Ultra Magnus was always an absolute warmonger. Good soldiers only appeared on the battlefield; those rookies trained in virtual reality would probably wet themselves – oh no, leak Lubricant in fright – the moment they stepped onto a real battlefield.
Such eccentric Transformers indeed existed. Transformers were also Life Forms, and as Life Forms, they possessed a myriad of personalities: courageous, timid, and everything in between.
Ultra Magnus held immense expectations for the tens of millions of soldiers gathering in the Cybertronian Galaxy.
And tens of millions was just the beginning…
The war on Planet SC74X-1 had continued for a month.
All kinds of brutal battles unfolded daily, and slaughter and death became the norm on this barren planet.
Space Bridges lit up frequently, transporting new batches of soldiers to the battlefield. Similarly, the Annihilation Insectoids truly feared no one in terms of numbers and scale, dispatching another hundred million members of the Bug Race directly to the planet.
Demigod-Level engagements were a common sight. They battled fiercely in Space, and the stray aftershocks from their clashes could cause terrifying destruction.
"That's enough. This planet can be abandoned."
Ultra Magnus watched the battle situation displayed on the screen. Most of the areas had been overrun by the Insect Swarm. Before the massive and ferocious Annihilation Insectoids, the "small force" dispatched by Cybertron was gradually losing its advantage.
"The Andromeda Galaxy is already in complete Chaos. The Skrulls have accepted aid from the Kree and the Shi'ar Empire, turning the entire Andromeda Galaxy into a war front."
"Oa has issued a war warning to the entire Universe, calling on all cosmic races to declare war on the Annihilation Insectoids. They even dispatched a contingent of the Green Lantern Corps to join the battle in the Andromeda Galaxy."
Ultra Magnus tapped on the screen, receiving a massive stream of information, which he analyzed and processed in an orderly fashion.
"But there's still no news of Annihilus…" Ultra Magnus mused.
Large swathes of the map on the screen had long since turned glaring red, but Ultra Magnus paid no mind.
He was more concerned about what Annihilus was planning. This formidable character was capable of capturing even Galactus, possessing exceptionally immense power.
"The mineral resources on Planet SC74X-1 have been completely depleted. It can be abandoned."
After a moment's thought, Ultra Magnus issued orders to the remaining few Bases.
The Transformers' speed in excavating, refining, and consuming resources and minerals was astonishing. Every Transformer possessed immense stamina, capable of working tirelessly for months given a sufficient supply of Energon Cubes. Coupled with their advanced technological capabilities, the mineral resources on this planet had long been exhausted.
All resources had been converted into weaponry and deployed against the Annihilation Insectoids.
In just one month, the ground was strewn with corpses, which at first glance seemed to cover the planet's surface – of course, this was an exaggeration, as a mere hundred million Corpses were nothing on a planetary scale. However, in several main combat zones, layers of intertwined Corpses genuinely blanketed the ground, their pungent stench mixing with the smell of rotting metal, adding to the horrific spectacle.
After a month of meat-grinder combat, the Iacon Hall of Records had amassed incredibly rich data on the Annihilation Insectoids, available for every Warrior to download and study. This directly led to a visible decrease in casualty rates – a drastic drop was impossible, as in battles involving tens of millions or even hundreds of millions, the enemy was everywhere. Although the Transformers' own Chassis were formidable, the Annihilation Insectoids were no pushovers; a single bite could often sever a Low-Tier Warrior's Chassis.
In the Marvel Universe, the terror of the Annihilation Insectoids made countless Powerhouses tremble.
Even later, the powerful Technological Civilization known as the "Builders" from the Outer Universe – a civilization capable of collapsing an entire Universe with a single main cannon blast – found themselves with a massive headache when facing the hysterical Annihilation Insectoids.
Ultra Magnus's orders spread across the entire planet. The one and a half million Warriors in the remaining twenty Bases received the command and began to unleash their stored artillery fire without restraint, venting it upon the enemy.
The Transformers had suffered over half a million casualties, in exchange for hundreds of millions of insect Corpses.
Every Warrior who had undergone the baptism of war had long completed their Transformation from timid to tough.
The Annihilation Insectoids seemed to detect the disturbance, stirred restlessly, and assembled a vast Legion that boldly lunged towards the Headquarters, an incredibly massive and sturdy War Fortress.
Fierce combat erupted once more. Countless Corpses fell, becoming insignificant piles of rotting flesh on the battlefield.
The entire War Fortress began to display its might. Dense Heavy Cannons extended from every building, unleashing a furious bombardment upon the buzzing insects.
The torrent of firepower and explosions shook the most stable continental shelf on this planet beneath them. This already scarred and battered planet finally showed ominous signs of buckling under the immense strain.
Ultra Magnus said coldly, "Activate. It's time."
The Commander's order was transmitted throughout the War Fortress. This super city, upon receiving the command, immediately began to move.
The Fortress Base, which was essentially a city, suddenly sprung to life.
Grinding and clanking…
Earthquakes erupted, volcanoes roared.
The War Fortress vibrated frequently. All its internal facilities – serving as Barriers, housing, and main cannons – began to move. In an instant, the War Fortress transformed into a precise work of art. An incalculable number of parts began to stack upon each other, breaking apart their original forms and combining into new shapes.
The entire War Fortress came alive. Twenty thousand meters long, it completely combined and transformed. Horrifying Cannons rose up, becoming part of its Transformation into a Humanoid Form.
The true Maximal stood up, distinct in black and white. Dozens of glowing energy ports dotted its surface, its chest resembling that of Iron Man, filled with energy blocks capable of planetary Destruction.
Before this behemoth, everything became an ant. Whether it was the fearlessly charging Insect Swarm or the arrogant Combiners, they were all mere specks like ants.
A Fortress Transformer, Fortress Maximus.
"Finally, I can move around a bit. I thought I'd be immobile my whole life."
Fortress Maximus uttered this in a synthesized electronic voice. The powerful Sound Wave sent both friend and foe sprawling, their minds reeling.
Even the Annihilation Insectoids were stunned by this suddenly appearing giant, momentarily lost and bewildered.
They looked up, and its form stretched endlessly out of sight.
This was a Fortress Transformer, Shapeshifted from a War Fortress comparable to a super city, a Monster even more terrifying than a Combiner.
Before the emergence of Planet Transformers like Primus and Unicron, no one could match a Fortress Transformer in sheer size and scale.
Similarly, Fortress Maximus, who had Shapeshifted from a War Fortress into a Humanoid Form, possessed explosive Combat Power. The larger the scale of the battlefield, the more suited it was for a Maximal of his kind to unleash his full potential.
"Kill them," Ultra Magnus said.
