Chapter 592: Cosmic God (3)
Author: Great Demon Spirit
Intense fluctuations rippled out, one wave after another, causing the entire Universe to tremble. A mournful cry echoed through the very laws of reality.
The gazes of the numerous beings flickered with uncertainty.
Steppenwolf shot him a cold glance. "In that case, let's have you, the Monitor, lead the charge. Who knows? If you succeed, you might even be able to contend with the Prime Monitor."
Mandrakk remained silent.
"A bunch of dregs! I, the Ancient God Korsen, will do it!"
A malevolent aura broke through the barrier. An incredibly ancient god of chaos had arrived. He was Korsen, the one true source of all chaos magic, his nature cruel and bloodthirsty.
He roared, extending a claw that blotted out the sun, intending to crush the insignificant Tony in his grasp.
But in an instant, a blast of magic combining three different mystical energies blasted toward him. Immediately after, a golden-yellow spark appeared in a flash, broke through Korsen's defenses, and swallowed him whole.
"Damn it, Vishanti, are you looking for death?!"
"No, no, no, we just want you to die..."
"Even if all three of you attack together, you are by no means my match!"
Korsen's furious roar faded away, quickly disappearing without a trace. The Vishanti had intercepted and taken him away.
The atmosphere instantly froze. The various beings looked at each other, somewhat cowed. They hadn't expected a Singular God to actually intervene to protect Tony.
Tony sat with a cold expression, gradually fusing his being, constructing a brand-new divine body, reshaping everything he possessed.
The light of Singularity was gradually covering the grayness.
His aura was constantly shifting, becoming more ethereal.
"If you don't make a move soon, I'll have succeeded."
Tony's indifferent voice rang out clearly. He swept his gaze over the shadowy figures and sneered.
He didn't seem panicked in the slightest.
Finally, someone couldn't hold back any longer. "How did you do it? What is the secret of Singularity you've mastered?"
Tony looked at him impassively, with no interest in responding.
"Tell me!" that person roared, filled with an immense urgency. "As long as you tell me how you did it, I promise I won't make a move against you!"
The numerous gods wore expressions of intense concentration.
There was only one secret to ascension, and even if they snatched it, only one of them could ascend to Singularity in the end. The rest would have to continue their bitter struggle.
But if they could catch even a hint of another method from that mystery, perhaps they too could become a Singular God in the future.
"Once you succeed, all information about this secret will vanish from our minds, because the secret itself is part of your singular essence. It's an information aggregate that only a Singularity is qualified to know; beings who are not singular cannot touch it."
The person spoke rapidly, hoping to get something out of Tony.
Even if he could only grasp the information for a short time, just a small hint would be enough. Perhaps he would receive some enlightenment in the future and find his own chance to become a Singular God.
The secret would eventually vanish from their minds, but the rudimentary information they could deduce from it would not.
Tony merely gave him a cold glance, then raised a single middle finger, his upright body remaining as unshakable as a mountain.
"You're courting death!"
The being was enraged, letting out a furious curse as he strode out from the shadows. His metallic body glinted with a dark silver sheen, and crimson electronic eyes brewed with fury.
An Ultron.
He was an Ultron from a certain universe who had evolved to the absolute limit, possessing dimension-hopping abilities. In the universe he came from, all the superheroes had been slaughtered by him. Even their attempts to modify the timeline were futile.
A Quasi-Singular being already possessed the ability to resist the timeline. All the heroes who had resisted Ultron had been killed.
Tony's eyelid twitched as he calmly looked at Ultron. "A crudely made piece of junk like you wants to obtain the secret of Singularity from me? Are you even worthy?"
As he spoke, he opened his palm. The golden-yellow spark danced, and three Mother Boxes abruptly appeared. Then, before everyone's eyes, they collided violently, erupting in an intense white light that shot outward.
With a boom, Ultron was devoured and thrown onto Apokolips in the Sphere of the Gods.
"Son of a..."
Steppenwolf shivered violently, his eyes vacant. He then clenched his jaw, his entire body trembling slightly as he fought back the urge to cleave Tony in two with his axe.
Tony's face was as placid as eternity itself. His eyes, as deep as a black hole, quietly watched the dissipating portal. He was completely relaxed, as if he had just dealt with a trivial ant.
An intangible pressure spread out.
"A pile of ridiculous scrap metal dares to act up in front of me? Are you looking to die?" Tony raised his chin arrogantly and sneered.
The various beings were somewhat stunned, staring at the scene dumbfounded, as if they had seen a ghost.
"Mother Boxes? The pinnacle of Apokolips's technology? And three of them at once! How did this kid get his hands on these? Steppenwolf, I suspect your Apokolips has some unknown connection with this guy who is ascending! So you..."
*Splurch!*
Steppenwolf expressionlessly retracted his axe, leaving behind a bisected corpse.
The indignant beings immediately shut up, burying their dissatisfaction and doubts deep in their hearts.
Steppenwolf shouldered his axe, his expression ugly as he said to Tony, "You wanted the Mother Boxes just to do that?"
"That's right," Tony admitted shamelessly. "Thank you for your help."
Steppenwolf's face twitched. Ignoring the suddenly fluctuating auras around them, he said with a grim face, "I've received an order from Darkseid. As long as you join Apokolips, we are willing to intervene and help you complete your ascension."
"Okay," Tony nodded.
Steppenwolf gave a savage grin. "I'll connect to the coordinates of Apokolips now and infuse you with divine power."
"Never mind, I still need to consider it," Tony refused.
"To refuse is to die!"
"You can try it, Steppenwolf. Don't push your luck!"
Tony remained seated, but his body seemed to expand without limit. A massive projection tore through the sky, standing directly adjacent to the already dilapidated Cosmic Barrier.
His form was towering, his soul soaring, his spirit boundless—all coupled with the ferocious and violent expression taking over his face.
Facing the numerous unknown beings, Tony showed not a single shred of fear. The gazes that could collapse galaxies did not cause him to waver or retreat in the slightest.
He seemed minuscule, but in reality, he was larger than the Universe. Endless light radiated outward, each beam like an avatar of Tony's power, omnipresent.
Steppenwolf laughed maniacally. The veins on the hand gripping his axe bulged, and the insane wrath in his heart was clearly palpable.
But in the end, he didn't attack. He was waiting, wanting to see with his own eyes how Tony would die.
"What do you think a Singular God is, that you can ascend so easily? What's more, you're a native of this Multiverse! You're not a resident of the Sphere of the Gods at all! Your difficulty will only be greater because there are some things you simply cannot comprehend!"
"You will regret this, Tony. You will beg me..." Steppenwolf said in a voice filled with chilling coldness.
