Chapter 95: Spade's Trace

In the darkness, Jerry seemed to hear someone calling his name.

"Yes, Officer!"

Years of military life made Jerry Wilder react subconsciously.

But as he shouted out, Jerry Wilder suddenly realized something was wrong.

He had left the Army five years ago.

"Corporal, B Company, 3rd Ranger Battalion, participated in the Gulf War, right leg severely injured and amputated by an artillery shell during the Black Hawk Rescue Plan! Retired due to injury!"

The person in the darkness continued to recite his information, and Jerry Wilder felt as if he was back on the smoke-filled battlefield.

Black Hawk Down was an eternal pain in the heart of the Federal Department of Defense, an event that had once led to the resignation of a Federal Department of Defense Secretary.

It was while ordered to rescue two Black Hawk helicopters that Jerry Wilder was hit by an artillery shell. Although his life was saved, due to excessive blood loss and severe wound infection, his right leg underwent amputation surgery.

After retiring due to injury and returning to New York, Jerry Wilder's life was almost impossible to manage due to his leg disability. His wife divorced him and took their daughter.

Jerry Wilder left his house, car, and all his money to his wife, leaving with nothing, exiling himself to become a homeless person.

Whenever he woke up at midnight, touching his faintly aching disabled leg, Jerry Wilder would sometimes wonder if things would have been different if his leg hadn't been disabled.

He would retire and go home, open the door, and be greeted by his wife's warm smile and his daughter's sweet embrace as she rushed into his arms.

This was also the reason Jerry Wilder didn't hesitate to sign up when he saw Oscorp's human recruitment advertisement. For him, living as a cripple for the rest of his life was far more terrifying than death.

"You have a lovely daughter!"

The figure in the darkness read out the subsequent information, touching the softest spot in Jerry Wilder's heart.

"Enough!"

Jerry Wilder roared angrily into the darkness. With his anger, his muscles quickly swelled, instantly transforming into an upright walking humanoid lizard.

Blinking his vertical pupils, Jerry Wilder stared at the figure in the darkness with cold, emotionless reptile eyes. He flexed his five green fingers, swayed his thick tail, and was about to pounce.

"Da! Weng!"

The sound of an electrical switch clicked, followed by blinding lights illuminating the Ceiling.

The incandescent lights, of unknown wattage, made Jerry Wilder instinctively shield his eyes.

However, the sudden transition from darkness to light inevitably made his eyes water.

By the time he shook his lizard head and finally adjusted to the light intensity, the scene before him made him sniff and instinctively take a step back.

Before him was a vast, clean, and simple Underground Plaza, roughly the area of two football fields.

In front of him stood rows of Soldiers, hands behind their backs, wearing only army green short-sleeved shirts and shorts.

The surrounding walls were painted white, without any markings.

Muscular white and large Black men stood in standard military posture, legs apart, all staring intently at him.

A burly Big man, nearly two meters tall, held a file in his hand, looking at him with an almost critical Gaze.

Jerry Wilder was very familiar with this Gaze. When he first joined the Federal Army, the Texas Instructor had looked at him with the same eyes – the gaze reserved for rookies.

"I hate your Gaze!"

Feeling the surging strength within him, Jerry Wilder shook his neck, letting out a low growl as he charged towards the Big man in front of him.

What was it like to have a two-and-a-half-meter tall humanoid lizard with a swaying tail charging at you?

Heavy footsteps echoed in the Training Ground. Listening to the sound, which felt like the ground was shaking, Kane's Gaze remained unchanged.

Watching the lizard man's fist, the size of a vinegar jar, swinging towards him.

Kane sidestepped, slid, and delivered an elbow strike.

Before Jerry Wilder's fist could fully connect, his abdomen took a solid elbow strike.

Bang! Jerry Wilder felt like he had been hit by a truck slamming into his waist. Intense pain, accompanied by a powerful impact.

Before he could even react, he was sent flying over ten meters, smashing heavily into the wall.

"Your marksmanship isn't outstanding, command and intelligence are A-. You originally weren't qualified to join my Spade Squad!"

Kane sent Jerry Wilder flying with a punch, as if it were the most ordinary thing.

"Before you pass the assessment, you'll be assigned to Spade Squad 3 as an assault Soldier!"

Kane hadn't finished speaking when the tall green figure lunged towards him.

Whoosh! Before he arrived, a thick tail whipped towards his chest.

Wind howled, and the air was ripped apart by the sound of breaking air from this tail whip.

Facing this tail, which could easily snap concrete walls, Kane neither dodged nor evaded. He took a breath, and a fierce glint flashed in his eyes.

He extended a pair of palms the size of cattail fans and directly wrapped his arms around the lizard tail, which was as thick as a thigh.

"Slap!"

With a crisp striking sound, Jerry Wilder felt his tail hit the opponent solidly.

Before the cruel smile in his vertical pupils could fade, he felt his entire body being swung.

Kane's thick arms wrapped around the lizard tail, lifting it and swinging it down hard.

The ground shook violently as Jerry Wilder's massive lizard body made intimate contact with the ground.

Accompanied by a series of bone-breaking sounds, over a dozen thick stone slabs were directly shattered.

The powerful self-healing ability derived from the lizard gene allowed Jerry Wilder's body to quickly recover from a series of symptoms including fractures, internal bleeding, and external injury.

But before he could fully recover, he felt his tail being swung up hard again, then slammed heavily onto the stone slab once more.

Bang! Bang! Bang!...

A series of stone dust flew up, and a Deep Pit was literally smashed into the Ground! "Enough!"

Jerry Wilder gave a strong flick, and his powerful lizard tail broke directly from the root.

After breaking free from the restraints, Jerry Wilder turned around, swinging his fist, and slammed it towards Kane's head.

"Bang!"

Facing Jerry Wilder's punch, Kane also threw a punch to meet it.

Wind gathered in Kane's fist wind.

Clouds follow the dragon, the tiger generates wind. Wind howled in Kane's fist wind, and a muffled tiger roar could faintly be heard.

In the tiger roar, the white qi explosion generated by Kane breaking the sound barrier formed the shape of a fierce tiger head with hanging eyes and a white forehead.
