Chapter 357

Chapter 347: The Annihilation of the Chitauri

Author: Great Demon Spirit

In short, thanks to the teachings of his late adoptive father, the Kryptonian survivor, who had always kept a low profile, had just become famous in a peculiar way.

He had stolen the show by wielding Thor's hammer.

Thor's eyes turned red. His fists were clenched so tightly they trembled slightly, and he hesitated, wondering if he should charge forward and fight with all he had.

But fortunately, Clark was a good person. He tossed Mjolnir right back and even added a friendly comment, "Your hammer is awesome!"

Awesome hammer, my foot...

As Thor caught Mjolnir, his first instinct was to clutch it to his chest, refusing to let go, afraid it would vanish the moment he loosened his grip. He stared at Clark with the cautious, wary eyes of someone fending off a predator, leaving Clark utterly baffled.

This was the first time a subtle chemical reaction occurred between Clark and the Hammer of Thor, but it certainly wouldn't be the last.

After a moment's hesitation, Thor called out to Clark, "You're very powerful. You wielded my hammer with great ease..."

Thor consoled himself. In any case, anyone who could lift the Hammer of Thor must have an impeccable character. He surely wouldn't covet Mjolnir for himself...

Still, it was his hammer, so why was he always worried about someone else taking it? How infuriating...

He then remembered the wild and uncontrollable divine power that had surged when Tony lifted the hammer. Comparing that to Clark, he suddenly felt that the seemingly harmless Kryptonian posed the greatest threat.

...

Tony couldn't be bothered to get involved in the suspicion between the two, nor did he have any intention of befriending Clark.

Influenced by his adoptive father's ideals, even though Clark was righteous at heart, he was extremely careful to hide his special abilities. He was content to live as an ordinary farmer, occasionally picking up odd jobs at a bar.

How did Superman's adoptive father die? In a tornado, while Clark stood only a few dozen meters away.

His adoptive father had refused to let Clark save him in public, choosing to die peacefully to protect his son.

This event had an immense impact on Clark's worldview. His adoptive father would rather die than allow his son to reveal his superpowers.

So, for now at least, there was no need to befriend this son of Justice. Superman never belonged to any faction; he only served Justice itself. The time would only be right when Zod and his followers came to Earth to seize the Codex of Life.

Tony looked up, shot a cold glance at the silent, pensive Loki, and sneered. Ignoring him, he took flight and charged brazenly toward the Time-Space Tunnel.

Within a mere three seconds, his speed surpassed four times the speed of sound and was still accelerating. Generating a sonic boom, Tony easily crossed the several-kilometer distance.

Tony completely ignored the dense swarm of troops pouring out. His expression was cold as he stared straight ahead, carving an arc right through their ranks.

He could see Megatron and the others bogged down in a sea of enemies and could clearly hear Starscream shrieking like a stuck pig.

"Let's retreat! My body can't take it anymore..."

"Can't take it, my ass! You don't even have a scratch on you!"

"Lord Megatron, my energy is half-depleted—no, two-thirds gone! The enemy is about to use their star destroyer cannon! We should pull back... Dammit, what are you laughing at?"

Starscream's eyes darted about as he unleashed his full arsenal, slaughtering the Chitauri. All the while, he was scheming and whining to the frenzied Megatron about his predicament.

【Energy: 50,000/60,000】

Although he had only consumed ten thousand units, he had to feign exhaustion. Starscream glanced over and saw his little subordinate holding back a laugh with a strange look on his face. A surge of anger washed over him, and he cursed.

The subordinate faltered for a moment and was instantly struck by dozens of blasts, leaving him in a sorry state. Suppressing his own rage, he shot Starscream a vicious glare.

"What are you looking at? I'm your superior! You cannot disobey my orders! Hey, hey, it's the Creator!" Starscream's anger instantly turned to joy, thinking Tony had come to rescue him.

But Tony only gave him an amused glance as he flew past, issuing an order to Megatron: "Block the entrance. Eliminate as many of these Minions as you can, and prevent anyone else from entering the tunnel."

"No problem. Did you hear that, Starscream? If I hear one more word of nonsense from you, I'll snap your neck!"

Well, Starscream had taken the heat again. The order had been for Megatron, yet he was the one getting scolded.

Megatron didn't offer to follow Tony to the other side of the tunnel to fight, and this was one way he differed from Optimus Prime.

Had it been Optimus Prime, he would have at least voiced his concern and offered to follow. But Megatron didn't think that way. His logic was simple: if you really couldn't handle it, you would tell him. If you said nothing, he would assume you were fine.

Besides, Megatron trusted that Tony could handle it. Since Tony hadn't asked for his help, he wouldn't offer it.

After all, he was the Creator...

Tony shot straight upward like a sword. Tens of thousands of Chitauri and numerous Leviathans were pierced as if they were made of paper. His eyes seemed to burn with an all-consuming fire, yet they were as cold as ice, filled with a chilling killing intent.

The Time-Space Tunnel wasn't long at all; in fact, it was quite short. At his speed, Tony quickly reached the other side. Bathed in the light of the nearest star, the massive Chitauri warship fleet looked like a mountain range stretching across the void of the universe.

It was huge. Incredibly huge. The flagship alone was comparable in size to Earth's Eurasia. A warship that frighteningly large, its main cannon could destroy planets.

Even without firing a shot, if this giant toy were simply crashed into Earth like a meteorite, it could flip the Eurasian plate, knock the planet from its orbit, and turn it into a dead world incapable of supporting life.

Upon seeing the warship for the first time, Tony couldn't help but marvel. What a big toy.

But that's all it was—a big toy. To a demigod, as long as you weren't hit head-on by its star destroyer cannon, the warship was little more than a means of interstellar travel.

A large number of smaller warships mobilized at once, but in Tony's eyes, they moved as slowly as snails.

The Power of the Allspark began to activate. Countless particles swept through the expanse of space, surging toward the Chitauri warships.

The smaller warships were instantly animated, turning to crash into the vessels beside them. One moment, the Chitauri warships were an imposing threat; the next, they were attacking each other like mad beasts.

Some warships even transformed directly into gigantic Transformers and began firing wildly, much to the horror of countless Chitauri.

Countless streams of knowledge were absorbed by Tony and stored within the Allspark. More and more warships fell under his control, but he disposed of most of them as cannon fodder. He had no need for so much junk.

The flagship and a handful of smaller warships were all he needed.

A scene like something from a horror movie played out in the cosmos. The mighty fleet, which had once struck terror across the universe, was now being manipulated by an invisible hand like a mere toy. Amidst the rapidly spreading explosions, shrapnel flew everywhere, becoming cosmic debris countless times more dangerous than any missile from Earth, drifting off toward unknown destinations.

No matter how the Chitauri resisted, it was futile. Drowning in endless despair, they met their doom.

And thus, this fleet fell into Tony's hands.
