Chapter 729

Chapter 713: Setting a Trap

Overall, Earth had become much more stable. Although there were always restless super-criminals, it was at least much better than having a monster appear at every turn to bring about world annihilation.

Damian Wayne's secret birth was an insignificant matter among the billions of people worldwide. No one knew what was special about this infant, Damian Wayne, still in his swaddling clothes. If there was anything special, it was that he was the child of Batman and Talia al Ghul.

Even so, no one paid attention. At most, they might be surprised. That was all.

Currently, Tony was unaware of Damian Wayne's birth. Although Ultron kept Earth under surveillance, Ultron was not God and could not monitor every single human in every single region.

However, this was only a matter of time. Damian Wayne would eventually appear in Tony's eyes.

Only Tony would be interested in Damian Wayne, because this troublesome child's future death would cause his enraged father to do something monumental.

Everyone knew Batman didn't kill—except he never held back when killing alien beings—but if someone provoked Batman's family, Batman would kill, and his methods would be even more brutal. The safety of his family was the bottom line for Batman's no-kill principle.

Batman didn't like to kill, but he was willing to go on a killing spree to protect his family.

Damian Wayne's death, his corpse stolen by the Parademons of Apokolips, forced Batman to take a desperate action: he brought out his strongest armor, which he had kept hidden for a long time, broke through countless space-time barriers, and charged into Apokolips to fiercely battle Darkseid, the God of Apokolips.

The Hellbat debuted at this time. Batman, in order to retrieve his son's corpse, completely lost his sanity, almost going mad. Ignoring the fierce opposition from other League elders, he stubbornly donned the Hellbat armor, and with a mortal body, charged towards Apokolips. And he succeeded.

All of Apokolips trembled under the Hellbat's gaze, and countless lives knelt before the Bat.

That Hellbat armor, dark red as if stained by scalding blood, instantly established Batman's formidable reputation. The Hellbat was also the strongest Bat in history. Nightmarish Batmen, God of Knowledge Batmen—all were trash. In front of the Hellbat, they couldn't even withstand a single finger, dying with a poke.

In the future, billions of residents on Apokolips were witnesses. They watched, dumbfounded, as the Hellbat pinned Darkseid's true form to the ground and mercilessly beat him.

After Ancient Doomsday, this was the second time Darkseid's true form was beaten beyond recognition by an outsider on Apokolips.

And the fuse for all this was nothing more than a group of idiotic Parademons casually stealing Damian Wayne's corpse, completely enraging Batman.

Tony was naturally very interested in the Hellbat. If he wanted to, he could activate the Hellbat armor in a short amount of time, making it his own...

That was a super weapon capable of directly defeating Darkseid's true form, far more powerful than any so-called awesome divine artifacts. Although using this armor required a significant consumption of lifespan, or life force, Tony didn't care. This drawback was insignificant.

Therefore, Damian Wayne's birth seemed uneventful, but it would eventually attract the attention of the New Gods. No one could have predicted what this infant would trigger in the future.

This was a very interesting matter.

...

On distant Cybertron, a hunched Transformer leaning on a staff was roaring at a yellowish, massive creature.

"You troublesome bug! I already told you to properly control your power of fear, otherwise, I wouldn't mind putting you on the dinner table! Roasted bugs are a very delicious dish. The fate of the Annihilation Wave will be your fate!"

Jetfire angrily struck the ground with his staff, producing dull thuds.

Parallax lay lazily in its cage before him, occasionally lifting an eyelid. Deep mockery and disdain gleamed in its sharp, yellow pupils.

"Damn it, what kind of look is that?!"

Jetfire's eyes widened, feeling insulted by a bug.

"Stupid scrap metal."

Parallax's voice echoed in Jetfire's Central Processor.

Jetfire was like a ruffled rooster, shouting loudly, threatening to make Parallax pay.

Clampdown grabbed Jetfire from behind, looking greedily at Parallax, his cold gaze like he was appraising a rare beast: "Jetfire, my friend, I think it would be most fitting to send this fellow into my gladiator arena. Countless people would surely flock to see him."

"Kaon Gladiator Arena? Megatron almost tore that place apart," Jetfire curled his lip.

Clampdown spread his hands: "What can I do? Who can stop him? Who can beat him? I think if we sent this giant bug into the Kaon Gladiator Arena, the matches would be even more spectacular."

"But your fate would also be miserable. The High Council would absolutely not allow you to do that."

Parallax's audial receptors twitched, its two eyes opening a sliver. It stared indifferently at Clampdown, who was glaring at it with ill intent. A subtle yellow light flashed, and Clampdown instantly froze, countless fears surging into his Central Processor.

A low rumble...

Parallax rose, its massive body looking down on everything, as if nothing in the world mattered to it.

It was the avatar of the universe's fear emotion, the product of countless beings' willpower. These two 'little things' before it were utterly beneath its notice.

Its narrow eyes were filled with coldness and indifference.

Clampdown suppressed the fear in his Central Processor, opening his mouth to roar something, but the next second, a blast of fear energy slammed into him, sending him flying.

"I forgot to tell you, this cage isn't very secure. At least it can't block this guy's fear energy." Jetfire grinned, looking warily at Parallax.

In the past few years, Parallax had remained silent and hadn't caused any trouble. It seemed to be honoring its agreement with Tony. Cybertron had also silently loosened its captivity somewhat, at least not sealing it as completely as at first, rendering it immobile.

But no one would overlook Parallax's dangerous nature. This sinister bug was difficult for outsiders to trust.

"I want to see Tony."

Parallax spoke, transmitting the information into Jetfire's Central Processor: "I have something that will interest him. It should benefit his plans."

Jetfire frowned and wisely kept silent, not asking about the specific plans. This was beyond the scope of someone at his level.

"You'd better prepare your words. The consequences of lying are severe," Jetfire warned.

Parallax flicked its tail, impatiently hitting the cage. Its eerie eyes were filled with countless unknown images, as if it was receiving information from the outside world.

A black figure quietly descended. Tony looked coldly at it.

"Sinestro is back. He brought a Legion with him."
