Chapter 685: Annihilus: Bah! Two-legged Beasts!
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit
Annihilus, who had ruled the Negative Zone for countless years, was the leader of the Annihilation Wave.
After he digested Galactus's head, he finally emerged from the Negative Zone.
His slender green insect body, at first glance, resembled the common grasshoppers found on Earth. A wide cape hung casually behind him, and his eyes, radiating endless cold, coldly swept over the Demigods before him.
"A sentient grasshopper?" Raven muttered softly.
She swore to the heavens that she truly had no intention of insulting Annihilus; she merely spoke her mind by accident.
Annihilus's expression stiffened for a moment, then he slowly opened his mouth, revealing his fangs.
"Do you know what a grasshopper is?" Raven asked.
"I don't know, but it's certainly not a compliment. Die."
Annihilus coldly spread his hands, and a wave of cosmic rays, similar to Galactus's but fundamentally different, instantly surged from his body. Their dazzling glow suppressed the darkness, wantonly assaulting all the Demigods.
Bang!
Planets shattered, and everything within several light-years, all the matter, was completely reduced to the finest particles by Annihilus's casual attack, heading entirely towards annihilation.
This was Annihilus's power. The power of annihilation.
After obtaining Galactus's head, the residual cosmic energy within it was also absorbed by Annihilus, making him even more powerful.
One must know that even a tiny bit of cosmic energy could create a Demigod, and a bit more could imbue a Level Seven Being like a Herald.
"You despicable Two-legged Beasts, you hateful apes, all of you should die," Annihilus said coldly.
As the aftermath dissipated, only vast emptiness and void stretched as far as the eye could see.
A faint sound emerged, and a region enveloped in a light barrier slowly revealed itself, exposing the group of Demigods protected by an unknown power.
"Such powerful power, we can't defeat him," Prima Prime said faintly, looking at the divine artifact in his hand, covered in rifts as if it could shatter at any moment.
The Star Saber, a divine artifact forged by Sai Tianjiao for Prima. This treasured sword, shimmering brilliantly like crystal throughout, possessed more aesthetic beauty and contained greater destructive power than any artwork in the world.
Unfortunately, this divine artifact still couldn't withstand Annihilus's attack.
"The sword's broken. The divine artifact you forged is too brittle. Compensate me."
Prima Prime was very serious, slowly retracting the Star Saber's power as he spoke to Sai Tianjiao beside him.
Sai Tianjiao rolled her eyes fiercely: "I told you long ago, this sword isn't finished yet, it's just a semi-finished product. You insisted on showing off."
"So what would make it a finished product?" Prima Prime asked.
"The sword in your hand is just an empty shell right now; it's missing an Energy Core," Sai Tianjiao pouted.
She had originally been planning to install an energy source for the Star Saber, which would allow it to undergo further ascension and become a true divine artifact capable of rivaling a Level Seven Deity.
She had even thought of names for the energy source.
It would be called the Leadership Module, or the Matrix of Leadership.
Annihilus's face was cold and indifferent, his grasshopper-like cheeks covered in distinct insect patterns, unlike any other life form.
"All of you, die. I can detect the stench of countless corpses of your kind on you; you should return to death with them," Annihilus said indifferently.
"Death? Her little domain couldn't possibly hold all of us."
Raven glared, fiercely waving her hand as powerful magic surged towards Annihilus. The other Demigods also acted, launching a coordinated attack against Annihilus.
At this point, no one bothered about saving face; even the proudest Liege Maximo made no comment about ganging up on Annihilus, instead striking harder than anyone else.
But Annihilus was not someone this group of Demigods could contend with. In a swift counterattack, the Cybertron Demigods were suppressed; terrifying energy, like a universe, pressed down heavily, crushing them to dust.
Magic, energy cannons, divine artifacts – these things were nothing but child's play before Annihilus.
Every single one of them was wounded.
Annihilus had become more powerful than ever before. He had devoured Galactus's head, not wasting any of the remaining cosmic energy, and hadn't even had time to use this cosmic energy to cultivate his subordinates.
"We lost terribly..." Alpha Trion grimly smiled, stroking his beard which had been blasted halfway off.
Max whispered, "I'll hold him off, you guys find a way to escape and contact Cybertron to open a Space Bridge to transport you back."
"No need, Max. Someone will come to save us. Annihilus's actions have already gone beyond the scope of conventional warfare," Prima Prime said in a deep voice.
A dazzling white light appeared, effortlessly blocking Annihilus's new wave of attack.
"For you, the mighty Annihilus, to personally attack my people, isn't that a bit excessive?" Tony sneered, looking at the giant insect before him.
"You should thank me for not killing them before you arrived," Annihilus said coldly.
Tony noncommittally replied, "You should also thank me for not strangling you before you could act. Speaking of which, I've eaten roasted grasshoppers before, but I've never had a Level Seven roasted grasshopper. Today, I'll try you for the first time."
Annihilus scrutinized Tony, this rising New God. Tony's great name reached even him in the distant Negative Zone. Although Annihilus had never shown it, he was far more belligerent now than ever before.
He was very strong; the experience of capturing Galactus alive filled him with confidence, and after devouring some of Galactus's power, that confidence further swelled.
Although Tony's reputation was built upon numerous genuine battle achievements, Annihilus never believed he would be inferior to anyone.
After all, even Galactus, who had traversed the universe for over ten billion years, had fallen.
Moreover, Tony was a hurdle he absolutely had to overcome.
"You all go back, continue to purge the insect swarms scattered throughout the Milky Way Galaxy until they are all wiped out. The other galaxies will serve as training grounds; regularly dispatch a million or so troops to battle in various galaxies."
Tony instructed the Demigods, then immediately opened a Portal, sending them all towards Cybertron.
"Remember to save me some roasted bug!" Raven shouted loudly.
Illyana also shouted.
Tony's mouth twitched, and he reluctantly nodded.
Annihilus narrowed his eyes, letting out a cold snort: "Ridiculous Two-legged Beasts, even if you are a God, you are merely a God of Two-legged Beasts. What can you compare to me?"
Saying this, as if to prove he didn't only have two legs, he pulled open his robes, revealing many legs beneath.
They were thin like bamboo poles.
Tony couldn't be bothered with this arrogant idiot. He was prepared for Annihilus's bizarre thought process and didn't care; after all, this giant bug was about to die.
Surging divine power diffused at an astonishing speed, countless divine power particles possessing a unique nature stirring up a massive storm, causing space-time itself to faintly tremble.
