Chapter 661: The Death of Galactus
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit
Richard returned empty-handed, looking innocently at Tony who was quietly waiting for him.
"I thought you'd died in some dimension," Tony quipped.
"How long was I gone?" Richard asked.
"An hour. I've been keeping track of the time; I rarely spend it waiting for a man. So, did Primus agree?"
"No... I met many authors, but none of them were willing to deal with me," Richard sighed.
Tony raised an eyebrow, staring at Richard in surprise, then gradually fell silent.
"After a while, I'll go to that place you mentioned myself. I want to see it with my own eyes," Tony said.
...
Galactus finally arrived at Earth. His loyal herald, the Silver Surfer, was already waiting for him.
"A perfect planet. Stardust was right; Earth truly is the most suitable meal for you," the Silver Surfer said, pointing at the beautiful blue planet.
"Excellent. You haven't disappointed me."
Galactus' colossal body, like a terrifying monster, caused an immense shock to the Earthlings with its bewildering scale.
The Solar System's gravitational field underwent a sudden change. Scientists reported the results immediately: a giant had stormed into the Solar System, and the Superheroes' warnings were true!
Galactus wore a red horned helmet, like a mythical demon, symbolizing despair and death. The vast Earth, placed before Galactus, was not even as large as one of his palms.
Understandably, the terrifying arrival of Galactus, so colossal it was suffocating and severely shattered one's worldview, plunged the entire Earth and indeed the Solar System into immense chaos.
Black Bolt, just returned from the battlefield, silently blocked Galactus. His body, tiny as a bacterium, was shrouded in darkness, his indifferent eyes fixed directly on Galactus.
"Galactus, leave here. The Solar System is not within your hunting grounds!"
His wife and mouthpiece, Medusa, spoke coldly to Galactus.
"Move aside, insect. If you leave now, I won't hold your transgression against you."
Galactus swept his gaze over Black Bolt and Medusa, speaking in a divine tongue unlike any Earth language, yet its meaning was miraculously understood.
Black Bolt raised his head, a hint of coldness and rage appearing in his clear, indifferent eyes. He slowly opened his mouth: "Begone!"
A terrifying Sonic Scream wildly spread through the vacuum. Super-strong vibrational energy erupted the moment Black Bolt opened his mouth. The bacterium-sized Black Bolt, in the mere interval of a single word, generated enough energy to shake Galactus.
Black Bolt's ability was to absorb electrical energy from his surroundings and release it when needed. Because of its immense destructive power, Black Bolt usually never spoke, to avoid causing unnecessary damage.
Only in battle would he open his mouth; a single word could destroy a planet.
Galactus, comparable in size to Jupiter, swayed in the vacuum of space at that instant. His enormous body, containing terrifying energy and gravity, uncontrollably retreated tens of thousands of miles.
"You seek death!" Galactus roared back, opening his mouth. A powerful wave of annihilation power surged towards Black Bolt.
Honestly, Black Bolt was no match for Galactus. Although both belonged to the Level Seven tier, Black Bolt's combat power was, at best, equivalent to that of Odin, a Skyfather-level entity. Galactus, however, was a top-tier Single Universe-level being.
Black Bolt was instantly blasted away, sustaining varying degrees of damage both internally and externally. He spat out mouthfuls of blood, and his armor, similar to Batman's, shattered into pieces, scattering into the vacuum of space.
The Silver Surfer, riding his surfboard, instantly crashed into Black Bolt, sending him flying. In less than a second, the Silver Surfer, still pushing Black Bolt, propelled him out of the Solar System's gravitational pull.
Medusa's face showed anxiety, and she hurriedly chased after the Silver Surfer's retreating form, but only fell further and further behind.
The Silver Surfer was actually saving Black Bolt and his wife. A rampaging, enraged Galactus would show no mercy; if Black Bolt didn't retreat, he would surely die.
Galactus didn't spare a glance for the vanishing speck in the distance. His massive head turned towards Earth, his eyes gleaming with desire. He smelled food.
"Starving..."
Galactus murmured, swayed his body, and rapidly approached Earth.
Shadow fell. The Sun itself was obscured by the demon god-like Galactus. The entire Earth plunged into immense darkness, and Galactus' faintly terrifying and dizzying aura caused the entire Solar System to tremble, with Earth gently swaying in its orbit.
Merely by drawing near, several active volcanoes on Earth erupted repeatedly.
"He's here..." The members of the Illuminati gathered, their expressions incredibly grim.
At this moment, Earth had already fallen into boundless darkness. Before Galactus, Earth was like a baseball in the hand of a mortal; the disparity was too great.
"Is that Richard truly reliable?" Stephen's gaze was gloomy, and wild mystic energy danced in his eyes.
"He's very reliable. When it comes to matters of knowledge, he never lies," Tony explained.
Batman said hoarsely, "If he fails, my plan must be activated immediately."
"Can that Cosmic Treadmill really deal with Galactus?" Clark frowned deeply.
"We don't need to deal with him directly. We just need to use the power of the Speed Force to throw him somewhere even more distant," Batman said.
The entire Illuminati discussed for a while longer, then immediately dispersed to organize their respective teams to prepare for the worst-case scenario.
Mister Fantastic, Richard, once again took out the shuttle he had slightly modified.
This time, he wasn't aiming for the Editorial Department, but rather an unknown direction within the Multiverse.
...
Nirvana Universe.
Tony slowly stepped out of the Mother Box, a look of weariness on his face. He glanced at the world still covered in ice and snow, mused for a moment, then called for the Red Lantern Hulk.
A red-glowing figure descended from the sky, fiercely crashing in front of Tony. The sea of snow exploded; who knew how many avalanches this single impact triggered.
"The Main Universe has a bit of a problem. There's a big guy invading Earth. Go kill him for me," Tony commanded. "There are many people I care about on Earth, and many of the contingencies I've set up are also there, crucial for our future development. They can't just be destroyed like this."
The Red Lantern Hulk nodded. "No problem. Are your matters resolved?"
Tony rubbed his forehead, his eyebrows lowered as he suppressed something dangerous. "That's why I said the Main Universe's issue is a small problem... because I have bigger troubles to deal with here, and I can't return to the Main Universe."
The Red Lantern Hulk didn't ask further. He extended a thick arm and gestured, "Then send me to the Main Universe."
"No, Hulk, I won't send you back to the Main Universe. Someone will actively pull you there," Tony said.
