Chapter 642: Rao
Mr. Mxyzptlk lost.
He was tricked by Clark, writing his name backward. According to the Game Rules, Mr. Mxyzptlk had to leave Earth—these Game Rules were established by him when he fought Golden Superman in the Fifth Dimension, and he had to abide by them even on Earth in the Prime Universe.
Otherwise, not only would Golden Superman come for him, but the busybodies of the Fifth-Dimensional Court would also intervene and drag him back.
"Don't you get cocky, I'll be back!!" Mr. Mxyzptlk roared furiously, glaring at the exhausted superheroes opposite him, his vicious gaze fixed solely on Clark.
"According to our agreement, you have to restore everything to normal," Superman said, pointing at the women's clothing, and sighing deeply.
Mr. Mxyzptlk had made a mess of Earth's existing rules. Gender-swapping clothing was a minor, harmless prank, but he had also declared toilet paper equivalent to gold, leading to chaos in the Mortal Realm. Everyone was frantically producing toilet paper, and the government even legislated, strictly prohibiting private manufacturing of toilet paper... Earth was truly about to be ruined by Mr. Mxyzptlk. The worst part was that, aside from the superheroes who opposed him, all Earthlings believed these sudden changes were natural, the very truth of the world...
Mr. Mxyzptlk's terrifying power, with just the tip of the iceberg revealed, had filled the superheroes with immense fear.
Fortunately, this menace was finally leaving. Honestly, fighting Mr. Mxyzptlk these past few days felt more exhausting than a Great War. The heroes just wanted to get rid of this guy quickly and then go back to sleep.
"I lost this time, but when I return next time, don't expect to defeat me so easily!" Mr. Mxyzptlk said, full of resentment.
The last time he came to Earth, he was tricked by Tony and had to leave in a sorry state. This time, Tony finally relented, allowing him to return and wreak havoc on Earth, but he was tricked by Clark...
Mr. Mxyzptlk's pitiful intelligence had become Superman's most potent weapon against him.
Mr. Mxyzptlk left Earth with deep dissatisfaction.
Superman tore off the wretched attire, his expression utterly exhausted.
Martian Manhunter called out to him: "I sense a group of mutants has returned to Earth."
"Who?"
"Bobby, John, and a Kryptonian, plus a duck."
"If they're from Cybertron, we only need to observe them; there's no need for full-scale surveillance," Batman rasped.
Superman waved his hand and soared into the sky, beginning to fly frantically in one direction. He circled Earth ten times before carefully returning to the suburbs of Metropolis, doing so to prevent any satellites from observing him.
"Kal-El, I've finally found you." A person dressed in the black uniform of the House of El stood in a cornfield, smiling as he looked at Clark.
Clark was extremely vigilant, and at the same time, glanced at Martha, who was watching TV in the house, asking uneasily: "Who are you? How do you know that name?"
"I am H'el, a friend and disciple of your father, Jor-El," H'el smiled.
"I don't know you," Clark said cautiously, looking at the stranger.
H'el replied: "But I know you. Before Krypton's demise, Jor-El entrusted me, who was researching on an alien planet, to look after you. There must be information about me on the spaceship you traveled in as a baby."
"What do you want?" Clark frowned. Because of Zod, he really didn't want to associate with anyone from Krypton; they all seemed to be a group of rigid-minded individuals.
"Kryptonian Survivors, following Jor-El's will, came to Earth to find you. Both your cousin and I are on Earth now. You might already know that a spaceship arrived on Earth; the Kryptonian inside isn't from some damned New Krypton, but your cousin by blood! She was sent out before Krypton exploded, also with the purpose of looking after you on Earth. But an accident occurred midway, and she drifted in the universe for twenty-four years."
Clark didn't want to get entangled with this guy anymore. He didn't trust H'el at all. "I'll investigate what you've said in my own way. Krypton is destroyed, everything is over, and you are free. Leave Earth, go wherever you want."
H'el clasped his hands in front of him, and with that black uniform, he bore a striking resemblance to Jor-El. He walked slowly, stopping a dozen meters in front of Clark.
"I haven't come for myself, Kal. You have a more glorious future than rotting away on Earth. You are the sole heir of the noble House of El, and a favored child of the gods."
A flicker of fanaticism suddenly erupted in H'el's steady eyes, a fervent and reverent devotion that offered everything.
"God?"
Clark's muscles tensed, his hair standing on end. He had a strange premonition that something unidentifiable was watching him.
"The God of Krypton, the God of Light, the God of the Sun, the great Main God—Rao! He watches his people with benevolent eyes!" The fervor and reverence that burst from H'el's eyes made him seem like a completely different person compared to his earlier calm and composed demeanor.
"Rao...? I grew up on Earth; I don't believe in Kryptonian gods."
"Then what do you believe in, god? Buddha?" H'el suddenly sneered.
"Gods are merely powerful life forms; Odin and Zeus are just like that."
"But Rao is different! Don't compare those laughable false gods to the great Rao!" H'el roared in a fit of rage, fueled by humiliation.
Clark's eyebrows drooped. He thought H'el had gone mad.
"Rao is watching you, he wants to speak with you, Kal. The great Main God wants to speak with you," H'el stated solemnly.
Clark's mouth twitched.
But what happened next stunned him. That mysterious gaze suddenly materialized. H'el's body trembled slightly, his head bowed then lifted, his black and white pupils becoming an immaculate white, as if containing the entire universe.
A noble aura swept over him, making every cell in Clark's body feel a desire for reverence, a truly awful feeling.
"My child." A strange voice emanated from H'el's mouth, permeating directly into Clark's mind. This unknown being radiated a powerful, pervasive influence, a deeply affecting power that influenced Clark.
"Rao?" Clark frowned.
"H'el" nodded and slowly walked up to Clark. Every subtle movement was exquisitely graceful, seemingly in harmony with the rules of the universe, leaving one unable to even conceive of resistance.
"I have always watched over you, my child. Every Kryptonian is my child, including you," Rao said, looking gently at Clark.
He extended his hand, and a pure white light emanated from his body. "I will grant you a future."
Just then, on distant Cybertron, Tony snapped his fishing rod in two and looked in an unknown direction.
