Chapter 568

Chapter 555: Time Travel

It turned out to be far too difficult for the current Earthlings to comprehend the concepts of the Omni-Sphere World and the Sphere of the Gods.

Many people's understanding was still limited to Earth and the universe; the arrival of an alien was already an incredible event. This didn't even begin to cover the true concept of the Multiverse's endless universes, let alone the Sphere of the Gods that transcended the Multiverse—a vast world completely beyond their comprehension.

Harrison looked at the confused and silent group, his face twitching. He forced a smile and said in his well-practiced, inspiring tone, "We have the honor, and simultaneously the tragedy, of fighting an ancient deity from the Sphere of the Gods."

"Before the Multiverse was even formed, Steppenwolf had already made a name for himself through slaughter in the Sphere of the Gods. This cold-blooded deity's name struck fear into countless universes, and the legends of Steppenwolf could be heard across them all," Dr. Harrison said.

"Where did you get this information?" Batman asked hoarsely. His cold eyes, shrouded in darkness, seemed even more profound, and his gaze fixed on Harrison with scrutiny and caution.

Everyone looked at him, at the doctor who had once made a grave mistake and nearly been sent to prison.

"The Speed Force."

Dr. Harrison pointed to The Flash beside him and said, "The Speed Force is a power closely linked to time. The Flash can use the Speed Force to travel through spacetime. And I have been fortunate enough to be The Flash's collaborator and have studied this special power."

Batman remained noncommittal, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. "So, the Speed Force is also a product of your Particle Accelerator explosion back then?"

"You could say that..." Harrison placed his glasses on his lap, his lips habitually forming an affable smile as he unconsciously rubbed his fingers together.

Batman watched him coolly, the caution in his eyes deepening.

Harrison cursed inwardly and avoided Batman's gaze, looking at the others. "With The Flash's help, I've observed many things never seen before. Believe me, my research on time surpasses everyone present."

The heroes present could only say they reluctantly accepted this reason, burying their suspicions deep down. Even if they didn't believe him, there was nothing they could do. They couldn't just grab Harrison by the throat and force him to hand over all his research data for them to verify, could they?

"So the current situation is... our chances of defeat are even higher? And that Speed Force thing of yours—pardon my bluntness, but I don't believe in that crap at all. My quantum technology can open a gateway to spacetime just the same," Hamm said with a dark expression.

"No one is asking you to believe, Mr. Hamm. Your Ant-Man battle suit can travel through quantum spacetime, which is indeed a remarkable invention. But the Speed Force is just as real. The Flash beside me is a living example—the first and only person in history to control the Speed Force," Harrison said.

Forced into a corner, he had no choice but to push Barry forward. This would simply accelerate his entry into the Justice League.

This damn, unrecognizable history had already made Harrison lose his patience. He didn't want to wait any longer.

"Uh, I have an idea..."

The Flash scratched his cheek, looking a bit embarrassed and nervous. His gaze toward the heroes held a hint of excitement as he cautiously raised his hand, his eyes bright.

"What? No, you can't! Absolutely not!" Harrison yelled, slamming his hand on his wheelchair.

"But using the Cosmic Treadmill is the only chance we have to win," The Flash said in a low voice. "As long as I get on the treadmill and run at full speed, I'll be fast enough for time travel. I can easily change history..."

"Change it how? With what? Even if you travel through time, you'll be no match for Steppenwolf!" Harrison's expression changed drastically, ignoring the confusion of the others.

Everyone frowned, their expressions strange. Although they thought this Speed Force business was nonsense, seeing The Flash's demeanor, perhaps he really could alter the timeline...

If he succeeded, wouldn't their fallen comrades be resurrected?

This tragic reality would be overwritten, and all of history would be rewritten... But what would that make their current selves? Fake? Erased by the new reality?

Harrison fired off a rapid barrage, sounding exasperated. "I won't allow you to do this! Who do you think Steppenwolf is? You think Steppenwolf knows nothing about a speedster like you who wields the Speed Force? Don't forget, he's older than the Multiverse itself! His understanding of the Speed Force is definitely no worse than a rookie like you! You'll be killed by the Steppenwolf of the past!"

"Trust me, Doctor. I won't fight Steppenwolf. I'll go back to the past to find help."

The Flash was full of confidence, his nervousness quickly fading. "I'll go back to the past and find Tony, and I'll tell him everything about Steppenwolf's invasion! As long as he leaves Earth a little later, as long as he delays the migration, the Steppenwolf problem will be solved! Just as Mr. Stark said, Tony may not be a good person, but he is definitely a good guardian!"

"The moment Steppenwolf shows his face, Tony will viciously take him down. His corpse will be strung up high for all alien visitors to see—that's the kind of person he is, isn't it? A monster so ferocious he terrifies his enemies."

"What I need to do is simple. Get on the Cosmic Treadmill, run, accelerate, go back six months, find Tony, and tell him about Earth's crisis. It's that simple."

Everyone raised their eyebrows, their expressions a mixture of surprise and interest.

"I have a question. Even if you really do change history, what happens to us, the ones having this meeting right now? Do we just vanish on the spot with a *poof*?" Robin asked, raising his hand.

A vein throbbed on Dr. Harrison's temple as he rubbed it. "Not vanish, but rather be 'overwritten.' Our current selves will be overwritten by our new selves. We will still be us, just with a missing piece of memory... That's the best-case scenario."

"Then that raises a new question—what about us, having this meeting right now? For us, the disaster has already happened..." Robin spread his hands, his thoughts a jumble.

Tony slammed the table, his face contorting in pain. "The point is that the disaster won't happen again! Just do it, kid! Use that Speed Force thing of yours and go back to the past! That way, Rhodey won't die!"

Harrison's face was grim, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. He opened his mouth to object but was immediately drowned out by the clamor of the dozens of people in the room.

Bowing his head low, a cold look passed through Harrison's eyes, and he remained silent.

Hehehe... Traversing spacetime? Hehehe... Still too young. If you rely too much on altering time, time will slap the fantasist back to reality even faster.

No matter how fast a speedster is, they can never outrun reality...
