Chapter 573

Chapter 560 Steppenwolf Takes Action Himself

Thousands of green Light Constructs descended from the sky, swiftly joining the battle on Earth.

Thirty hours had passed since Apokolips's invasion of Earth began. Earth had already paid the price with the deaths of thirty superheroes and casualties numbering over a hundred million.

Soaring flames and piercing screams were everywhere.

Every Parademon was an intelligent Killing Machine, carrying out efficient slaughter against its enemies.

Witnessing Earth's tragic state, the entire Green Lantern Corps was filled with immense fury. The pained wails and angry roars of the Earthlings reached their ears, causing many a Lantern's eyes to turn red on the spot as they roared and clashed with the Parademons.

"Based on the number of Parademons, I will make the following assignments. For North America, Tomar-Re will lead a hundred men..."

"Asia..."

"Africa..."

"The Australian region will become a forbidden zone. All Lanterns must obey this order and are strictly forbidden from setting foot there."

"If possible, try to use Earth's terrain as the battlefield. The enemy outnumbers us by far. The Green Lantern Corps' strategy is to support Earth's native Factions in a counterattack."

"No matter what, we must repel the enemy from Apokolips, or the entire Universe will be in peril. Protecting Earth is protecting the countless planets behind us; it is protecting the entire Universe."

Optimus Prime rapidly issued his commands, assigning Tomar-Re, Kilowog, and others to lead their respective teams.

Although these Lanterns came in all shapes and sizes, they were all Green Lanterns, all cosmic police officers. Upon receiving their orders, they immediately rushed to various locations on Earth, joining the local Factions in the fight.

Basic information about Earth had long been stored in their Green Lantern rings and transmitted to every Lantern, so no one asked questions like "Where is X continent?"

Just as the Green Lantern Corps arrived on Earth, the vanguard from Cybertron had already reached the planet and engaged the Parademons.

The Space Bridge remained perpetually open, and armies from Cybertron poured onto Earth without end, joining the Planet-level battlefield that could only be described as a meat grinder.

A Kryptonian Legion of five thousand, led by Military Commander Hant.

A force of two thousand trained Mutants joined the battle on Earth, under the command of Magneto.

As for the Transformer Legion, the number of Combat Power units at Level Two and above had already surpassed ten thousand, and as for the Level One or unranked grunts... they were an endless, continuous stream. Over a million Transformers had already arrived on Earth, locked in a Blood War with the Parademons.

Even more were still lined up on the other side of the Space Bridge, waiting to join this unprecedented Great War.

The entire planet was engulfed in a massive war. The number of combatants had long surpassed the million mark and was now approaching ten million.

And that wasn't even counting the Ordinary Humans among the populace taking potshots with their hunting rifles, a number that was simply incalculable.

"Hmph, these Parademons are so weak... Weren't they supposed to be one of the two most powerful Bio-weapons? Weren't they supposed to be the ultimate army-type War Weapon?"

Magneto sneered, casually waving his hand. The heads of a thousand Parademons were crushed by the metal helmets they wore, killing them instantly. Their bodies fell limply from the sky.

With another wave of his hand, he eliminated another thousand.

Then he secretly took a breath to recover.

These Parademons were genuinely not weak. Their average standard was Level Three Combat Power, and a versatile Level Three at that.

Three hundred thousand Parademons were ravaging Earth, and few could stand against them, battering the planet's Factions until they cried out in misery.

Known as one of the two most formidable Bio-weapons in the DC Universe, the Parademons' reputation wasn't just for show. It was a name forged by destroying one Universe after another, by participating time and again in the brutal wars between the Elder Gods.

Versatile individuals, terrifying numbers.

The most frustrating part was that the Parademons' food was the emotion of "Fear." The more life there was, and the more that life feared, the more excited the Parademons became, the fuller they got, and the stronger they would slowly become.

In other words, time was not on the side of the Earthlings, but on the side of the Parademons. The longer it dragged on, the more Fear the Parademons consumed, the stronger they would become. The death toll on Earth would rise sharply, generating even more and purer Fear...

This was the terror of the Parademons.

If you factored in their endless numbers... it was an unwinnable fight. They would wear you down to your death.

The only comforting thought was that the scourge known as Parallax was not in the vicinity of Earth. Otherwise, it would have been a complete disaster...

The brutal war continued to rage. Even with the participation of cosmic Factions, the casualties on Earth continued to mount.

On a battlefield like this, only Ability Users and those with advanced technology were qualified to join the war. Ordinary Humans with their backward weapons were truly not enough.

People like the Punisher and Daredevil could only manage to ambush a Parademon, seize its firearm as a weapon, and then hunt more of them.

Temporary defensive lines were being established, but Earth was vast, and it was impossible to cover every corner.

The sky, the ground, the oceans—battlefields were everywhere.

The most dazzling were undoubtedly the Kryptonian Legion. These Kryptonians, whose daily training included "stripping down and sunbathing," possessed immense Combat Power. Each individual could crash through and smash apart a whole group of Parademons.

The Amazon Warriors from Paradise Island, as a race only slightly inferior to the Kryptonians, also shone brilliantly.

The practitioners of "Qi" from K'un-Lun, though few in number—only a few hundred—were all masters in the application of Qi.

After receiving the Dragon Power Inheritance, the new generation Iron Fist had also joined the battle, becoming a core part of the resistance.

The Green Lanterns also made a spectacular showing. Their method of combat, relying on imagination to manifest a vast number of green physical objects, became a powerful force to rely on in the fight against the Parademons.

The situation was finally showing a slight trend toward stabilization.

Steppenwolf slowly rose to his feet, a deep sneer on his lips. He stretched his shoulders. After watching the show for so long, it was about time he got moving again.

"I haven't found the Aura of the Mother Box... According to the intel from the Parademons, it was taken by that ant named Tony."

Steppenwolf grinned, revealing menacing teeth. It was something like a smile, but a violent Killing Intent erupted from him at the same time.

"That scourge Ancient Doomsday was also banished by Tony... Sorcerer Supreme? What a ridiculous title. He's very dedicated, but dedicated people don't necessarily meet a good end."

"Across the entire Sphere of the Gods, I don't know how many people want to kill this guy named Tony!"

Steppenwolf swung his axe furiously. A tiny ripple of Power that leaked out was enough to stir up hundred-meter-high waves in the ocean, forming a massive Tsunami. There was no telling how many more Ordinary Humans would die in the colossal waves.

"This bastard dares to steal the Mother Box and banish Doomsday to Apokolips?! After I slaughter every living being on this planet, I will personally pay a visit to Cybertron! If I don't kill you, you pathetic multiversal ant, Darkseid won't spare me either!"

Steppenwolf laughed hideously, shouldering his axe and glancing around ferociously, the entire Earth reflected in his eyes.

Taking a large stride, Steppenwolf intended to get his hands dirty and slaughter this entire planet.
