Chapter 533: The Death of Thanos
"Thanos..."
On New Krypton, Hant suddenly raised his head to watch the erupting battle. His expression flickered, as if he were struggling fiercely, yet also trying to maintain his sanity, revealing a trace of confusion.
Deep within his eyes, a strange glint swirled and vanished in an instant.
"I hope, Master, that you can live a little longer," Hant said with a strange smile.
"General, the deployment of the Kryptonian Legion is complete. We can provide support at any moment," someone reported.
General Hant nodded authoritatively and waved his hand. "Be ready to strike at any time. Once the Leader gives the order, we will kill Thanos."
Watching the soldier's retreating back, General Hant sighed faintly as a great shadow passed over his face.
"Tony must know that I've controlled Hant, yet he didn't kill me directly... I must find a way to get a new body and escape this place as soon as possible. There's no guarantee Tony won't try to kill me."
Hant, or rather, Ebony Maw, had a grim expression. After a long moment, he regained his dignified air, strode forward, and after a deep glance at the fierce battle in the sky, he lowered his head.
The bodies of Kryptonians didn't have high mental resistance. As long as a new advanced Kryptonian warrior was cultivated, Ebony Maw could take it over and then swiftly escape this damnable planet Cybertron.
There were too many powerhouses here, so many that Ebony Maw didn't dare reveal the slightest hint of abnormality and could only lay low.
Ebony Maw could have easily taken over the body of an ordinary resident and escaped, but that didn't suit his personality.
Kryptonians were very powerful. Why not maximize his gains? Ebony Maw was, at his core, a greedy individual.
Thinking of the advanced Kryptonian warrior currently being cultivated, Ebony Maw's heart burned with excitement. The powerful body of a Kryptonian combined with his own mastery of magic and psychic abilities...
He would possess the ability to slaughter Thanos in a direct confrontation!
This was a crisis, but it was also an opportunity! His risky move to hide inside Hant's body to save his own life had been the right one!
...
In outer space, two figures once again collided violently.
Neither Tony nor Thanos were the type to favor ranged combat. Their style was to clash directly and then viciously trade blows.
On the raging battlefield, hundreds of fierce exchanges occurred every second. Fist after fist, the terrifying combat power capable of shattering a planet was unleashed in full, making this battle zone incredibly perilous.
A single, casual exchange here could annihilate vast amounts of matter.
The power of the Soul Stone constantly tried to twist Tony's soul, but he just sneered, ignoring its ability. He threw a vicious punch, unleashing an explosion a hundred times more terrifying than a nuclear blast, and sent Thanos flying with a loud bang.
"Don't you forget, I obtained the Soul Stone long before you!"
A cold, harsh look flashed across Tony's face. Smirking, he watched as the orange light flared repeatedly, but it failed to cause him even the slightest harm.
If the Mind Stone's ability was to control the mind and guide intelligence, then the Soul Stone attacked the soul directly.
In theory, one who mastered the Soul Stone could directly control the souls of every living being in the entire universe, toying with them at will.
But unfortunately for his opponent, Tony completely ignored the Soul Stone.
No matter how high the Soul Stone's authority was, could it possibly be higher than Tony's?
A mere, ordinary Infinity Stone truly couldn't affect Tony's unique soul.
Tony was now a Quasi-Unique God. What he lacked was the realm and power of a True God, but he had long since achieved the most critical aspect: his fundamental nature.
Not to mention, Tony also possessed the Plot Gem, which was constantly shielding him from all prying eyes.
It would be a cold day in hell before the Soul Stone could be of any use against him.
Thanos was sent flying once more, crashing through the asteroid belt of the eighth planet and triggering a series of massive explosions.
Specks of fire erupted in the vast universe, infinitesimally small, just like Thanos was now in the face of Tony.
On his scarred face, a look of disbelief emerged, accompanied by an even more frenzied rage.
"How can you be so strong!" Thanos roared, his hoarse voice thundering in Tony's ears.
"It's you who are too weak. I've been constantly improving, but you have not."
Tony sized up Thanos and said nonchalantly.
Indeed, it wasn't that Thanos was weak, but that Tony had grown stronger. He was no longer the weakling from the past who could only mess around on Earth, but a powerhouse with a bright future.
A Singular God in the making—if this news were to get out, it would be enough to cause an earthquake in the Sphere of the Gods. Countless Elder Gods would madly rush into the Prime Universe, and not even the Speed Force Wall could stop them.
The tyrant Thanos, a being who had rampaged across the universe for countless years and struck fear into innumerable existences, was now truly nothing in Tony's eyes.
Even with an Infinity Stone, it made no difference.
Tony turned his head slightly, his gaze sweeping across the empty universe. His intuition told him that Death, that scheming bitch, was watching them.
His brow furrowed slightly. Tony spoke no more and charged directly at Thanos. With one punch, he sent him flying for over ten thousand meters once again.
"No one can defeat me!"
Thanos roared, yanked off his gauntlet, and threw it aside. He pried the Soul Stone from it, clutched it tightly in his hand, and lunged madly at Tony.
An immense soul power erupted. Under Thanos's control, this power rushed swiftly toward the planet Cybertron.
Madness surfaced, his tyranny unabated. Thanos wouldn't mind taking the entire planet of Cybertron with him to the grave. After all, he had already slaughtered tens of thousands of planets.
"Too late."
Tony instantly appeared in front of Thanos. Then, right before Thanos's wide eyes, with a wrenching motion, he tore off Thanos's arm on the spot.
Red blood dispersed into space.
The Eternal Titan had lost an arm.
"The times have changed, Thanos. You are no longer the invincible Eternal Titan. I will replace you, take everything you have, including your life."
Tony held Thanos's left arm, then slowly pried open the fingers one by one. He touched the orange gem with his bare fingers and gently picked it up.
Thanos let out a muffled grunt, his face contorted frightfully. But in Tony's eyes, he was no different from any other enemy he had killed.
Yes, even Thanos was no different from a chicken waiting to be slaughtered.
"You may win against me once, but you can't win against me forever," Thanos said, clutching his wound, his expression ferocious.
Tony's movements paused. He said seriously, "I can. But for now, go back to Death's embrace."
A palm passed through space and slammed viciously onto the purple skull. With a bang, it burst apart in a mess of brains and blood.
Thanos's headless corpse instantly lost all its power, going limp as it floated lifelessly in space.
With a wave of his hand, Tony collected Thanos's body, the coldness in his eyes not diminishing in the slightest.
"Let me see... what exactly are you planning..."
Tony muttered, glancing at the desolate expanse of space.
