Chapter 538

Chapter 525: The Magic Chain

Thanos's strongest team and most trusted generals, the Black Order, were nowhere to be found in the Cybertron galaxy.

A great tremor spread throughout the entire universe.

This universe is incomparably vast, but at the same time, incomparably small.

News concerning the life and death of numerous demigods spread throughout the entire universe in an extremely short time. The endless stream of demigods from the Cybertron galaxy was simply suffocating to countless life forms.

Moreover, this might not even be the full extent of the power Tony commanded. Some speculated that even more demigods were lying in wait.

This was true. The Thirteen Primes hadn't even made a move, and several Omega Mutants couldn't be bothered with the Black Order. Dormammu was on the sidelines the whole time, and the Level Seven Archmage from the Agalas Sanctuary didn't even bother to show his face.

This old mage was currently working with Tony, alongside top scientists like Wheeljack, Shockwave, and Shuri, to study the mysteries of magic and divine power.

Once they deciphered these two power systems prevalent in the universe, Cybertron would possess its own systems of divine power and magic.

They would no longer need to be constrained by others.

The most direct reality was that even Tony himself had been constantly using the power of the Vishanti, including the golden portals and a series of rarely used but very practical mirror magic.

If one day in the future, the Vishanti demanded Tony do something, would he obey or not? If he didn't, it would be unreasonable. The Vishanti had guided him onto the path of the powerful; to enjoy their favor for so long and not help in return would be unjustifiable.

Moreover, as the source of Tony's magical power, if the Vishanti truly wanted to force him to do something, it would likely cause him immense trouble, such as making the magical energy within his body become agitated.

Although the Vishanti's character was beyond doubt, what about the sources of other magic?

Especially the source of Wanda's Chaos Magic, the Elder God Korsen—a deranged deity.

"...According to our analysis, a magical source holds immense control and authority over the beings downstream of that magic."

The Level Seven old mage looked very aged, with white hair, sitting in a chair leaning on his staff. But the terrifying fluctuations of magic emanating from him could not be ignored by anyone.

"In fact, I was also researching the issue of magic sources back in the Agalas Sanctuary. Although a mage's strength grows primarily through their own research and efforts, with few exceptions, the suppression of the downstream by the upstream of a magic chain truly exists."

"The closer a being is to the source, the greater their authority, and the higher their level of understanding and control over that magic chain. They can even directly influence the magic particles within a downstream mage's body."

The staff tapped lightly on the ground as the old mage maintained a calm expression. The others fell into deep thought, deeply moved.

This was a brand new gateway. To be honest, aside from Tony and the old mage, no one else sitting here had any connection to magic, let alone an understanding or ability to analyze it.

Tony himself had speculated about this concept of a "magic chain," but he had never studied it in depth.

The reasons were simple. First, he lacked the strength, time, and talent pool. Second, he had a deeper understanding of the Vishanti and their true nature.

Back when he had just taken over as the Sorcerer Supreme, he had come into close contact with the Vishanti in his soul form.

"Then which deity does the magic of the Agalas Sanctuary lineage come from?" Tony asked.

"It comes from ourselves. Generation after generation of noble Archmages have succeeded one another, pouring their heart and soul into perfecting the magic system. When they die, their souls and bodies become the nourishment that completes the magic chain."

The old mage's expression was solemn, his face holding the purity of a pilgrim. "The very first Archmage, the founder of the Agalas Sanctuary, discovered the most basic and primitive magic through research. It could hardly even be called magic, but it truly opened a door."

"Over the subsequent millions of years, generation after generation, we have continuously supplemented and perfected it, ultimately transforming ourselves into the magical energy of the Agalas Sanctuary lineage to achieve a complete legacy."

Tony nodded. "A very heroic method of passing on a legacy. You achieved an authority that only a Deity can touch with the bodies of mortals. That's truly remarkable."

This type of legacy, creating a system on one's own, was actually easy to understand.

It was like how primitive people revered lightning and fire, worshipping them as gods. But one day, after a thunderstorm, a primitive person was astonished to find a spark that hadn't been extinguished. He then carefully preserved, studied, and grew this spark, passing it on to others.

Generation after generation, the legacy was passed down: creating fire by drilling wood, using flint, generating heat through friction, using high temperatures...

The history of humans controlling fire began. With the transmission of knowledge and practice, humanity's familiarity with and mastery over fire continuously improved, until it led to the establishment of today's human civilization.

Humans today can casually light a fire with a lighter in hand, but no one worships fire as a deity. It is simply considered an ordinary thing.

In essence, this was consistent with the legacy method of the Agalas Sanctuary—a magnificent history of struggling against heaven, earth, and nature.

Many of the magical families on Earth today, despite their generally low power and weak inherited magic, truly do develop in family-based structures. Through generations of self-research, they use hubs like bloodline and master-disciple relationships to connect, treating themselves and their kin as crucial parts of the magic chain itself, and in doing so, they constantly evolve.

Although they might not necessarily grow strong, they are genuinely developing.

"I can't make an evaluation just yet. We need to conduct in-depth research to determine the essence of the magic system and to establish a framework for assessing the possibility of creating a Cybertronian magic system."

Wheeljack spread his hands, speaking frankly.

This was a completely new energy system, its complexity even greater than that of technology. After all, magic could allow the weakest of the weak to achieve deification, putting them on par with countless elder gods and turning them into deities who could control life and death across the multiverse. The implications involved were simply too vast.

"No matter how difficult, we have to persevere." Tony rubbed the armrest of his chair, tapping it unconsciously.

The Mobius Chair gave Tony a massive amount of knowledge. Every second, every word spoken by everyone present would be analyzed for countless possibilities, and infinite knowledge from the multiverse would be poured into Tony's mind.

The more he learned, the more he understood the difficulty of establishing a powerful system on his own.

If he had no ambition, it would be simple enough; he could just build a mediocre magic system and be done with it.

But Tony wanted the pinnacle of this magic system to be, at the very least, a Level Eight being. The difficulty factor for that was terrifyingly high, comparable to frontally breaking through the Speed Force Wall.
