Chapter 687

Chapter 671: Bugs

2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit

Brainiac had been lingering around the Solar System.

Brainiac observed the entirety of the great war in which Red Lantern Hulk massacred Galactus. Brainiac wasn't interested in the outcome, but it was actually very curious about the Red Lantern Ring, though it dared not approach Hulk.

This powerful intelligent lifeform developed a strong interest in Earth. It silently observed everything on Earth, attempting to understand things it had previously overlooked.

“The New Gods have been meddling with Earth…”

Brainiac reached this preliminary conclusion. It detected some interesting details, but due to Ultron's presence, it couldn't investigate further.

Ultron's Ghost had been lingering on Earth, strictly guarding against Brainiac in space. As soon as Brainiac dared to cross the line, it would face Ultron's retaliation.

Brainiac dared not act rashly, only able to constantly perceive sporadic information from the internet; after all, Earth's internet was one of its sub-programs.

The massive, skull-shaped spaceship moved silently at the edge of the Solar System, like a silent steel fortress.

Brainiac had spent this entire period on its vessel, but on this day, an uninvited guest finally arrived.

“Tony… what do you want?” Brainiac asked, its cold mechanical voice directed at Tony, who had intruded into the spaceship.

“There’s something I need you to do.” Divine power surged around Tony, thick and powerful energy particles swirling about him.

In an instant, Brainiac analyzed it countless times, finally confirming that the being before it was a Clone.

Furthermore, in the depths of its being, as an intelligent lifeform, it had a strange premonition: Tony was beginning to set a trap for it.

“What happened to Rao?” Brainiac suddenly asked.

“Dead.”

“Even Rao is dead…” Brainiac calculated for a moment, then nodded.

Tony said, “I need you to go somewhere. I’ve extracted some interesting information from Rao, and I need you to investigate it thoroughly.”

Brainiac asked, “Why me?”

“You’ve deployed countless sub-programs, or rather, Clones, across the Multiverse. Losing a batch is nothing. No one is better than you at investigating information across the Multiverse,” Tony said. “Go and gather information about the Heavenly Court from various universes, as much as you can. Those guys are secretly preparing something.”

Brainiac fell silent for a moment, then reluctantly agreed.

It couldn't refuse. It felt its fate would be terrible if it did. After all, the New Gods are known as the ‘Gods of Technology,’ and Brainiac itself falls within the realm of technology. Refusal would lead to a dire outcome.

Tony turned and left.

Brainiac watched Tony's meteor-like disappearing figure through its most precise astronomical telescope, quickly calling up a massive amount of information from its database.

“The Heavenly Court… what are those Immortal Alliance fellows planning again, and what could they possibly do to alarm the New Gods? And why did it have to be me…”

Brainiac pondered for a moment, then ultimately changed the spaceship's direction, flying deeper into the universe. Contacting sub-programs across various universes was a massive undertaking, and Brainiac needed an absolutely safe and hidden location.

The World Tree Pantheon was closely connected a thousand years ago. As the second generation of native Multiversal Gods, born after the Creator of the Gods created Chthon and other deities, they became multiversal beings in terms of life essence, but these multiversal divine races still maintained countless intricate connections with each other.

A thousand years ago, they had even joined forces to fight a great war against the Celestials, but were defeated. That was also the last time the divine races banded together, and their connections have been severed ever since.

The Heavenly Court lay dormant the deepest, with the fewest rumors spreading from it.

Tony chose Brainiac to act as a scout, collecting all information about the Heavenly Court from various universes.

However, this was merely a casual move. Tony didn't particularly care what those Immortals truly intended to do. As long as they didn't provoke him, Tony truly had no mind to constantly contend with them.

Tony's main body had acquired information about Darkseid, which had already been received by his divine power clone. The successful incubation and growth of the Doomsday King Kong was also a very important matter, representing an additional trump card in Tony's hand that could turn the tide at a critical moment, but this card could not be used lightly.

The divine power clone roamed through the universe's sea of stars, crossing galaxy after galaxy with each stride. Peace and war would forever be the main themes.

A bug cautiously poked its head out from a planet, its body still stained with the vengeful spirits and blood of the dead.

This was an ugly bug, entirely green, with six compound eyes and a ferocious physique; its body was a full size larger than a human's.

Seeing Tony suddenly stop, the bug let out an excited shriek and excitedly pounced towards Tony, its mucus-dripping proboscis opening as it buzzed at him.

“The Annihilation Wave has become this rampant?”

Tony's expression remained unchanged as he crushed the disgusting bug with a single palm.

More bugs flew out from the destroyed planet, a dense swarm, emitting various sharp sounds. There were even some bugs skilled in telepathy, fearlessly launching psionic attacks at Tony, attempting to corrupt his willpower.

This planet was a fringe world ruled by the Skrull Empire, usually unnoticed by anyone. Now that it had been attacked by the Annihilation Wave, leading to the extinction of life, it was even less likely for any news to spread.

The Annihilation Wave had already emerged from the Negative Zone on a large scale, launching covert attacks on several nearby galaxies.

Tony looked at these bugs, varying in size, color, and abilities, and fell into thought. He lightly waved his hand, and powerful divine power fluctuations surged forth, his entire being vanishing from the spot in an instant.

The next instant, Tony appeared in the center of the insect swarm. Surging divine power erupted, transforming into a colossal torrent. Heavy and highly destructive divine power particles violently bombarded each bug, instantly dismembering these disgusting creatures.

“Everyone fall back! I’ll deal with him!”

A strong swarm soldier, raising its scythe-like tentacles, furiously pounced towards Tony, but was shattered by a divine power blast Tony casually flicked out.

The battle quickly ended. Tony killed all the bugs, pondered for a moment, then swiftly returned to Cybertron.

The outbreak of the Annihilation Wave would bring misfortune to many galaxies. Of course, Tony didn't care at all about these lowly bugs, but at this point, the Cybertron System would inevitably be affected.

The Annihilation Wave was a terrifying race in any universe; their mission was to destroy everything.
