Chapter 376: I'm Late
Horror descended. Within the colossal eyes was a deep, profound malice.
Trigon had arrived.
The moment he appeared, everyone on Earth who had ever touched the waters of the Resurrection Spring could not help but let out blood-curdling screams.
In an instant, the Court of Owls suffered a devastating blow. Their prized Talons partially died on the spot, while the vast majority fell into comas. Their genetic chains began to collapse; death was only a matter of time.
Even some of A.R.G.U.S.'s early warriors, who had been injected with the Dionysus Factor, were affected and lost their combat effectiveness.
The worst off, however, were the League of Shadows and Ra's al Ghul, who had been in direct contact with the Resurrection Spring.
"What in the world is happening!!!"
In agony, Ra's al Ghul clutched his own neck, his eyes bulging and bloodshot. Before the astonished and uncertain gaze of Batman, who stood right across from him, his entire head exploded, and his body was annihilated by the mysterious particles within him.
The Resurrection Spring was Trigon's property.
All who came into contact with its waters were subject to his influence—their cells would be obliterated, their genes would break down. It was more terrifying than the most vicious poison in the world.
This was a Power of evil, a Power that came from Trigon.
One must understand that the Archdemon Trigon was an Anomaly even in Hell, a Being with the most peculiar of origins.
He was born of darkness, born in an era before the Multiverse, a time when all Dimensions were integrated into one world.
In that ancient age before the Multiverse was born, a single Evil Core formed at the confluence of all darkness and Sin.
This Core was used by an ambitious group and sent into the belly of a woman, ultimately resulting in the birth of a baby. That baby was Trigon.
They desired to control the infant, but the very first thing the baby did upon birth was slaughter everyone present and eradicate all life on the entire planet.
By the age of six, Trigon had already driven his entire planet to extinction and stepped out into the interstellar void, leaving only destruction and despair in his wake. But because of this, he was targeted and captured by an organization composed of Divine Envoys.
The mission of the Divine Envoys was to collect and destroy darkness. They called the evil power they had accumulated over countless years the "Heart of Darkness."
But then they did something monumentally foolish. They cast Trigon into the Heart of Darkness, attempting to use evil to destroy the mighty Trigon.
This, however, only perfected him. He devoured the entire Power of the Heart of Darkness and easily slaughtered all the Divine Envoys.
Trigon was the most powerful Being among the demons of Hell, and one of singular origin. Within the demon species, none were stronger than Trigon.
This was a Quasi-Ninth Level Being who had walked out of evil and darkness, one who had crushed countless ancient gods and established his status upon a foundation of endless corpses.
At this moment, this strongest of demons had descended upon a tiny Universe, his blood-red eyes blanketing its entirety.
The light of Sin and divinity clashed, but it was not as people had hoped, with Justice triumphing over evil.
On the contrary, Justice was utterly crushed. Lost Souls wailed as, in a single instant, countless bodies disintegrated, turning into the purest mist of blood that spread through the air.
The blood mist was devoured. A look of enjoyment appeared on the massive, hideous head, sending a chill down one's spine and giving rise to a Fear that stemmed from the very Soul.
The rules of the Universe were being twisted. All the perceptions that people relied on for survival were undergoing a terrifying distortion.
This Universe was dying at an astonishing rate. With every passing second, a horrifying malady was taking place, causing the Universe itself to instinctively try and reject it.
But to Trigon, this feeble Power was simply laughable.
In the Agalas Sanctuary, countless sorcerers gathered together, roaring and shouting as they activated the most powerful magic formation, desperately squeezing out every last bit of their strength.
But before Trigon, this was even more insignificant.
Trigon's lowered head shrouded the sky. Six eyes, filled with Sin and slaughter, looked down upon the Agalas Sanctuary. The terrifying pressure from the Divine Realm crushed the very things the sorcerers of the Agalas Sanctuary prided themselves on, piece by piece.
Their Souls, their self-respect, their pride, their hope—all were easily obliterated by Trigon.
This horrifying demon, the strongest Archdemon since ancient times, watched the Agalas Sanctuary, watched as the countless elite sorcerers died in agony, watched as that world of sacred light gradually grew dim and sinister under his distortion.
Light was crushed by darkness, Justice was defeated by evil.
Atop Trigon's head, two sharp horns that looked as if they could pierce the Multiverse symbolized his status as the supreme demon.
His body, as red as magma and blood, was only partially revealed, yet it gave the impression that he could collapse the entire Universe and easily destroy countless worlds.
His aura, filled with the ultimate Sin, swept over everything, destroying the rules, shattering the foundations, and spreading at an appalling speed, twisting the minds and souls of all life within its range.
At this moment, countless people knelt, raising their hands high, their eyes blood-red. With a sense of sacred pilgrimage, they howled madly, desperate to offer everything they had to their master.
"I've found you, my little daughter..."
Trigon's voice echoed from the Endless Blood Domain. A terrifyingly large, red hand descended, reaching for the small, trembling figure.
Raven. This was his daughter, the warrior he valued most—at least, she was far better than his three useless sons.
Raven's face was pale white. The demonic bloodline in her body began to boil uncontrollably, growing scalding hot. Four blood-red eyes opened, and an extremely dense demonic aura began to radiate from her.
She stared blankly at her surroundings. The figures who had cared for her so much in the past were dying without any power to resist. They couldn't even withstand a sliver of the aura Trigon casually leaked. Their minds were twisted, their Souls sent to Annihilation.
They went mad. Their noble morals and pure minds vanished in an instant. One by one, they were overcome by a blood-red haze and began frantically attacking those around them, biting and tearing like rabid dogs, drenched in blood.
She felt dizzy, her body limp and weak. Her four eyes stared blankly at it all.
Everything… had fallen into ruin.
The figure high in the sky, that nightmarish figure, had caught up to her, had torn apart her support system right before her eyes, toying with her heart as if it were being devoured by maggots.
Her steps began to falter. A miserable smile appeared on her lips, her face already covered in tears. As the tears dripped to the ground with a soft patter, they were followed by a sizzling sound, corroding the earth.
Her small body trembled, cold, and then collapsed.
She truly wished she could stay down forever.
But a warm arm caught her.
"It's not time to give up yet," a calm voice said, devoid of any emotion. But at this moment, it was all the more comforting.
Raven looked back in a daze. A blue vortex was slowly closing. What came into view was a Golden Gauntlet, shining with lights of different colors.
Blue, green, yellow, red, purple—five colors in total.
But what was more glaring was the empty, hollow socket on the back of the Golden Gauntlet, starkly different from the other five positions filled with gems.
It seemed to be missing the final piece of the puzzle.
And it was the most crucial, most fatal piece.
"Demons… Every time I see you, it always makes me feel disgusted to my core."
Tony raised his head, his dark figure looking up at the sky aloofly, his expression cold. He supported Raven with his left hand and clenched his right fist.
Twelve massive figures walked out from the vortex, Divine Power flowing around their bodies.
Tony lowered his head slightly, looking at Raven with a complex expression, and said softly, "Sorry, I'm late..."
