Chapter 452

Chapter 439: Sudden Outburst

In the gloomy basement, the lights flickered erratically, much like the dim, cold, and hard expression on Tony's subtly shifting face.

"How did you find me?" Tony asked.

"By chance. Although I don't know what method you used to conceal your unique trait, your essence cannot be hidden." Death's white bones were stark and chilling, her hollow eye sockets sweeping over Tony. "Among a crowd of lives all destined to end, do you have any idea how much a life completely unaffected by me stands out?"

Tony was silent for a moment.

He hadn't expected that to be the reason.

He was just unlucky to be discovered by the God of Death who holds authority over 'death' throughout the Multiverse.

"Alright, come with me. You are a life I wish to recruit. I will help you cross that final threshold and let you truly become a Singular God." Death's upper and lower jawbones clacked open and shut, emanating a deathly silence and a chilling aura.

"That threshold, I can cross it myself," Tony said flatly, not moving an inch.

"You? What do you take a Singular God for?" Death sneered, the sound like scraping bones. "The Multiverse has been rebooted and annihilated countless times. Trillions upon trillions of lives have been lived and lost, yet it is difficult for even a single Singular God to be born. Haven't you ever wondered why?"

"There are too many multiversal beings who surpass Singular Gods in many aspects—immense power, supreme intellect, unwavering willpower... yet they all failed. Only after an unknown number of universe reboots can a single Singular God barely come into existence."

"You are very fortunate to possess the most crucial, unique trait, but that is not enough."

Having said her piece, Death continued to urge Tony to leave with her.

Towards Tony, she was uncharacteristically patient, because the person before her possessed the same noble essence and immense potential as she did.

Tony was worthy of her speaking a few extra words.

Had it been someone else, like Thanos, she wouldn't have even bothered wasting her breath. Perhaps, if the mood struck her, watching Thanos run around in circles before her like a dog, desperately wagging his tail and begging for another glance, Death might have let out a maniacal laugh and said a few more words.

Towards Tony, Death had an unimaginable amount of patience.

A hand like white jade reached out. The skeletal hand, devoid of any dust or filth, was about to touch Tony.

A complex power emanated from the skeletal hand. Tony had no doubt that if this hand touched him, he would leave Earth forever.

Yes, forever. He mustn't be fooled by Death's patient and seemingly amicable demeanor. Trust anyone but Death.

To sever Tony's attachments, Death was absolutely capable of taking him away one moment and turning around to blow up Earth the next.

To torture and torment Tony, she might even play with the souls of Wanda and the others, madly humiliating and twisting Tony's own soul.

Just as she had done to Thanos.

Whenever any version of Thanos from any universe met Death, not a single one came to a good end; they all became mentally twisted monsters.

Death had every reason to sadistically torture and play with Tony's soul, turning him into a dog.

A dog no less subservient than Thanos.

"Why can't you just obediently get lost?"

Tony sighed. The helpless expression on his face darkened the instant the words left his mouth. Then, he exploded into action. The power belonging solely to a being of singularity surged forth, smashing towards the skeletal figure before him.

With a loud bang, Death was sent flying, the violent impact embedding her directly into the wall.

"If you had just let me be, I would have gladly served you in name. It's no loss to me, anyway... But as for going with you, are you delusional about your own reputation?" Tony sneered.

Since they had dropped the pleasantries, it was time to fight.

He might not be able to kill Death's true form, but couldn't he kill a damn avatar?

Theoretically, Death is immortal because she herself represents the end of all life and time.

But that only applies to multiversal beings.

Even a Singular God can die, and even Death can be injured by a being of singularity.

Tony would be more than happy to be the one to cut Death down.

If Death was immortal, he'd just have to kill her once and see.

An indescribably loud, ethereal roar seemed to emanate from Death's soul. Every part of her body became a vast, hollow vortex, possessing a terrifying power that drew in the essence of life.

This was Death's call to the living.

The end of every life is inevitably Death, an eternal slumber.

That's right. This being before Tony was Death herself. She was the death of all living things.

But Tony wasn't buying it.

"Tony!!"

Death's deep, cold voice echoed from the depths of Tony's soul. An ultimate darkness and weariness washed over him, enveloping and slowly consuming him.

In that instant, Tony intentionally unleashed a portion of the vast repository of information of a Singular God. An amount of information comparable to an entire multiverse exploded all at once, scattering chaotically and causing vibrations in spacetime. It created a frequency out of nothingness, resonating continuously.

Soul particles, far smaller than any quark, were intricately connected, each emitting an unshakeable luster. They forcefully suppressed all fluctuations in time and space. Each particle seemed incomparably noble and was far more indestructible than any matter humans could comprehend.

"Last chance..."

"I'm giving you one last chance, Death." Tony's expression was cold, a flash of brutality crossing his face for an instant. Once he made his move, there was no turning back. "Either get lost, or die!"

Upon Death's exquisitely crafted, jade-like white bones, flawless and pure, it was as if countless undead souls were writhing across the surface, letting out silent, agonizing screams. She looked at Tony with her hollow eye sockets. A spectral flame flickered within them before vanishing, as if symbolizing her rage.

"You are the first person who has ever dared to speak to me like this..." her somber voice rang out.

"Believe me, I won't be the last." Tony strode forward and, with a wave of his hand, sealed the basement door, blocking Shockwave, Wanda, and the others who were trying to rush in.

Looking down at Death from a position of power, Tony sneered and reached out to grab her.

Two Singular Gods were on the verge of a fierce battle, a conflict that would surely cause immense turmoil.

This was the Multiverse, an incredibly fragile world to beings like Singular Gods. Every move they made could cause countless nascent universes to collapse instantly.

"We will meet again. One day, you will change your mind. You will definitely come begging to me," Death said coolly.

"We'll see about that when the time comes."

"You see singularity as too simple... When your ascension comes, the many Singular Gods will know your divine name. You won't be able to hide it at all."

Death glanced at Tony one last time and departed indifferently. The moment she turned, she vanished completely. In Tony's perception, her aura gradually faded into the distance.

Only Tony remained, standing in the shadows with a slight frown.
