Chapter 608: The New God and the Demon
On Cybertron, in the vast purple forest, Tony was strolling through the woods.
The purple plants, rich in Vibranium elements, that were brought from Earth years ago had already undergone genetic modification by the Science Academy and developed into many more varieties.
From flowers and grasses to various trees, the vibrant purple of life and the dark silver of metal had become Cybertron's dominant colors. Apart from a few major cities, many vast areas still exposed their metallic structures.
Because those areas were sparsely populated and the climate was unsuitable for the fragile purple plants to survive, they were simply left barren.
With every step Tony took, the entire planet seemed to follow his footsteps, emitting a thudding sound like a heartbeat.
At this moment, Cybertron seemed to come alive, responding to Tony's every subtle movement.
Of course, Cybertron at this time still had no signs of life; it was not a life form, and even less likely to have a so-called heartbeat.
"Next, I will completely condense the entire Cybertronian system into a unified entity that can be used for both offense and defense... a Pocket Universe located within a three-dimensional Main Universe."
Tony casually caressed a small, newly sprouted plant, intentionally leaking a trace of his singular power. Instantly, the plant began to grow wildly.
"It seems I'll be merging the Dark Dimension soon."
Tony examined the plant, a blueprint forming in his mind.
Over the years, ever since Tony enlisted the Ancient One and Shazam, and numerous powerhouses collectively assaulted the Dark Dimension, countless battles had erupted between him and Dormammu. If a battle didn't resolve the issue, they would regroup and return after some time, assured of eventual victory.
After frequent engagements, Dormammu ultimately succumbed to Tony, losing his very self and ending up on Cybertron as a mascot.
Most importantly, the Dark Dimension was also seized by Tony, and its core secret was sealed by him, waiting only for this day, for this very moment.
Tony's plan was to shatter the entire Dimension, reshaping it into a massive space-time capable of encompassing the Cybertronian system, and then relocating the entire Cybertronian system within it.
A brand new space-time, a brand new world, easy to defend and difficult to attack; the entire Pocket Universe would be Cybertron's backyard. Even if the situation turned dire one day, whether it was closing the gates and having residents strategize within the Pocket Universe, or Tony directly taking the Pocket Universe and escaping to other Main Universes, it would be incredibly convenient.
And merging the Dark Dimension was merely the first, and simplest, step in upgrading the Cybertronian system.
Don't forget, billions of astronomical units away from the Prime Universe, the Nirvana Universe, with its nascent consciousness, had just come into existence. Red Lantern Hulk was stationed in the Nirvana Universe, ever ready to eliminate all outsiders and protect the newly born Gaia Consciousness.
"It's a long and arduous journey..."
Tony gave a wry smile. Although he knew it would be difficult, for some reason, he always felt... joy?
After walking for a while, he plopped down under a large tree and slowly closed his eyes, feigning sleep.
A gentle breeze rustled the leaves, and occasionally a few green leaves drifted down, lightly resting on Tony's head.
It was only at times like these that Tony could have a moment of quiet solitude. He didn't have to worry about external enemies or rack his brain thinking about the future; he simply needed to close his eyes to find a brief moment of peace.
He hadn't truly rested in a very, very long time.
And he still wasn't.
A new god had been born, and Tony's name was destined to spread throughout the multiverse. Countless large and small realms within the Sphere of the Gods trembled, and many ancient deities opened their sleeping eyes, contemplating how to treat this new god.
It had been so long, so very long, since even a single singular god had been born, so long that many deities no longer remembered when the last singular god had emerged.
For beings in the multiverse, a few decades or a few centuries might constitute a lifetime, and the universe's billions of years of existence were already unimaginable.
But for the ancient deities, for the many realms within the Sphere of the Gods, what was time? What was lifespan?
The multiverse had been rebooted countless times, so many that the deities had grown numb to it.
If not for the Living Tribunal, the Grand Judge, overseeing the Sphere of the Gods, and if not for The Flash creating the Speed Force Wall to shield the multiverse, the multiverse's fate would only be more tragic, becoming a true hunting ground where any deity, in a bad mood, could simply wipe out a multiverse with a flick of their hand to vent their frustration.
Therefore, Tony still couldn't rest. Even though he was a new god, his combat power was merely Level 7, a single universe level. To even hope to contend with those monsters from the Sphere of the Gods, he wouldn't stand a chance without Level 8 combat power.
The Cosmic Chasm-level difficulty of leaping from single universe level to multiverse level would only lead to even greater despair.
Tony closed his eyes, but it didn't mean he was truly resting peacefully, because someone didn't want him to rest.
...
Earth.
Red Skull had rallied numerous enforcers, forcefully unified the warring Hydra factions, almost destroyed S.H.I.E.L.D., and fought the superheroes tooth and nail.
Red Skull himself wasn't strong in combat power, but his mind was sharp. He was skilled at manipulating people and adept at killing. During his eighty years imprisoned in the Soul Stone, he hadn't done much else but learned many secrets and gathered much intelligence.
Winter Soldier, Deathstroke, Mandarin, Ares, Grave Demon, Zola...
Too many individuals had been recruited by Red Skull for various reasons, or at least maintained a cooperative relationship, truly giving the Justice League and the Avengers a tough time.
Now, mutants on Earth were almost extinct, with no new mutants being born. Only tech-based heroes and genetic mutation heroes could grit their teeth and push forward.
Under this dire and rapidly escalating situation, battlefields spread across the globe.
But in a dark corner, a magic array slowly formed from nothing. As the spell was chanted and magic power was infused, this powerful magic array slowly glowed with a heart-pounding luminescence, and a summoning power that pierced through space-time was transmitted outwards.
Soon, an unknown being responded to the summons.
The entire magic array trembled faintly, seemingly unable to bear the immense pressure, emitting painful wails under the terrifying force of the unknown being.
The caster was already drenched in sweat, the magic power within their body surging out uncontrollably and pouring into the magic array.
An intensely concentrated aura of hell, emitting a foul sulfurous stench, and a terrifying wave of heat instantly melted the surrounding ground.
A massive figure gradually revealed itself, devouring the sunlight. As far as the eye could see, there was only darkness.
Only its slowly opening eyes revealed a light that made one's scalp tingle.
Six blood-red eyes, as if weeping blood, radiated the screams of countless souls and an ultimate sin that could never be cleansed.
"I have heard of you."
Trigon bared his terrifying fangs, "Your name is... Constantine!"
