Chapter 546: Come On, Let's Have Some Fun!
The upheaval wasn't limited to Nowhere; keep in mind, this was the effect of just a single test tube.
There were forty such planets across the entire universe.
Four different types of cells, ten test tubes for each type, were beginning to spread throughout the universe thanks to the efforts of the Ravagers.
Although most of the test tubes were deployed on special planets overrun with criminals, like Nowhere and Warworld, this still triggered immense turmoil and disaster throughout the universe.
After another exchange with the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Ravagers fled in panic, their faces grim.
Regret gnawed at Yondu's heart; he was kicking himself.
He had, of course, guessed that these test tubes contained something akin to a virus, but he hadn't cared. In truth, if you thought about it, if mere viruses were something to be feared, wouldn't the various factions in the universe have been wiped out countless times already?
Take Nowhere, for example. It was a melting pot of creatures, with all sorts of life forms possessing vastly different genetic structures and varying levels of resistance to different viruses.
It was like the Americas during Earth's Age of Discovery. What caused a massive disaster on the American continent could already be prevented and controlled in Eurasia during the same period through cowpox vaccination.
The descendants of these vaccinated humans would also possess some antibodies to resist smallpox.
Therefore, viruses really weren't a weapon worth mentioning. Not to mention, for those capable of interstellar travel, who didn't have a plethora of technological products at their disposal? A virus like that would be eliminated in minutes.
But the test tubes they had been tasked with deploying... they couldn't be explained away as simple "viruses"!
Yondu's expression was grim and ferocious. He silently watched as Nowhere disappeared from view.
...
"It has begun... the Feast of Destruction..."
Tony sat quietly on an asteroid, calmly waiting for the situation to develop further.
Tony was not at all surprised by the immense infectivity produced after the test tubes shattered. In this world, no one had studied Doomsday more deeply than he had.
After all, he had risked a direct confrontation with Ancient Doomsday and had personally obtained its offshoot and Regeneration Seed—the Doomsday Spores.
His research on the Doomsday Spores, a miraculous substance that spread and parasitized in a way that defied all logic, had never ceased. It was with the help of these Doomsday Spores that Tony was able to cultivate the test tubes with their terrifyingly high infectivity.
No virus could compare to the four types of cells developed with the Doomsday Spores as their core.
Either be assimilated or use immense power to promptly excise them. Otherwise, as time went on, it would be too late once one's own genes became tightly bound with the Doomsday genes.
These infected individuals would still retain their own consciousness, spirit, memories, and emotions; they would just have switched races in an extremely short amount of time.
The Doomsday race.
"Let's see what strange and bizarre things can be born from these four cell templates, with their different focuses, mixed with countless life forms of all shapes and sizes."
Tony squinted, feeling the atmosphere of the universe suddenly grow uneasy.
Something bizarre and insidious seemed to be spreading through this extremely confined universe. Numerous powerful life forms were suddenly being born, changing this stagnant universe with their individual thoughts and perceptions.
It was foreseeable that before long, this stagnant world would become unprecedentedly lively.
Four types of cells, forty test tubes, were enough to spawn numerous Doomsday factions. These factions would kill each other and go on to occupy more planets, continuously giving birth to new Doomsday individuals...
Inferior Cells: These were the cells Tony had used back when he risked cultivating the Celestial's ashes and provoked Eternity. Their characteristics were a super-strong survival instinct, a terrifying rate of consumption, and powerful adaptability. Their weaknesses were a short lifespan and a fragile life essence; a single hit would kill them instantly.
The invasive nature of these cells was also the absolute strongest. They could rapidly occupy the infected's body and carry out crude genetic modification in an attempt to obtain a better environment for survival. At the same time, the Inferior Cells could also absorb all of the infected's superior genes, and even fragmented genes would be stored for later use.
Regenerative Cells: This type possessed the most terrifying survivability. After aging and dying over time, they could self-resurrect, just like a hydra on Earth. In theory, their lifespan was infinite, but their weakness was abysmal combat strength.
Primitive Cells: This was the nerfed version of Doomsday cultivated by Lex Luthor using General Zod's corpse in the movie, a weakling that was taken out by a single stab from a Kryptonite spear.
The reason for this name was that Tony had already basically succeeded in cultivating these cells before obtaining the Doomsday Spores, and he further researched and perfected them after getting the spores. These cells could undergo adaptive evolution based on the enemy's fighting style.
Proliferative Cells: These could be called a locust swarm of cells, greedily dividing to expand their population. Although their individual strength was nothing special, their insane reproductive ability allowed them to split into more individuals in an extremely short amount of time.
It was no exaggeration to say that a single individual infected with Proliferative Cells was a walking, humanoid virus bank.
"Adaptation, resurrection, learning... Ancient Doomsday's greatest characteristics are all within these four types of cells. At the same time, I've taken into account the distinction between the individual and the collective... I hope you don't disappoint me. You had no future to begin with—scarce resources, a collapsing world, only a few powerhouses left... This universe has no hope, but I can give you hope."
Tony waited quietly, waiting for events to ferment further, his eyes filled with immense anticipation.
He called this universe the "Nirvana Universe," not simply as a grand experimental base for cultivating Doomsdays, but more importantly, as a crucial ace up his sleeve.
One had to know, Tony was not far from ascending to Level Seven. When that time came, it was still unknown whether the Plot Gem could conceal the aura that would erupt from a super-individual like him, who had completed the leap from a Quasi-Unique God to a Unique God.
He had to prepare for the worst, for instance, a whole horde of Unique Gods sending their avatars to invade the Multiverse and hunt for him with all their might.
Moreover, that old dame Death was also intent on seizing benefits from him, wanting to make her lackey, Thanos, a special Superman doppelganger like Golden Superman or Silver Superman.
The Nirvana Universe would become Tony's vital arsenal for countermeasures.
Whoever dared to come, whoever dared to have ill intentions, he would fucking unleash all the countless Doomsdays from this universe!
The Sphere of the Gods is vast and desolate? The Unique Gods are lonely and cold? Wasn't the one Ancient Doomsday I let in before enough?
Very well, then. Tony would herd hundreds of millions of Doomsdays of all types as if he were driving pigs and throw them all into the Sphere of the Gods in one go.
It would probably be quite lively then.
Did they really think Tony had no temper? Naive. In for a penny, in for a pound. Whether one god came or a whole group of them, Tony couldn't beat them anyway, so he might as well just flip the table.
Even if the Unique Gods came in droves, they would still get screwed over and die!
Come on, let's have some fun!
