Clark has been at his wit's end recently. A self-proclaimed Mr. Mxyzptlk suddenly showed up, threatening to play a game with him, with the loser having to streak around Earth three times. To that end, Mr. Mxyzptlk even snapped his fingers and abducted his beloved Diana; the powerful War Goddess was utterly helpless before Mr. Mxyzptlk. The two then took Earth as their battlefield—or rather, their playground—and engaged in a battle of wits. Clark could only use his brains, because when it came to brawn, he absolutely couldn't outmatch Mr. Mxyzptlk, who could make anything he wished come true. He still didn't even know why Mr. Mxyzptlk disliked him, and was facing the challenge in a sorry state.
The terrifying intelligent lifeform, Brainiac, silently observed the boring game between Superman and Mr. Mxyzptlk, watching with cold eyes.
"Clark Kent, whose genes mutated due to the Doomsday Virus developed by the One-Above-All. This brand new mutated gene chain bears the mark of the new One-Above-All and is highly valuable for research."
All electronic devices on Earth were within Brainiac's control; even though Brainiac's main body was far away on the other side of the Milky Way Galaxy, he could easily monitor everything on Earth. The internet developed by Earthlings was originally just a sub-program that Brainiac had seeded. Brainiac indifferently watched Mr. Mxyzptlk entangled with Superman, quickly averting his gaze. His thirst for knowledge and the unknown surpassed hatred that had lingered for countless years. Moreover, he was not Mr. Mxyzptlk's opponent.
Instead, Clark's altered appearance successfully drew Brainiac's attention.
"Two meters five centimeters tall, a carbon-based life form, still maintaining the life essence of a Kryptonian, plus the One-Above-All's tampering... No wonder Rao couldn't help but jump out." Brainiac dispassionately observed Clark.
Anyone with a slight understanding of Rao, the God of Krypton, knew he was an utterly cold-blooded individual. The only one capable of attracting such a God's attention was the current Clark, making him highly valuable for research.
"Rao is afraid..." After pondering for a moment, Brainiac sneered.
The Superman Doppelgangers, such as Golden Superman and Silver Superman, had been tracking the whereabouts of Rao, the God of Krypton. These Doppelgangers would absolutely not stop until Rao was killed or imprisoned. Rao was afraid; if another powerful Superman were to rise, his already precarious situation would worsen.
Brainiac's skull-shaped spaceship drifted silently through the Milky Way Galaxy, quietly observing the developing situation. He wanted to see how long Rao could endure.
H'el was also looking for an opportunity to contact Superman, but was intimidated by Mr. Mxyzptlk's intimidating presence and was currently waiting for a chance.
A small spaceship flew towards Earth. Brainiac merely glanced, subconsciously wanting to access the electronic devices inside. It was his professional habit; he might find a use for them someday. But the consciousness stream he extended was violently destroyed, and a warning voice rang out: "Brainiac, next time, I'll kill you!" The spaceship flew off unimpeded, and the few small crew members inside were completely unaware. Brainiac did not respond, coldly watching the disappearing spaceship, as vast data calculations occurred in his eyes.
"The New Gods' people have also gone to Earth. Rao is certainly doomed. The New Gods' research into Doomsday is very deep, lacking only the most crucial step." Brainiac recalled the scene when Tony underwent the Ascension to Singularity. He had secretly implanted a sub-program to control Ultron robots, boldly launching an attack on Tony, and many things were revealed to him. After silently watching for a while, Brainiac slowly piloted his spaceship, also flying towards Earth. Precise logical calculations told him that as long as Rao dared to show himself, he would be hunted by the New Gods. At least, until Rao revealed deeper secrets, the New Gods would absolutely not let him go.
"Doomsday..." Brainiac thought, his gaze fixed straight ahead.
...
Tony was fishing. He skillfully cast his fishing hook into a turbulent river, then settled into a meditative silence like an old monk.
"Those little ones have gone to Earth. Aren't you going to do anything?" Professor X, sitting in his wheelchair, came to Tony's side.
"It doesn't matter. Young people should go wild. If they don't go wild now, should they wait until they're seventy or eighty? That would be truly insane." Tony's tone was somewhat teasing.
Professor X gave a wry smile.
"Don't worry, Kara's spaceship has long been controlled by Ultron. There won't be any problems." Tony stared at the great river before him.
Professor X said, "I heard a resident of the Fifth Dimension is close to ruining Earth with all the messed-up rules he's changed..."
"Mr. Mxyzptlk is a scoundrel by nature; it wouldn't be him if he didn't stir up some trouble... It's a good thing it's just him. If Batman were added to the mix, those two Fifth-dimensional beings could wreck the Multiverse."
"I recall the Fifth Dimension has a Fifth-Dimensional Court..."
Tony cast a surprised glance at the old man: "Do you really think the Fifth-Dimensional Court is so just? Those Judges aren't reliable either. If they truly cared about maintaining the Multiverse's stability, they shouldn't let someone like Mr. Mxyzptlk out. Every time Mr. Mxyzptlk appears, countless people suffer misfortune."
Professor X sighed, "What are the residents of the Fifth Dimension thinking?"
"No matter what they're thinking, they're just a bunch of pitiable beings." Tony's expression remained unchanged. Seeing that no fish had bitten for a long time, he frowned, reeled in his hook, and cast it again.
This time, just a second after landing, a clever fish bit.
*Splash!*
Tony raised his hook; a mechanical piranha was gripping it tightly, its mouthful of ferocious teeth glinting coldly, and its two eyes were exceptionally lively, showing a hint of grievance.
Damn it, when a god is fishing, who dares not to bite the hook?
Tony smiled, pried open the piranha's mouth to remove the hook, and then tossed it back into the river with a flick of his hand.
The piranha quickly swam away.
Even more fish watched the newly cast hook with annoyed eyes, debating whether or not to bite...
Professor X's expression was strange: "You seem to be waiting for something."
"I'm fishing, waiting for some fool to jump out on their own." Tony said indifferently, staring at the surging river.
Professor X turned and looked at him for a moment, then suddenly said, "The current you is a divine power clone, isn't it?"
Tony looked at Professor X in surprise: "You can tell?"
"A guess. Seeing how cautious you are, this matter must be important. But... if you can avoid using your main body, don't send it," Professor X sighed.
Tony said indifferently, "There's no other way. A clone's strength is a step below the main body. I'm currently only a peak demigod, so I can only send my main body. Moreover, this opponent isn't strong, but they are very cunning. If I don't catch them this time, it will be difficult to catch them later."
