Civil War (4)
The Fenris Armor was Batman's strongest armor to date. It was the top-tier armor he could build after absorbing Apokolips technology.
Fully enclosed, it stood 2.6 meters tall, with a head as flat as an insect's.
In the original work, this armor had another name: the Anti-Justice League Armor. Piloting this armor, Batman had defeated the entire Justice League, who had not made specific preparations.
Superman, Diana, and others one after another knelt before Batman.
But this time, his opponent was Iron Man, an opponent who was in no way inferior to him in intelligence.
The Fenris's massive hand grabbed the relatively minuscule Iron Man. Three fingers quickly closed in, atom-level devices opened, and powerful currents surged out wildly, all pouring into Iron Man's armor.
A strong magnetic field slowly contracted, squeezing Iron Man's Exoskeleton Armor until it creaked. In Tony's vision, the electronic images and various data transmitted by Jarvis became blurry, seemingly interfered with by external forces.
Jarvis's voice was also intermittent.
"Anti-Justice League Armor? This single set isn't enough." Iron Man suddenly exerted force, and his entire armor suddenly expanded a circle, glowing circles appearing on his body one after another.
"Don't forget, I built armor first! You're copying my ideas!" Iron Man broke free from the restraints, the Fusion Reactor on his chest lit up, and blasted Batman away.
Jarvis came back online and began communicating with Tony.
"You rely too much on Artificial Intelligence," Batman's hoarse voice came through. The massive Fenris lunged forward, dozens of missiles flew wildly, some were dodged by Iron Man, and the remaining ones were also blown up by Tony.
"Your armor is too clunky, like a big fatty."
Iron Man scoffed, flexibly blew up the last missile in the air, then aimed at Batman and fired a red laser.
The two who relied on their intellect for battle engaged in a fierce exchange, and other members were no exception, erupting into a free-for-all.
The most intense battle was undoubtedly Superman facing God-King Thor—Superman was getting thrashed by Thor.
God-King Thor had merged with modified gene fragments from the Celestials, his Combat Power had soared, transforming from an Asgardian into a Half-Celestial Artificial Lifeform. His Combat Power suppressed Superman, who had been injected with imperfect Doomsday cells.
With a loud bang, Superman was sent flying by a punch, collapsing a steel building.
"Asgardians have no business interfering in Earth's internal affairs!" Superman, looking somewhat dishevelled, muttered after firing a Heat Vision blast.
"Asgardians would never abandon their comrades, and Kryptonians likewise have no right to interfere in Earth's internal affairs."
Thor fought bare-handed. His Mjolnir had been destroyed long ago in the Great War with Amatsu-Mikaboshi, and now he didn't need any weapons; he himself was the most powerful weapon.
Clark's Heat Vision caused Thor no harm whatsoever.
"Ha—"
Diana drew the Godkiller Sword and thrust it towards Thor, but Thor grabbed the blade and, with a slight frown, took a few steps back.
"Daughter of Zeus, you should know the meaning of this sword better than anyone, yet you point it at me!"
"My apologies, Thor, I have to do this. You are too powerful, and you shouldn't be involved."
Diana took a deep breath and slowly put on a helmet.
This was the helmet of the God of War Ares.
In an instant, massive Divine Power of the God of War surged from the helmet, brutally infusing itself into Diana's body. Large amounts of Divine Power particles filled her Gene Chain, causing a drastic change at the deepest level.
A change that made her more complete, more powerful.
The surging Divine Power caused the island to tremble, the subtle tremors unsettling the dust on the ground, and the steel buildings emitting groans of protest.
"Ares' War Helmet…" Thor did not stop her. He observed the familiar helmet thoughtfully.
Superman looked worried: "Diana…"
The slightly wild and immense Divine Power merged into Diana's own Divine Power system; the power of the God of War was completely mastered by Diana.
"From now on, my name is War Goddess!"
Diana's raven hair cascaded down like a waterfall, floating and swaying within the Divine Power's force field. Massive Divine Power fluctuations enveloped her body, making the Daughter of Zeus appear immensely tall.
War Goddess Diana was born!
But… it still wasn't enough, still not reaching Thor's level.
After all, Ares himself wasn't particularly impressive, ranking as one of the weakest Gods in the Olympus Pantheon…
Clark and Diana teamed up to fight God-King Thor. A Great War erupted between the three, soaring from the island into the sky with super speeds starting at a thousand times the Speed of Sound, leaving behind large swathes of afterimages wherever they clashed.
Other heroes also broke out into a brawl. Though they didn't possess the level of Superman or Thor, nor the intelligence of Batman and Iron Man, and many of them were merely at the level of a super-soldier, with the numbers increasing, the battle situation also became diverse and unpredictable.
Overall, however, the Avengers were at a disadvantage, because The Flash's terrifying speed and Martian Manhunter's psychic abilities, far more powerful than Professor X's, were firmly suppressing the Avengers.
The Avengers fought somewhat passively, only able to cooperate with each other, barely maintaining a stalemate.
Vibe VS Quake.
Ant-Man VS The Atom.
Shang-Chi VS Black Canary.
Deathstroke VS Deadpool.
...
The last pair of freeloading brothers could be ignored; at least none of the Avengers and Justice League members bothered with these two scumbags who had somehow snuck in to fleece money.
"What do we do? No one's paying attention to us, how are we supposed to make money then?" Deadpool was a bit distressed.
Deathstroke pondered for a moment and said seriously, "Perhaps our value hasn't been realized by these patrons yet… How about this, you stand still and let me chop you to death."
"Why should you chop me to death instead of me chopping you to death?"
"You can regenerate, but I can't. If I desperately chop you to death, and you desperately revive, it'll be like showing them our value and abilities."
"I have an idea," Deadpool thought Deathstroke was completely unreliable and, after thinking for a moment, casually dodged a building that Ant-Man had shrunk, then thrown, and suddenly enlarged.
Amidst the booming dust and noise, Deadpool waved his arms and shouted at Deathstroke, "How about we join one side and chop the other side down!"
"Foolish! What if the winning side defaults on payment? Can you beat them?"
Deathstroke rebuked him, skillfully drew his knife, leapt over the ruins, and brutally slashed at Deadpool.
"So, it's better if I just chop you to death, every time I look at you, I feel my eyes are defiled…"
Deathstroke sneered and, knife in hand, furiously hacked at the yelping Deadpool, with blood and gore splattering.
