Chapter 647: They're All a Bunch of Hysterical Madmen
In the vast universe, there are too many strange and peculiar species. Most of these species are born naturally, while a small fraction are extremely special, directly created by powerful life forms.
Rarely does a creator create life for the purpose of destruction. It seems like a thankless and foolish act to painstakingly create a species, only to tirelessly destroy it.
But Rao did exactly that.
Countless Kryptons across the multiverse were destroyed, countless Supermen survived, and numerous Superman doppelgängers followed their respective paths according to Rao's schemes, giving birth to exceptionally powerful individuals like Golden Superman and Silver Superman.
Only Rao, however, always remained hidden behind the scenes, coldly observing the changes in Krypton throughout the multiverse, and coldly watching the countless supermen who harbored deep hatred for him.
"Are you a Superman from the Ancient Kryptonian Era?" Tony looked at Rao's bloody and disfigured face, speaking indifferently.
Rao snorted coldly: "I am Rao, the Revered Sage from the Ancient Kryptonian Era, not some superman."
"Doesn't matter, it's just a title anyway."
Tony surveyed Rao after his veil was lifted, stroking his chin, with a hint of surprise.
"Do you have a grudge against Krypton and your doppelgängers? To harm them so much?" Tony asked.
The God of Wisdom spoke: "You don't understand... You are a native of the multiverse, unlike us early multiversal beings who witnessed the multiverse expand from a singularity into a multiverse."
Tony merely curled his lips, saying nothing more. That era was too, too distant. For Tony, it was an age difficult to imagine. Many hidden major events erupted then, or their seeds were sown at that time, only now sprouting.
The Moon God hastily interjected: "At that time, the multiverse was merely a small part of the Sphere of the Gods. No one could have imagined that the multiverse would expand endlessly, and it was from that point onwards that an insurmountable barrier was born."
"Any life form born within the multiverse is inherently inferior to life forms from the Sphere of the Gods. Whether in potential, upper limits, natural talent, or innate quality, they are all far behind those from the Sphere of the Gods."
Tony remained noncommittal: "That's normal. The multiverse is too tiny; it's not worth mentioning compared to the Sphere of the Gods."
Rao smiled, shaking his head, and calmly said: "But the value of the multiverse sealed the tragic fate of its natives. The endlessly replicated multiverse became a vast experimental ground for countless deities. Many ancient existences secretly manipulated the multiverse of that era, planting operatives and awaiting the day of harvest."
"Such as?"
"Hallenmeier, the God of Mars, and the Five Creator Deities," Rao answered. "Hallenmeier is doing the same thing as me, destroying the planets he created, then collecting what he needs from the endless corpses. The Five Creator Deities are similar, just with gentler methods."
"What are they collecting?" Tony pressed.
The three Main Gods nailed to the wall stared at him in surprise, and even the Beauty God, whose head had been severed, rolled her eyes to look at Tony, her face filled with astonishment.
Tony's heart sank, and a chill rose within him.
This was definitely not about collecting something trivial like a 'gene template', but rather...
"How did you become the One-Above-All?" Rao suddenly asked him.
"Ask one more question, and I'll kill you."
"Then I won't ask."
Rao decisively shut his mouth, gave Tony a strange look, before slowly saying, "They are collecting themselves..."
Tony remained silent for a long time, then turned and asked Rao a question: "Besides your current self, are there other versions of you?"
"If you mean me, then no, but if you mean doppelgängers, then there are countless versions of me," Rao replied.
Tony silently left the area, not bothering to deal with these Four Great Main Gods. Amidst a thunderous roar, the Mother Box slowly closed, sealing off all possible escape routes, and imprisoning the four Kryptonian Main Gods within.
Leaping, he landed on the peak of a snowy mountain. Tony sat down with a thud, squinting as he watched the howling snow fill the sky.
On the Earth of the Nirvana Universe, signs of life were almost extinct. The power of nature had regained supremacy, gradually erasing the traces of humans and starting anew.
Huge, frightening snowflakes drifted down onto Tony, who appeared like a mortal. Piling up more and more, they soon completely submerged Tony's form, making him one with this world of ice and snow.
Tony sat quietly, pondering some cryptic information he had received from Rao.
This information was hidden behind a reality that seemed self-evident; without someone pointing it out, it would be difficult to guess.
"Uniqueness and multiplicity..."
After a long while, Tony sighed deeply.
What is the difference between uniqueness and multiplicity? At first thought, it seemed they could be simply distinguished by 'unreplicable' and 'replicable'.
The unique entity is always singular, never existing before, and never to exist again in the future.
The multiverse, however, could theoretically proliferate into countless versions of itself.
There are countless supermen. Even with the existence of a Quasi-Unique God like Golden Superman, it still hasn't stopped countless versions of himself from continuously being born in other universes.
Rao, as the first Kal-El of Ancient Krypton, just as Ancient Doomsday is the origin of all Doomsdays, Rao is the origin of all supermen.
Yet in this world, there is only one Rao, while Rao's doppelgängers are countless.
Rao, the God of Krypton, madly destroys Kryptons across the multiverse. Hallenmeier, the God of Mars, madly destroys Mars across the multiverse... Yet neither of them is the One-Above-All.
This conveys a vast amount of information.
"The multiverse being a grand experimental ground for the Old Gods is quite fitting... No, it should be said that this is the most realistic reason for the multiverse's existence. Deities need the multiverse, which is why the multiverse exists."
"I think I understand why some always say that the multiverse lacks the foundation for giving birth to the One-Above-All..."
Tony's stiff body moved slightly, and the snowflakes covering him instantly evaporated. He opened his eyes, looking at the boundless landscape.
Life forms born in the Sphere of the Gods are born as singular individuals, unlike the natives of the multiverse, who are born with countless versions of themselves. No matter how they develop in the future, countless versions of themselves are constantly being born, perfectly replicating everything about them.
"This is a struggle for The Source! They're all a bunch of hysterical madmen for The Source."
Tony quietly observed his godhead. At the same time, on the distant Cybertron in the Prime Universe, Divine Power Avatar Donny was also observing his small godhead.
A godhead is a highly condensed manifestation of The Source. From its very inception, a godhead represents the One-Above-All. Everything about it is unreplicable, without a single excess part.
Yet, it is eternally scarce.
