**Chapter 609: Turns Out He's a Wild One**
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit
Bang! A giant axe struck down, instantly slamming Wonder Woman into the ground.
As the last remaining God of Olympus, Ares attacked his nominal sister.
"Father is dead, but he left behind a bastard like you. Your mother shamelessly seduced Zeus to get his bloodline, and that's how she gave birth to you."
"Diana, you have base blood flowing through your veins."
"The Gods created the Amazons, but your Queen seduced the God-King into making a mistake!"
Ares smirked, then swung his axe again, slamming it onto Diana's head. A surge of powerful divine power erupted, completely suppressing Diana.
"You're lying! The Father of Gods was naturally promiscuous; it had nothing to do with my mother!"
Diana roared, raising her Godkiller Sword and slashing at Ares. A God and a Demigod engaged in a fierce battle.
They were the only remaining bloodline holders of the Olympus Pantheon. The other Gods had all been eliminated by Amatsu-Mikaboshi.
Ares gave a cold smile, his eyes filled with madness, killing intent, and a zealous passion for venting his suppressed urge to fight.
Ares, the God of War, was belligerent and irritable, and also the weakest and most shameless among Zeus's many children.
He had been Amatsu-Mikaboshi's lackey for so long, and only managed to slip away during the brief interval when Thor held Amatsu-Mikaboshi back. After wandering the universe for a long time, he eventually came to Earth.
"I will never hand Earth over to you! You are not worthy of Earth!" Diana cried hoarsely.
"Is that so? But you're no match for me..." Ares sneered, leaping dozens of meters high. He swung his axe down from above, and the aftershocks collapsed several surrounding buildings. The relatively petite Diana was sent flying.
That's right, Ares originally wanted to re-establish the Olympus Pantheon on Earth. This time, he wouldn't be a subordinate; he wanted to be the God-King!
Having followed Amatsu-Mikaboshi for so long, he knew that most of the major pantheons had been wiped out. Thor might not be Amatsu-Mikaboshi's opponent, but it was a dog-eat-dog world; whoever won, it was all the same. If Amatsu-Mikaboshi won again, the Heavenly Court's demise would only be a matter of time.
And Amatsu-Mikaboshi himself was considered a powerhouse among the various pantheons!
Ares' heart burned with desire at the thought of the many women on Paradise Island.
Olympus was gone, so of course it had to be rebuilt! But a new god pantheon needed a population, didn't it? Paradise Island on Earth would be his best divine race stronghold!
By killing the uncooperative Diana, he would gain everything!
Sometimes, Ares thought that God-King Zeus's creation of Paradise Island might have been a preparation for a situation like today...
"I didn't come here for Earth, and not just for Paradise Island! I've changed my mind!"
"My dear sister, did you see the Unique Light not long ago? That was a New God! The New God Tony originated from Earth! The New God must have left something on Earth, or something on Earth propelled the New God's birth!"
"And I shall obtain this secret! Many individuals who secretly came to Earth want to know the special nature of this planet! If not for concerns about the New God's attitude, countless individuals would have long since scoured Earth, why would they need to be so discreet!"
Ares' face was filled with fervor, his eyes blood red. He panted heavily, letting out a roar, and relentlessly slashed at Diana.
Diana gritted her teeth, swallowing the blood that had seeped out at some point. She hoarsely stood her ground, desperately blocking Ares.
Another blue and red figure, no smaller than Ares, pounced, moving at over a thousand times the speed of sound, instantly knocking Ares flying.
Superman had finally dealt with his enemies and arrived to provide support.
Ares was sent flying hundreds of meters away. Superman Clark floated in the air, his expression a bit grim.
"How are things on your end?" Diana asked wearily.
"The Grave Demon who controls undead souls has been defeated by me. The Flash is using his speed to contend with hundreds of Sentinel robots. Tony is battling Mandarin, and the situation isn't looking good. Captain America and the others are also tied up, and Red Skull possesses a large number of high-tech weapons, which are the accumulated results of Hydra's efforts over the past eighty years."
Superman let out a deep sigh.
The act of capturing the Grave Demon also profoundly affected Superman. The Grave Demon was originally a writer. Starting with his first book, "Gods Descend to the Mortal World: The Mechanist," he had written a very popular "Gods Descend to the Mortal World" series, with superpowered individuals like them as protagonists.
Logically, the Grave Demon was a loyal fan of the superheroes. The entire change happened during Steppenwolf's invasion of Earth, when the Grave Demon's family tragically died, and the Grave Demon himself underwent corruption, gaining the ability to control undead souls. Extreme admiration ultimately evolved into extreme disappointment, and he sought revenge against them, the superheroes.
It was another classic case of a fan turning against them. Superman had encountered many such individuals, but each time, he felt helpless.
"First, defeat your nominal brother, then I'll immediately go help Tony. Mandarin is a very powerful individual; Red Skull reportedly recruited him from China. He possesses peak demigod combat power," Clark said in a low voice, staring intently at Ares, who was getting up as if nothing had happened.
The most troubling thing was that Mandarin subtly restrained Clark. Each of the Ten Rings on his hand contained immense power, causing great trouble for Clark. If Clark hadn't been injected with Doomsday cells, he would have been even worse off.
"You are... a Kryptonian? I heard that the New God's subordinates include an entire planet of Kryptonians. Are you Tony's subordinate?" Ares asked warily, his heart pounding, considering retreat.
He came to Earth to become the God-King and search for secrets, not to die.
He didn't understand the New God's personality, but a little inquiry would reveal the unprecedented Multiverse New God's short temper. The number of individuals he had eliminated was countless.
Ares didn't believe his neck was any harder than Thanos, Mongul, Dormammu, Steppenwolf, and the others.
"I am a subordinate of Earth," Clark said coldly, straightening his chest.
"Good then, turns out he's a wild one..." Ares exhaled deeply, licking his lips.
Clark took a step forward. His powerful body, transformed by Doomsday cells, contained power even more dazzling than the sun. The Doomsday cells granted him all-around enhanced abilities.
As time passed, he gradually adapted to the new gene, and his appearance transformed from its initial terrible form back to his original look.
With a height of over two meters and a slightly darker skin tone, he was now indistinguishable from an ordinary person.
"What awaits you is endless prison life. You will spend the rest of your days in Earth's prison," Clark stated gravely.
"What did you say? You don't plan to kill me, but imprison me?" Ares picked at his ear. "Right, how could a lowly mortal like you dare to kill a god..."
Clark snorted coldly, exchanged a serious glance with Diana, then both transformed into two black blurs and pounced on Ares together.
