Chapter 660: The Machine Connecting Characters and Authors (2)
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit
Originally, Tony directly killed the restless and unruly Lex Luthor to eliminate future problems, but he didn't harm Richard.
However strong Richard's intellect was, he was still just a mortal. If Tony truly wanted to launch a surprise attack and kill him, it would be as easy as breathing.
However, Richard wasn't like Luthor, so Tony had never paid him any mind.
"Tony, karma will get you! You won't come to a good end!" Rao's venomous voice rang out.
"Worry about yourself first. No matter what my outcome is, you certainly won't live to see it." Tony sneered, looking at the disfigured Rao.
At this moment, Rao's body was swollen and blackened. Large amounts of disgusting, thick keratin layers were constantly proliferating, and dense bone spurs grew out only to atrophy and fall off. His turbid eyes had long since blurred into a mess, his facial features twisted into a lump, and his recognizable form had vanished.
"Let me guess, back when you created Ancient Doomsday, what you did was even crazier. Over all these years, how many Krypton worlds have you destroyed? Ten thousand trillion? A million trillion? Even you've lost count."
"Do you want to avenge those Kryptonians?" Rao uttered a muddled mockery.
At this point, even his consciousness had become blurry and chaotic, nearly reaching the point of complete annihilation.
"No, it's just because I lack a powerful bodyguard, that's why I targeted you. Do you really think you underworld rats are truly that appealing yourselves? It's all because of Ancient Doomsday. With one of these things, I gain another trump card."
Tony paused, then glanced contemptuously at the Four Great Gods.
These underworld rats had long since degenerated. If it weren't for the real miracle of Ancient Doomsday, no one would pay these guys any mind.
Tony continued his work, urging the four Kryptonian Gods to transform in the direction he envisioned.
…
When Richard walked out of the machine, his mind was a bit muddled.
He stared blankly at a group of identical individuals walking around in the huge, empty world, loudly discussing, arguing, some even fighting each other.
Richard composed himself, walked forward, with a harmless smile, he extended his hand: "Hello..."
"What 'hello'? Get lost! Can't you see I'm busy!"
A short-tempered fellow immediately started cursing.
Richard wasn't angry, looking in surprise at these largely similar individuals.
"Guys, I have a plan!" A fellow stood on a table, waving the manuscript in his hand and yelling hoarsely, "The Editor-in-Chief is gone for good, I think it's time to initiate Plan B!"
"No, it's too early!"
"Our nurturing of the Larval Entity isn't complete yet; going out now is seeking death!"
"The Prime Monitor will kill us!"
"The Editor-in-Chief is still enduring, I believe this. He's always been this kind of person, we must have faith in the Editor-in-Chief."
"The Editor-in-Chief will beat you to death..."
The entire Editorial Department was always so lively, with the short-tempered, the gentle, the timid... When a group of people like that mixed together, something was bound to happen.
After the group of editors dispersed, Richard was greatly surprised.
"Richard! You shouldn't be here!"
An editor suddenly pulled him aside, with a serious expression.
"Who are you?"
"You can call me No. 126."
This editor was very impatient, glaring at Richard with undisguised malice. He wasn't at all surprised by Richard's sudden visit; instead, he was filled with dislike.
"You should honestly stay in your world, fighting supercriminals today and fixing some god tomorrow, instead of coming here to stir up trouble." No. 126 had a fierce expression.
Richard was stunned for a moment and said, "Actually, I came for help..."
"Help? Let me guess, which universe's Richard are you? Have you become Mister Fantastic yet? I get it, you're Ultimate Richard, aren't you? This ridiculous trick won't fool me."
No. 126 seemed somewhat exasperated.
His overflowing malice was completely undisguised.
"I'm from the main universe... that's what they call my world. I want you to do me a favor and draw Galactus, who is about to attack Earth, to death." Richard explained.
No. 126 was startled for a moment, then angrily said, "The main universe? The universe where the New God resides? Shouldn't that damned place be the New God's territory? Why come to the Editorial Department? Troubles in the main universe should be left for him to resolve!"
"But I can't find him, and he doesn't want to deal with the major event on Earth." Richard said in a deep voice.
"It's right that you can't find him, because even the Editorial Department can't find him. But he's definitely not in the main universe. The New God has even more mysterious strongholds in the Multiverse! I suspect he has an even more secret main base! Most likely it's the universe where he achieved Ascension to Singularity, but that universe has disappeared, and we can't find a single trace!"
No. 126 irritably took out a cigarette and took a puff.
"Solving the Galactus problem should be simple for you authors. You just need to casually draw a stroke, and Galactus will die..." Richard made a greater effort.
"What about the cause of death? 'Galactus was traveling the Cosmos, unexpectedly fell gravely ill and died suddenly in the Solar System...' Would you seriously believe that reason?" No. 126 took a deep breath.
Richard frowned, pulled over a chair and sat down, not treating himself as an outsider at all. Given his intelligence, he had long understood that the entire Editorial Department surely had many frequent visitors, and he was just one of them, nothing out of the ordinary.
"Killing off a character, is it difficult for you?"
"You can't say that; it depends on who you're killing off and where they die... The situation in the main universe is very sensitive, countless people are watching intently. If we suddenly kill Galactus, it would expose the entire Editorial Department, understand? Haven't you noticed that even the New God himself doesn't want to cause trouble in the main universe? He specifically found a mysterious stronghold outside, and who knows what schemes he's secretly brewing."
Richard was deep in thought, his supremely intelligent mind instantly analyzed many things.
How to put it, reality was somewhat different from the scene he expected... but the general direction hadn't changed.
Richard asked some more questions, but No. 126 only answered a portion, and then impatiently sent him away.
These unanswered questions also included strange terms such as Editor-in-Chief and Larval Entity. No. 126 naturally didn't answer, not only due to confidentiality, but also because even No. 126 himself didn't fully understand the inside story of some plans...
"The Galactus problem must be solved by yourselves, whether you do it yourselves or find powerful teammates. If you can't even get past the challenge of Galactus, it would be better to return to the embrace of Death or the Netherworld sooner. That would be the greatest happiness for you, because future enemies will be even more terrifying."
"Death? Netherworld?" Richard asked persistently.
No. 126 was utterly annoyed: "Go, go! Don't get in the way here, this isn't your world!"
