Chapter 240

chapter 153 part 2

And the Willpower of the Green Lantern Ring was merely a small fraction of that small fraction of the Spectrum.

The Green Lantern Corps swiftly charged towards the edge of the Universe, but soon, they fell one after another, letting out shrill screams. These warriors, who gathered the strongest Willpower from across the entire Universe, possessed no power to resist the terrifying Anti-Monitor.

A single Anti-Life Energy wave casually unleashed by the Anti-Monitor could erase countless Green Lanterns!

"Hmph, back when the Anti-Matter Universe was just born, you damned fools invaded the world that was destined to be mine... After I almost slaughtered all of you, how do you still dare to face me?"

The Anti-Monitor cackled maliciously. He and the Green Lantern Corps of the Prime Universe had a colossal grudge.

No, to be more precise, it was the Guardians of the Universe on Oa, the rulers of the Green Lantern Corps, who acted thoughtlessly and incurred immense grudges with many powerful entities.

The Green Lantern Corps was quickly annihilated, but they sent back terrifying news—the dreadful Anti-Monitor had returned, and he had begun destroying Universes again!

"Damn him! How dare he do this?!"

"Where's the Monitor? We need to contact the Monitor as quickly as possible and have him stop the Anti-Monitor!!"

"There's no sign of the Monitor in the Universe's dome. Ever since Martin revealed he was the Creation Goddess's offspring, he's been hiding..."

The Guardians of the Universe were furious and extremely panicked. Facing the murderous Anti-Monitor, they had no choice but to take action themselves.

They not only donned Green Lantern Rings of Willpower but also Lantern Rings of other colors. This was a secret they had painstakingly kept hidden, and now, facing a crisis of life and death, it was finally about to be revealed.

Fear Yellow Lantern Rings.

Greed Orange Lantern Rings.

Green, Yellow, and Orange—three of the seven common colors of the Emotional Spectrum's visible light band—were now all worn by over a dozen Guardians of the Universe.

The three-colored lights shone, maintaining their selfhood rooted in Willpower, while simultaneously amplifying their inner greed and Fear without limit. This drove the Yellow Lantern Rings and Orange Lantern Rings to unleash astonishing power, and a dozen beams of three-colored light surged towards the Anti-Monitor.

Swoosh!

Everything was annihilated. Countless planets collapsed, yet without exception, they were all swallowed by the cackling Anti-Monitor, making the Guardians of the Universe even more terrified and uneasy.

"No, I must unleash other wavelengths of the Emotional Spectrum and utilize more of its power..."

"No! Absolutely not!! This is more terrifying than our defeat and death! Don't forget, the First Lantern is being held captive by our Variants in the New 52 Universe. If we prematurely ignite multiple Spectrums here, causing a Spectrum War to erupt in the Prime Universe... then everything will be over!"

"The Death Black Lanterns will be born, and the Blackest Night that sweeps across the Multiverse will arrive prematurely. Black Zombies will devour everything! And it will erupt first directly in the Prime Universe! We simply don't possess the power to contend with Nekron; only the New 52 Universe can! If they haven't acted, we absolutely cannot move either!"

The Guardians of the Universe erupted in a fierce argument. Even amidst their newfound despair, they gritted their teeth and stubbornly held on against the Anti-Monitor, ultimately being killed one by one.

Even unto death, they did not ignite new Spectrums. They knew deeply what igniting more Spectrums meant; it was something more terrifying than mere Death. They would all turn into Zombies, becoming puppets controlled by the horrifying Nekron.

And there would be no possibility of returning to their original state or even being resurrected.

Chapter 294

Oa, which had stood for countless ages in the Prime Universe, transformed into a mere firework in the Universe.

Earth's Green Lantern, John Stewart, who succeeded Hal Jordan, was the first to learn through his Green Lantern Ring that Oa had been destroyed and the Green Lantern Corps completely annihilated.

"So, I'm the only Green Lantern left in this Universe?" Stewart's face was grim.

"Accurately speaking, one and a half. As long as Hal Jordan is willing to pick up a Green Lantern Ring again, he will still be a great warrior."

A voice emanated from the Green Lantern Ring.

Each Lantern Ring possessed an almost AI-like program system, assisting Lanterns in acquiring knowledge and transmitting information.

By the time Stewart found Hal Jordan, the Anti-Monitor had already arrived in the Solar System and officially begun his war against the Justice League.

"Superman isn't in the Prime Universe; he went to Apokolips!!"

"Then find a way to summon him back! With Superman's speed, he can fly back quickly!"

"No, he didn't go to the Prime Universe's projection of Apokolips; he went to the real Apokolips!"

The heroes frantically besieged the Anti-Monitor. Many of them had participated in the great war against the Anti-Monitor, and it was they who personally contained the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

But now, they were shocked to discover that this Anti-Monitor before them possessed even more terrifying power. A casual strike could take down a Superhero!

"We can't hold out much longer like this... Constantine! Zatanna! Doctor Fate! You, the world's most powerful magicians, bring Superman back! Hurry!"

Wonder Woman roared, immediately raising her Shield, but she was sent flying by a single blow from the Anti-Monitor. The Shield personally bestowed upon her by Zeus also shattered immediately after blocking that attack.

"The heroes of the Prime Universe, their combined strength crushes that of all other Universes..."

The Anti-Monitor frowned as he watched this scene.

All ancient Deities knew that the Prime Universe was the most special, both before and after the Crisis on Infinite Earths erupted. Every Superhero here possessed unique abilities, seemingly blessed and protected by the entire Multiverse.

Perhaps it was because this was Earth-0, as many Deities speculated, that it appeared so special—because it was the starting point of the Multiverse. Otherwise, there was no explaining why the heroes of this world were so powerful.

The Deities who had fallen at the hands of the Prime Universe's Justice League were more than just one or two. The Anti-Monitor was merely one of them. Beings like Trigon, Spectre, and Mister Mxyzptlk, who could effortlessly destroy Multiverses, had all suffered greatly on Prime Universe Earth.

And the Superman of the Prime Universe made even the Deities' scalps tingle.

"It's useless. Even if you manage to call Clark back in time, it won't be of any use... He merely possesses the aptitude and potential to become the next Golden Superman, but until these are transformed into true power, they are completely worthless."

The Anti-Monitor seized Superboy, a terrifying light erupting from his eyes, and with a thunderous roar, he annihilated Superboy into dust. All his Energy was completely devoured by the Anti-Monitor.

Superhero after Superhero died in succession.

Meanwhile, the Prime Universe's Superman had, not long ago, just rushed to the real Apokolips via Earth's magic array.

"So this is Apokolips within the God Domain..."

The Prime Universe's Superman looked at this scene with a solemn expression.
