Chapter 368: Trigon's Advent!
In the distant center of the universe, stars shone brightly, and countless brilliant civilizations reflected each other's glory. Throughout their long histories, they composed magnificent epics that adorned the dark night sky of the universe, adding a splash of vibrant color to this cold world.
Every civilization, every life, is one of nature's greatest miracles. Yet, before a single, shining pearl, all these miracles seemed to pale in comparison.
Agalas Sanctuary, a beacon in the entire universe, illuminated its central region. With its warm brilliance, it radiated in all directions, freely spreading its magnificent glory.
Justice, sanctity, light, brilliance...
All beautiful words could be used to describe Agalas Sanctuary. The noblest morals, the most harmonious society, the most flawless framework imaginable by humans—in Agalas Sanctuary, all of these were commonplace.
It was the pearl of the universe, a synonym for all that is good.
Agalas Sanctuary.
On a square so vast it seemed to stretch for countless miles, innumerable mages in white robes gathered. Regardless of their strength, every single mage had come. Their expressions were solemn, filled with the conviction of pilgrims as they converged, forming a tight circle around a little girl at the very center.
The little girl at the center wore an out-of-place black robe. The powerful, dense demonic aura that occasionally emanated from her was startling. She cowered, pulling her clothes tighter, struggling to endure the sacred atmosphere of the Sanctuary.
For a demon, the sacred magical energy that permeated Agalas Sanctuary was more agonizing than poison.
The Elder, wearing a smile, slowly walked up to Raven. His kindly expression never faltered, showing no signs of rejection or displeasure at her identity as a demon.
"Child, you will soon be free from your suffering. We will expel all the demonic bloodline from your body. You will be free from nightmares forever and will not follow your mother's path."
The Elder patted Raven's head with a touch of pity and sighed.
Such a pitiful child, born with such a dense demonic bloodline... What was most moving was that the evil within the bloodline had not corroded her soul; she had still maintained her own kindness and purity.
This was the very reason Agalas Sanctuary was so determined to help her.
A child who held true to her heart amidst darkness, stubbornly striving for the light, should not be forsaken.
"I can feel it. He's coming, he's coming soon..." Raven was terrified. Her small face turned deathly pale as she frantically clutched the hem of her robe, looking up at The Elder with pleading eyes.
"Maybe... maybe you could..."
"Impossible!"
The Elder refused, patting Raven's head and sighing. "Agalas Sanctuary will never kill one person to protect another. A Sanctuary that would do such a thing has no reason to exist."
"But that demon... he..."
"Darkness will ultimately be expelled by the light, even if our enemy is the legendary Trigon!" The Elder raised his staff high. From all directions, the countless mages of Agalas Sanctuary cheered loudly, as if performing a sacred ritual.
But they had no idea what kind of being Trigon truly was.
The distance between the Multiverse and Hell seems short. Thanks to countless strange contracts, creatures like demons are a common sight in the Multiverse.
In reality, however, the two are separated by the terrifying Speed Force Wall and the vast, boundless Sphere of the Gods.
Hell itself is merely one of the many worlds within the Sphere of the Gods.
And yet, the sheer area of that single realm, Hell, is boundless—comparable to the sum total of countless universes and simply beyond description.
Despite how common it is to deal with demons, the ones the Multiverse encounters and the information it possesses about Hell wouldn't even begin to describe the most remote corner of the true realm.
As for a creature of legend like Trigon, his power was on another level entirely. His sins were innumerable and his nature malevolent, but the true extent of his might was fundamentally beyond the comprehension of low- or mid-level demons.
Because whether they were mid-level or low-level demons, they were little more than fodder to be instantly killed. Even a high-level demon would die from a single glare from Trigon, lacking even the qualification to face him directly.
Only a handful of Demon Lords understood how terrifying, how utterly hopeless, the gap between themselves and Trigon truly was.
Even one as powerful as Mephisto was but a trifle before a Demon King like Trigon; a single finger could crush countless beings like him.
However, even if the mages of Agalas Sanctuary knew how truly terrifying Trigon was, they would not retreat. Given their character and their beliefs, they would never give up, even if there was only a sliver of hope.
The reason Agalas Sanctuary was recognized as the first and only true "Sanctuary" was not due to its strength alone, like Kamar-Taj, but because of the ideals it embodied.
From within the darkness, they painstakingly pursued the faintest glimmer of light. Like moths to a flame, they would never abandon that light, even if it meant being burned to death.
That hope is what Agalas Sanctuary painstakingly pursues. That hope is the very essence of its people's lives!
All that is beautiful, all that is sacred, all hope, and all unwavering devotion—this is Agalas Sanctuary!
The most brilliant Morning Star in the universe!
It hangs high above, illuminating the endless dark night sky, guiding countless weak and humble lives forward—pointing them toward that existence called hope!
They spared no effort, gathering all their power and preparing for a long time with the utmost caution. Finally confident of success, they sought to cleanse the Sin and Corruption from within Raven's body.
Everyone believed that after the ritual succeeded, this little girl with a heart full of goodness would possess a physique suited for sacred magic and become a being of the light.
But... their enemy was Trigon...
He was a being born directly from innumerable sins. From the moment of his birth, he was the sole living entity, created from the endless Sin left behind by the collapse of countless worlds!
Trigon is the Ultimate Incarnation of the power of Sin!
The ultimate amalgamation of every dark side!
He is the true demon born from all sin, ugliness, hatred, despair, jealousy, madness, and distortion; from all that is grim, cold, tyrannical, and wailing. He is the sum of all negative concepts that any living being could possibly imagine!
Both Raven and Agalas Sanctuary... they had gravely underestimated Trigon!
They had imagined the world to be a far more beautiful place than it was.
But it was too late for any of that.
The shadow in the sky suddenly split apart. A boundless rift appeared in an instant, looking as if it had torn the universe asunder.
It was as if a sky-blotting claw had rent the void. A hand, with claws long enough to rival the length of a universe, had casually scratched the membrane of this universe as easily as a person might stroke steel.
Behind that rift, a being of indescribable size was moving. Through the narrow fissure, a mere corner of its vast, crimson eye became visible, and that sliver alone was enough to dye the entire world blood-red.
A red suffused with countless spirits of the dead!
The aura of Sin, madly spreading across countless worlds and through innumerable dimensions, inflicted indescribable damage upon this universe in a single instant. At that moment, countless physical constants and parameters began to collapse, and the most rigorous laws of physics teetered on the brink of ruin.
In this moment, 1+1 no longer equaled 2. It now equaled 34,567, or something even stranger...
The very foundation of the universe's existence was collapsing at a visible rate, causing its entire logical framework to show signs of disintegration.
Countless stars and planets collided. Innumerable black holes appeared without warning, devouring untold numbers of bewildered lives.
The entire world, the entire universe, was enveloped by that seemingly endless crimson pupil. An overwhelming sense of suffocation and a despair so cruel it could crush souls became the only sensations left for all life in the universe.
Such profound malice, such an all-consuming Sin...
Trigon... has arrived!
At that moment, the entire universe could not help but let out a piercing shriek! It was a wail that came from the cosmos itself, the final cry of a world that had existed for fifteen billion years!
Trigon descends
