Chapter 388

Chapter 378 On Par with Gods

"Whether this will work or not... we'll know once I try."

Tony looked up at the planet-sized head. Beneath Trigon, the holy mountain of the Agalas Sanctuary looked like nothing more than a small hill.

Trigon chuckled, his voice ringing with malice. He extended a finger, its long, sharp nail reeking of endless bloodshed, and pointed it at Tony.

A human relying on the Infinity Stones?

Merely an ant.

He had destroyed countless universes. He had lost count of how many like Tony he had killed.

Not to mention it was merely five stones. If it had been all six Infinity Stones, it might have piqued a sliver of his interest.

Tony took a deep breath. The five Infinity Stones flared to life simultaneously, and a surging, colorful pillar of energy blasted toward Trigon!

When facing Trigon, of course one had to use all five Infinity Stones at once. Only a fool would test the waters by using them one at a time.

A clash at this level wasn't just a bombardment of energy, but a confrontation involving space-time itself. A single collision directly impacted countless possibilities in the past and future, wiping out a vast number of insignificant timelines.

A Singularity... could only be fought with the methods of a Singularity. Anything else was certain death.

This single descending finger wouldn't just erase the present Tony, but also the countless past and future Tonys etched into this timeline. All of them were simultaneously suffering Trigon's attack.

Because Trigon is a Singularity, all of space-time is permanently fixed upon him. All versions of himself have been merged into his present form. He exists in the past, and even more so in the future.

If he didn't fight back in the same manner... just think about it. The present Tony was supported by the Infinity Stones, but the past Tonys were not, and the future Tonys might not be either.

If Trigon erased even one of his past or future selves, it would inflict a terrible wound upon Tony's current state. If a few more were erased, Tony would be finished.

A single timeline has countless branches. The attack of a Singularity Being is always a direct assault on the forks in that timeline, as well as the countless forks that came before it.

A single attack covered countless possibilities.

Trigon didn't even need to do it deliberately. Because he was a Singularity, everything about him was fixed. Any casual attack would, naturally and instinctively, strike all Tonys across different times and dimensions simultaneously.

But against such a careless, casual blow, a multiverse being like Tony had to rack his brains, calculating and deducing until he was exhausted to the point of collapse, just to protect his present and future selves.

It was one Tony against one Trigon, while countless versions of himself were dragging him down. The situation was completely screwed.

With a soft *pop*, the Infinity Gauntlet trembled, the power of the five Infinity Stones upon it dissipating.

"Oh?"

Trigon retracted his finger as if pricked by a needle. A look of surprise appeared on his face, as if he had found an ant interesting enough to spend some time playing with and understanding.

"Your soul... has it been fixed to the present?"

A hint of interest showed in Trigon's eyes. Stroking his chin, he waved an arm, creating a terrifying hurricane that destroyed vast swathes of rock and land, annihilating them at the atomic level.

At his level, a single glance was enough to see through every possibility of a multiverse being. There were exceptions, of course, like multiverse beings on his own level who could barely resist his gaze.

This was also why countless multiverse beings yearned for Ascension to Singularity. The gap was just too damn wide. Whether in communication or combat, regardless of whether a multiverse being was willing, they had to fucking play by the rules of a Singularity.

A Singularity's casual action required a multiverse being to desperately react, exhausting their minds thinking about and observing changes across the past and future.

Fail to do so, and they would be crushed and annihilated.

But now, Trigon had discovered something very interesting about Tony.

He discovered that this little thing's present soul had been forcibly fixed in the present by something. His past and future souls, however, still existed in a more unfixed state.

He was no stranger to this phenomenon. It was merely a Singularity artifact.

As far as he knew, things like the Anti-Life Equation, the Heart of the Universe, the Omega Effect, and the Ultimate Nullifier were all powerful Singularity artifacts.

They could destroy the multiverse and even kill Singularities at a whim.

But he never expected to encounter such an interesting human on a casual trip to the multiverse—a human who possessed a Singularity artifact.

How was he worthy?

Tony said nothing, his right fist clenched tightly as a savage expression flashed across his face. He pushed the power of the Infinity Gauntlet and the five Infinity Stones to its absolute limit, a force that nearly broke the boundary between a single universe and the multiverse. It all fused into one, intertwining, and struck out at Trigon in a tangible manifestation of thunder.

He took the initiative and attacked Trigon!

"Hmph, interesting."

A flicker of greed crossed Trigon's face as he reached out, grabbing viciously for Tony.

A Singularity artifact... perhaps it would be useful to him. So far, there had never been a worthless Singularity artifact. To think he could obtain one on a trip to pick up his daughter.

As for Tony? He didn't even know the man's name, nor did he care to. He would just kill him.

For a mere multiverse being to possess it... what a colossal waste!

Two completely different powers collided. The combined power of the five Infinity Stones, the ultimate Level Seven power from five different systems, was unleashed to its fullest extent against the mighty Trigon.

Boom!

A violent energy wave exploded, and the Agalas Sanctuary, spanning several light-years, was instantly destroyed!

Like a crow in a storm, or a small sailboat in a tsunami, it was swept away without any ability to resist, ultimately facing destruction.

The shattered world, the energy it had accumulated over countless eons, erupted all at once in a violent torrent. It was like a beast breaking free from its chains, roaring as it announced its final moments of existence to the universe.

But this sound was more like a final, mournful cry.

The Agalas Sanctuary, a legacy of countless years, was gone.

Blooming like a firework, only to be destroyed.

It became a single point of light in the universe.

Countless years from now, if this universe survived, perhaps civilizations in other galaxies would receive the images of the Agalas Sanctuary's destruction.

The explosion continued. Tony's face was savage, his features twisted like a malevolent spirit. Every once-replete cell in his body began to vent as much energy as possible, screaming, roaring, using every last drop of power.

The two universe-transcending individuals clashed violently once more, the shockwaves affecting and destroying countless galaxies. Ancient planets that had existed for billions of years shattered one after another, and entire civilizations vanished in the flames of war.

This was a god-tier bloodbath. Even though he was completely suppressed and his power was steadily waning, he had to keep fighting!

Countless people watching this battle from afar felt their scalps tingle and their hearts tremble in fear, all of them praying silently.

"Let's just hope that person can win, and win quickly..." someone said bitterly. "Otherwise, Trigon won't even need to destroy our universe; the aftershocks of this battle alone will be enough to tear all the major galaxies apart..."
