaceship, you can no longer interfere with me," Zod stated. "The S-Key on that girl, Lois Lane, is now useless."

Jor-El's expression turned grim. He said in a low voice, "Zod, you are destroying a species."

"That's right. And now I'm discussing the benefits of doing so with a ghost." Zod walked over, looking coldly at the friend he had killed with his own hands long ago.

On Krypton, he and Jor-El had always been close friends who supported each other. But when Zod launched a coup against the corrupt council, not only did Jor-El refuse to help, but he also stole the Codex of Life, disrupting all of Zod's plans.

In Zod's eyes, his friend Jor-El had been a profound disappointment, not only ruining Krypton but also selfishly merging the Codex of Life into his son's body.

"We are both ghosts, Zod. Krypton is finished!"

"As long as I live, Krypton will be reborn!" Zod roared, a vicious gleam flashing in his eyes.

"The power contained on this planet is beyond your imagination. You will only make things worse. Zod, even if others do not act, my son will surely stop you. He is twice as powerful as you are now," Jor-El said coldly.

Zod slowly raised his head to look at him, his expression indifferent. "Tell me, you have Jor-El's memories and consciousness—can you feel his selfishness? I will retrieve the Codex of Life from your son's corpse and build a new Krypton on this planet."

Jor-El stared into Zod's eyes, devoid of any emotion. His remaining sliver of intelligent consciousness was quickly erased by the spaceship's artificial intelligence.

Like a cluster of data, it flared brightly as it collapsed, dissolving into countless fine points of light.

Zod clenched his fists tightly, veins throbbing on his forehead, betraying his inner turmoil.

"I will continue to grow stronger until I can rival Earth's most powerful being."

Zod said in a low voice.

Using his telescopic and X-ray vision, he could see the great battle tens of thousands of meters away growing more intense. The death-defying criminals were beginning to flee because their opponents were too ferocious, often able to fight multiple enemies at once and even turn the tables to kill them.

Although they were fierce criminals, compared to the Decepticon warriors—who were naturally comparable to top-tier combat masters, martial artists, and marksmen, and also possessed powerful, regenerative steel bodies—they were still far inferior.

They were mere flesh and blood. Despite their various abilities, they were sorely lacking in the face of absolute power.

A few of them would rather flee and wait for death than face the Decepticons, a group of meat grinders, head-on.

General Zod withdrew his cold gaze. Although he was slightly surprised by this outcome, not expecting these robots to be so formidable in combat, it was nothing worth mentioning in the face of an organized Kryptonian legion.

If there were two hundred thousand Kryptonians... no, just two hundred Kryptonians would be enough to sweep away the Decepticons.

Under the blessing of a yellow sun, Kryptonians were invincible.

General Zod looked at the Genesis Chamber, at the sacs that symbolized new life, and a rare softness appeared in his eyes. Back on Krypton, he himself had been taken from one of these sacs as an infant.

This chamber would be the hope for a new Krypton's rebirth!

"No one can stop me!" General Zod muttered to himself.

"Oh? Is that so? I'd like to try."

A cold voice, tinged with a hint of frost, drifted in.

"Who?" Zod stood up, his majestic face solemn.

The spaceship's artificial intelligence faithfully reported: "General, there is no one here. You must be a fool. You misheard."

Zod's expression changed slightly, and a terrifying murderous intent flared in his eyes!

His artificial intelligence would *never* speak to him like that!

Someone had silently seized control of his spaceship and his artificial intelligence! The only one with such an ability was the Sorcerer Supreme!

"Tony?" Zod asked, his face dark.

Golden sparks appeared abruptly. Tony, dressed all in black, stepped out. A little girl in a matching black robe followed to his left, while a cute dog sat by his right foot.

Behind him, the indistinct shadows of twelve black giants loomed.

"I was just wondering when you Kryptonians would finally show up," Tony said, as if to himself. He tilted his head to the left and saw Raven glaring fiercely at their opponent, so he reached out and patted her on the head.

Raven immediately calmed down, a look of enjoyment on her face.

"Woof!"

Cosmo yapped with a hint of jealousy.

Looking at Zod, Tony said slowly, "I'm actually very interested in some of your Kryptonian things... so, give me your life. I need your corpse!"
