Chapter 541: Dark Celestials
A colossal dark shadow shot through interstellar space.
This dark shadow seemed to lack a physical form, yet it was a tangible silhouette. In the regions it passed, the light of countless stars was devoured.
An indescribably immense sense of chaos caused widespread nausea and dizziness among living beings. A chaotic system of powers, mixed to the extreme, made the dark shadow seem like a plague, spreading fear and unease.
After devouring Odin and the population of Asgard, Amatsu-Mikaboshi took a little time to digest before immediately pursuing Thor's trail.
Thousands of varied divine powers were bound within Amatsu-Mikaboshi's body. Many of these powers even conflicted with one another, being diametrically opposed, and every accidental touch would trigger a massive upheaval.
Amatsu-Mikaboshi was like a glutton who had overeaten, lumbering his way toward the Cybertron system. But the immense pressure emanating from his body was enough to suffocate nearly every living being he passed.
"Hehehe, where has the little bug run off to?"
Amatsu-Mikaboshi slowly opened his eyes, revealing immense evil and tyranny. There were even bloodshot veins that hadn't been there before, and the spreading crimson seemed poised to submerge the entire universe in a sea of blood in the next second.
"Huh, Parallax?"
Amatsu-Mikaboshi glanced over in surprise, instantly discovering Parallax's hiding place. He looked on with interest, then immediately reached out and snatched at it.
A massive hand pressed down on that entire asteroid belt, closing its grip bit by bit.
A flash of yellow light erupted, and a golden, insect-like Parallax quickly flew out. Its thousand-meter-tall body hung in space as it stared coldly at Amatsu-Mikaboshi, a trace of human-like apprehension flashing in its eyes. Then it immediately turned and fled.
It sensed it was no match for Amatsu-Mikaboshi.
Amatsu-Mikaboshi snorted coldly, muttered something under his breath, and continued toward the Cybertron system.
A mere Parallax was useless to him. It was better to hurry and devour more Divine Power. Once he killed Thor, he would immediately go into seclusion for a while. After he finished digesting everything, he would attack the Heavenly Court.
The colossal dark shadow arrived. Before it, the planet Cybertron looked so minuscule, as if it would crumble with a single breath.
Just as Amatsu-Mikaboshi reached out with a cruel expression, about to destroy the planet before him, a strange power erupted wildly. A shrill, low roar sounded as a bizarre, three-hundred-meter-tall monster shot up from the ground, growing from small to large.
Its head had four eyes that bloomed with golden light. All over its body, pieces of "armor" were evenly arranged, melded together with its flesh and blood. Every second, they writhed at an astonishing speed, every piece of flesh churning.
A roar of pain escaped the strange creature's mouth. He exerted himself violently, clutching his head and pounding it with his fists.
A vast Divine Power, far surpassing anything he had ever possessed, erupted like a long-dormant volcano. Streams of Divine Power flashed with multi-colored divine light, shooting toward the heavens, but even more divine light burst forth, coiling around Thor's body.
Amatsu-Mikaboshi was stunned by this sudden scene, somewhat at a loss. Sensing that familiar yet alien aura, he was thrown into confusion. "Thor? A Celestial?"
He was bewildered.
The Celestials, long famous in the multiverse, were the color Celestials created by one of the Five Great Gods, Eternity. As a clone of Oblivion, he was naturally no stranger to a bio-weapon like a Celestial.
Amatsu-Mikaboshi's expression was as if he had seen a ghost.
"That dark body... wasn't this ancient model of Celestial driven to extinction long ago?" Amatsu-Mikaboshi said in astonishment.
Long before the birth of the Five Great Gods, in that ancient era before the multiverse was born, when time and space were a single, eternal whole, the Celestials already existed.
A terrifying being named the "First Firmament," a living universe in itself, had a body that was the very first, vast universe.
The First Firmament single-handedly created the very first model of Celestials—the Dark Celestials, the origin of all Celestials.
At the same time, the First Firmament was also the first generation of Eternity.
Subsequently, the Dark Celestials split in two and erupted into a civil war against their master, the First Firmament. The second generation of Eternity—that is, the current one, one of the Five Great Gods—personally led a large number of ancient gods into battle. Imitating the Dark Celestials, they created the color Celestials to serve as high-level cannon fodder in the war.
The final outcome was that the Dark Celestials were defeated and destroyed by the color Celestials. The cosmic life-form, the First Firmament, was besieged and killed by Eternity and the other gods. Its corpse disintegrated, and only then was the multiverse born.
The second generation of Eternity was thus able to replace the First Firmament, becoming one of today's Five Great Gods.
All Celestials existing today belong to the color Celestials and are the creations of Eternity. The legend of the Dark Celestials had long been buried deep within that cruel history, unknown to all but a few surviving gods.
But now, Amatsu-Mikaboshi dumbfoundedly sensed the aura of a Dark Celestial. Although it was just a tiny trace, it was enough to leave him utterly horrified.
"What in the world did you do?!"
Amatsu-Mikaboshi's eyes widened, his entire black-and-white face scrunching up. At the same time, an immense sense of greed uncontrollably flowed out.
He wasn't stupid in the slightest; he considered many possibilities in an instant.
But regardless of which one it was, if he could master such a method... would he ever lack Divine Power again? He could just make them artificially! Create one, eat one!
It would be far more efficient!
"Amatsu-Mikaboshi! You demon! Die!"
Thor clutched his head and opened his four eyes, which were brewing with madness and chaos. He let out a low roar and instinctively stretched out his hand. A hammer the size of an ant flew up and landed in his palm.
Thor paused subconsciously and looked down.
For someone three hundred meters tall, holding a hammer that was only a few dozen centimeters long was indeed ridiculous.
The intense pain gradually dissipated as a vast Divine Power, exceeding all the power he had ever possessed, continuously poured into his senses, leaving Thor extremely exhilarated.
It was an incomparably pure and terrifying Divine Power, on a higher level than the thunder god divine power he had previously wielded!
"It seems the augmentation was a success..."
Thor murmured. Although his appearance had changed drastically, turning him into a deformed hybrid that was neither man nor god, it gave him immense power!
That was enough!
Artificial Celestial Thor, for the first time, was brazenly exposed before the eyes of the world!
His massive flesh writhed as Thor struggled to control it and make it solidify, but he felt immense resistance and sluggishness in his senses.
"Amatsu-Mikaboshi, in the name of the son of Odin, I will avenge the millions of citizens of Asgard who died!"
Thor's eyes were red, his four pupils wide and utterly crazed. Roaring like a beast, he viciously flung the ant-sized Mjolnir from his hand.
Fierce Divine Power tore through the sky, kicking up a massive shockwave. The "tiny" Mjolnir, infused with terrifying Divine Power, couldn't help but let out a wail as it howled through the air, smashing toward Amatsu-Mikaboshi!
