Chapter 312

Chapter 304: Mephisto Reappears!

After a brief exchange, Thor finally understood what was going on, and his gaze towards Wong became somewhat strange.

An indescribable awkwardness.

Wong’s small eyes narrowed, staring menacingly at Thor without uttering a word, sending shivers down one's spine.

Even Thor, easygoing as he was, couldn't help but change his expression, showing some displeasure.

"Must you look at me like that?" Thor awkwardly drank a beer, saying with annoyance.

"How do you want me to look at you? Do Kamar-Taj Sorcerers usually have pleasant expressions for Deities like you?" Wong snorted.

Thor's expression also darkened: "At least Asgard defended Midgard, protecting your planet from external threats."

"Which is why Ancient One didn't wipe you out completely back then!" Wong retorted stiffly.

With a *bang*, Thor slammed his mug onto the table, beer splashing out and drenching a large part of the surface. Thor, his face full of wrath, stared at Wong, "Are you provoking me?"

"No need, you're not my opponent," Wong said curtly.

Thor was furious, his already fragile self-esteem taking another heavy blow.

As Odin's son, he couldn't even defeat the Sorcerer Kamar-Taj sent to monitor him!

If he still had Mjolnir, let alone this Wong in front of him, even if the new Sorcerer Supreme came and challenged him, he'd dare to fight!

But his Mjolnir was currently in the hands of Kamar-Taj's master, and he still had to beg for it back... it was truly a tragedy.

He was even more worried that Tony might get greedy and renege on returning his Mjolnir.

Diana stood up at the opportune moment, her tall figure donned in a long black gown, radiating allure. However, none of the people around her could be swayed by beauty, and Jane still held a trace of hostility towards her.

"Tony is a reasonable person, but he's also very cunning. There's a reason he became Sorcerer Supreme. If possible, you don't need to compete with him."

"Thor, you don't need to prove anything to others, because you are already the God of Thunder and don't need to prove it," Jane quickly said, then shut her mouth.

Clever as she was, she had realized that the Earth's Guardians and Deities had an extremely bad relationship, and seemed to have even gone to war.

Mortals fighting Gods – such a legendary event was actually a fact!

Humans rising up to slaughter Gods!

The thought alone was thrilling, but her intelligence wisely led her to keep quiet.

Because she was superfluous here, and could be dismissed at any moment.

Thor felt a warmth in his heart and looked at Jane with gentle eyes.

Diana maintained her smile, politely refusing those who approached to flirt. As she left, she said to Thor: "Actually, you don't need to treat the people of Kamar-Taj as enemies. That incident happened almost a thousand years ago. Dozens of generations of Earthlings have passed, and very few people know the situation back then."

"The animosity towards Deities is more out of habit."

That hit hard. Have Earthlings become accustomed to disliking Deities?

Thor felt a strange pang in his chest, then remembered he had no Mjolnir, making him just a stronger Mortal, and his spirits sank again.

He recalled the Sorcerer Supreme's warning. He also wanted to possess the heart of a king, but how exactly did one achieve that? He only had one last chance to retrieve his Mjolnir.

The Earth's Sorcerer Supreme had no need to fear Asgard.

Thor stared blankly at the beer mug in his hand. Tony's assertiveness had indeed surprised him. But this was only normal; assertiveness came from strength. Someone capable of enslaving Dormammu naturally had the right to be assertive—even if Tony was still only a Demigod.

The group chatted for a while longer before Diana was the first to leave.

She had only come to greet the Prince of the Asgardian Pantheon; as someone from Paradise Island, she had no need to get involved in the conflict between Asgard and Kamar-Taj.

Moreover, Paradise Island's duty was to protect Humans, and such battles between Mortals and Deities were something Paradise Island would rarely participate in.

Unless, Zeus decided to activate Paradise Island as a hidden weapon.

But the Olympus Pantheon had long since ceased contact with Paradise Island, as if they had forgotten them entirely.

After a long while, Thor stumbled out of the bar, drunk, with Jane laboriously supporting him.

Wong gave Thor a cold look, opened a Portal in advance, and left. A fallen prince stripped of his Divine Power, he was certain, would pose no threat to Earth.

As for Thor encountering any mishaps? What did it matter to him? Kamar-Taj wasn't a babysitting service. Even if something happened, it was Odin's own fault for foolishly exiling Thor to Earth.

The sky was dim, sunlight completely hidden.

But an Aura far more loathsome than darkness silently permeated the air.

Thor was now a Mortal, completely unaware, and Jane even less so.

The man and woman leaned on each other, struggling to walk. If nothing unforeseen happened, these two depressed, drunk individuals would definitely have something happen between them.

A man and a woman drinking together, and both getting drunk, was in itself the most obvious hint.

But trouble unexpectedly arrived. The Archdemon who had been eyeing Thor for a long time seized the opportunity to confront them.

Jane quietly fell unconscious, losing awareness.

"Jane? Jane? Are you asleep?" Thor called twice, then smiled helplessly in his drunken stupor, carefully smoothing Jane's somewhat messy hair.

A tall figure in a formal suit emerged from the mist, with an aged yet kind face, perfectly suited for his deceptive purpose.

Archdemon Mephisto's Clone had appeared once again, resuming his old trade.

This time, he planned to take a huge risk: deceive Odin's son.

Mephisto's situation was dire. Being hunted by Ancient One across the vast Hell Universe had made him lose face entirely. Mephisto had become a huge laughingstock in Hell, with countless Demon Lords secretly enjoying the show. He even heard that bets had been placed on how long Mephisto could last without dying.

"Young God of Thunder, you appear to be in a very bad situation."

Mephisto, disguised as an elderly man, showed a gentle and approachable smile, speaking in a voice as refreshing as a spring breeze.

A dark cloud was blown away by the cold wind, briefly revealing a bright, clear moon.

The precious moonlight illuminated the Earth, shining on Mephisto's Clone, casting a long shadow on the ground. But the revealed shadow was clearly that of a terrifying creature with pointed horns.

Mephisto lightly tapped his cane on the ground, attracting Thor's attention.

This cunning and insidious Archdemon had a brand new plan: to seize the opportunity of Ancient One's absence from Earth to reclaim everything that belonged to him.

And the dispirited Thor, the reckless and foolish God of Thunder, was his perfect target.

It was risky, but if successful, he would gain everything.
