The Virtual Projection System designed by Kaiba could convert the two-dimensional Duel Monsters that originally only existed on Cards into three-dimensional Projections. Furthermore, through Black Technology means, it could restore effects like Airflow and storms that appear during Monster Battles to increase immersion and a sense of presence. However, the drawback was that this function required two or more Duel Disks to be connected.
But how did that guy running towards them manage to activate the Virtual Projection System, and even give the Duel Monsters further substance, when he had his Duel Disk out but no other Duel Disk connected!?
