Chapter 304

Chapter 296: Let's Call Him Wangcai! (Fifth Update)

The terrifying magic formation that covered Earth gradually retracted. In the sky, the complex and strange symbols began to fade, and the formless pressure slowly dissipated.

Of course, ordinary humans were completely oblivious to this pressure, and even superhumans with no knowledge of magic felt nothing.

As all sorts of bizarre incidents continued to occur, the psychological resilience of Earth's inhabitants rose in a straight line.

For instance, when the magic formation disappeared, many people just calmly glanced up at the sky and said, "Oh? Huh, looks like it's back to normal?"

And that was it.

They went back to whatever they were doing.

Everyone was gradually becoming incredibly nonchalant.

The disappearing magic not only brought relief to those in the know but also to a poor little dog.

The super-dog from Krypton quickly perked up, vigorously shaking the water from its coat. Its eyes grew bright and alert, shining like a pair of large lightbulbs.

The grace of the Yellow Sun blessed the lifeforms of Krypton. This white Kryptonian dog also began to crazily absorb the sunlight. Every one of its cells cheered once more, one after another, as its immense energy rapidly began to recover.

The Kryptonian dog grew even more spirited, all its fatigue and stress vanishing completely.

But the moment it tried to use its superpower, it whimpered and collapsed painfully onto the ground.

A terrifying cacophony instantly flooded its ears; never before had it received such an overwhelming amount of noise at once. The sound of people talking, of objects hitting the floor, even the sound of blood flowing through living creatures—it could hear everything with perfect clarity.

"Oh my, what's wrong with you?" Wanda jumped in fright, quickly lifting the little white dog out of the water basin. She grabbed a white towel and hurriedly dried the water from its fur.

She thought the little dog either disliked baths or had some kind of hidden illness.

Yet, in those few short seconds, Krypto, possessing a high-level gene, had already successfully adapted to the noisy environment and became active again.

He especially enjoyed Wanda's touch, squinting his eyes as his small tail began to wag happily once more, though it did stop for a noticeable moment.

In that instant, it clearly contemplated its life as a dog, looking somewhat resigned to its fate.

But unfortunately, the moment his superpowers returned, he decided to leave.

His abilities of super smell and super speed gave him the confidence to find the descendant of the House of El on this planet.

Krypto squinted, letting out two comfortable barks. He gave Wanda a reluctant glance and turned to leave in search of the heir to the House of El.

But just then, a portal crackling with golden sparks suddenly opened, and a figure who would become the nightmare of the latter half of his life appeared.

Tony, dressed all in black, returned from Kamar-Taj, his eyes immediately falling upon the strange little white dog.

"Huh, this little dog..." Tony raised an eyebrow, a peculiar look flashing in his eyes.

Tony immediately noticed its life signature, as dazzling as the Sun, and its small frame that held the strength of a continuous mountain range.

Under the gaze of a demigod, the little dog's spirit shone with a peculiar light, far surpassing that of countless ordinary humans.

The little dog also looked up, its fur standing on end. Its tail rose high as it bared its teeth, glaring at the suddenly-appeared Tony with a fierce and wary expression.

The first meeting of man and dog was destined to seal the miserable fate for the latter half of the great Krypto's life.

"Isn't he cute? I picked him up off the street!" Wanda cheered, throwing herself into Tony's arms and showing him off.

"Picked... him up? Cute, very cute."

Tony's gaze grew even stranger. After a moment's thought, he largely understood what had happened.

He had personally led the team to kill Azazel, going so far as to open numerous magic formations to cover Earth and bombard the pocket dimension from afar.

And magic power was second only to Kryptonite of various colors in its destructiveness to Kryptonians. This poor Kryptonian dog had the misfortune of being caught at a bad time, suppressed to the level of an ordinary dog, and just happened to be brought home by Wanda.

A smile tugged at the corner of Tony's mouth as he stepped forward, slowly approaching the peculiar dog.

The little white dog was very wary at first, especially when it felt the dense magic power emanating from Tony, which was badly suppressing the cells within its body.

No one would willingly experience the feeling of suffocation.

But upon smelling a scent similar to Wanda's and seeing her attitude, it knew this was "one of their own" and toned down its ferocity.

It still maintained a basic level of vigilance, however.

"Wanda, I'm hungry. Go make me something to eat," Tony said, patting her little butt with a look of doting gentleness.

Wanda yelped, blushed, and shot Tony a look. "What do you want to eat?"

"Steak. Medium-well," Tony said with a smile.

Wanda agreed and happily ran off to the kitchen. Her only job was to cook the steak. As for medium-well or medium-rare, he should be grateful if she didn't burn it to a crisp. What more could he ask for?

The little white dog, Krypto, gave Wanda one last grateful look, and then, mimicking a human, let out a deep sigh and stuck out its tongue.

"Hahahaha... Woof!"

"Don't worry, you'll get some in a bit!" Wanda called out.

Krypto's face was a mask of contemplation, full of philosophical thought. Finally, it gritted its teeth, turned, and prepared to activate its super speed to leave.

But just as it took a step, a large hand clamped down firmly on its tail, the grip growing tighter and tighter.

Krypto was furious. It spun around to bare its teeth and teach this foolish Earth Human a lesson.

But this human in black was staring straight at it with an even more dangerous gaze.

"Where do you think you're going, Kryptonian creature?" Tony said slowly, his voice low.

Krypto's expression changed instantly—a dog making a horrified face was quite comical.

"Woof woof woof!"

"Heh, a creature with such low resistance to magic. In the entire Universe, only Kryptonians are like this. Your racial advantages are as obvious as your racial weakness."

Tony crouched down and extended a hand. He conjured just a small amount of dense magic, which immediately placed immense pressure on the Kryptonian creature's gene.

As the magic power flowed out, the sun-like energy inside the dog began to drain away at a frantic pace.

Krypto cried out in terror, only to discover in horror that it couldn't make a sound. The terrifying human, like a demon, stared at it with a dangerous expression, as if appraising a rare collectible.

"Does this dog have a name?" Tony shouted, receiving a "No" in response from Wanda.

"Excellent. From today on, your name is Wangcai. It's a name with special meaning, symbolizing good fortune and luck."

Tony pressed the little dog to the floor and leaned in close to its drooping ear, whispering.

"Thinking you can run after stepping through the doors of my tony's household? Who the hell gave you that confidence? Even if that guy Kal-El came in person, he couldn't dream of taking a dog from me."

"From now on, you are the dog of my manor, Tony's manor. Your name is Wangcai!"
