Chapter 497

Chapter 484: Come With Me

Just as Tony banished Doomsday and then decisively defeated Darkseid, a woman with blood-red eyes and clad in a black robe was traversing the Multiverse.

Suddenly, she stopped, standing motionless as if receiving a message. Then, she took out an instrument, took a measurement, and aimed it in a specific direction.

"Searching for a powerful warrior capable of killing Darkseid... To think that a being with such potential has appeared in my homeland?"

The woman murmured, speeding rapidly in the direction of the Prime Universe. Even if there was only the slightest possibility, she had to try and find the great warrior who could kill her father, Darkseid.

...

Tony had once again accomplished the magnificent feat of saving the world.

Although there was no earth-shattering bloody battle, the mere act of facing that monster was enough to command respect.

Unfortunately, Tony was about to leave.

He had obtained the most crucial gene sample from Ancient Doomsday, and it was time to wrap things up on Earth.

Many people tried to contact Tony, but he ignored them all. Countless people flooded into A.R.G.U.S. to find Crane, trying to say something, but Crane wouldn't even listen. This normally mild-mannered man said coldly, "When he was here, you were all extremely wary of him just because he wouldn't obey you... Now you regret it?"

His tone, laced with sarcasm, displeased many of the visitors, who turned and left.

Crane pushed up his glasses, then took them off. He pulled out a lens cloth, wiped them, and sneered incessantly.

He leaned back in his chair, listening to the faint sound of the bearings turning, and stared at the chandelier on the ceiling. He spoke with contempt, "Amanda, don't you think these people are ridiculous? They want a powerful, obedient Guardian, but in the end, they regret it—whether they're just putting on an act or are truly regretful."

"They don't want a Guardian, they want an incredibly powerful dog," the expressionless Amanda said coldly. "Just like those rich tycoons who keep lions and tigers. Lions and tigers are ferocious beasts, yet they are utterly obedient to their masters. That's the kind of Guardian they want."

Amanda stood as still as a statue, with a prominent bust and long, well-rounded thighs, her entire being radiating a terrifying killing intent.

This cold-blooded assassin from the Court of Owls also revealed a look of disdain.

Crane rubbed his forehead, turned to look at her, and suddenly asked, "What about you? Tony is really leaving this time. What are your plans?"

Amanda remained silent.

"The Court of Owls is gone. Those guys injected with the Dionysus Factor, along with the League of Shadows, all died during Trigon's invasion. Fortunately, Tony has been continuously injecting you with a brand-new version of the serum, modifying your gene chain."

Crane continued, speaking as if to himself, "Tony will travel into space to build his own planet, but someone still needs to be stationed on Earth. This land beneath our feet is his home."

"What are you really trying to say, Crane? Stop scheming, or I'll kill you." A dangerous glint appeared in Amanda's eyes.

"No, no, you've misunderstood," Crane said, a headache coming on. He sighed and said seriously, "You're the one who should be scheming. It's always been you. You can't compete with Wanda; you don't stand a chance."

Amanda fell silent.

"You're a smart woman, Amanda, smarter than anyone. You're just used to hiding behind a mask of indifference. Even now, you're a clever warrior and a ruthless killer. I've met that young girl, Raven. At least in this respect, she's actually smarter than you are."

Crane opened a drawer and took out a burlap sack-like hood. It was covered in patches and looked quite old.

This was the hood he wore back when he was the Scarecrow in Gotham City. Every time he committed a crime, he liked to put on this tattered burlap hood.

"It's been seven years... A full seven years since Tony first arrived in Gotham City, since he started changing everything. The fates of so many people changed from that moment on, including mine. I went from being a mere lackey in Gotham City to a member of today's elite..."

Crane caressed the tattered hood, feeling the familiar yet strange texture. To be honest, the sensation on his fingertips wasn't pleasant; it was a bit prickly.

In the blink of an eye, so many years had passed, and they had all changed.

While certain ambitious people on Earth were still scrambling for petty goals like "defeating superheroes," "founding a nation," or "ruling the world," Tony had already begun to build a planet.

"Stay, Amanda. You're suited for Earth, for A.R.G.U.S. Tony also needs to have reliable people stationed on Earth." Crane got up and left, giving his old partner some time alone.

In Crane's mind, Amanda was only suited for Earth because her combat power was not very high, and it was becoming increasingly difficult for her to keep pace with Tony.

No matter how skilled Amanda was in combat and assassination, how many Transformers could she stand against? One? Two?

But as long as Tony wanted, he could mass-produce an army at any moment.

The people by Tony's side should be those with immense power and potential, like Wanda, Max, and Raven, not people like Amanda and Crane.

They had a better place: A.R.G.U.S. Tony needed A.R.G.U.S. to exist, to serve as his stronghold for monitoring the situation on Earth.

*Beep!*

After closing the door, Crane's expression shifted. He took out his phone and answered the call.

Tony's calm voice came through the phone: "Crane, mobilize the full power of A.R.G.U.S. and cooperate completely with the Mutants' operation."

Then he hung up.

Immediately after, a message arrived on Crane's phone.

"Such a grand undertaking."

A look of surprise appeared on Crane's face. Not daring to delay, he immediately set all of A.R.G.U.S. into motion. Countless top-tier hackers sprang into action, innumerable superpowered individuals began to mobilize, and top think tanks converged to formulate a plan.

Soon, a message was sent out, causing a massive uproar across the globe.

In this digital age, almost no one's privacy could be guaranteed. Everyone used the internet, and in the private spaces of their phones and computers, there was nowhere to hide.

Mutants all over the world began to receive a shocking, private message.

For Mutants in more remote regions, strangers appeared at their doors, delivering a physical letter.

It was an invitation.

An invitation jointly signed by Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and the Brotherhood of Mutants.

It contained only a single sentence:

"Mutants should have a planet of their own, a new world without oppression and without discrimination."

This short sentence shocked the entire world; everyone on Earth was stunned.

A massive shockwave erupted, sending the entire world into an uproar.

On the eve of the departure of their Guardian, the savior who had saved Earth time and again, the profound meaning behind such an invitation, one that sparked endless speculation, was clear to all.

Tony had sent an invitation to all the Mutants of the world.

Come with me.
