Chapter 737

Chapter 721: The Green Lantern Corps is Finished

2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit

“It seems Steppenwolf didn't discover me...”

Mobius cautiously scanned his surroundings.

In the Multiverse, aside from the avatars of those One-Above-Alls and a few powerful Multiversal Gods, there was truly no one he feared. Wielding the Anti-Life Equation, he possessed the potential to rival or even surpass them.

But that was all predicated on him being able to destroy enough Positive Matter Universes.

If some ruthless character were to appear and eliminate him now, everything would be over.

Mobius was extremely careful. He strongly suspected that Apokolips had sensed something, which was why they were suddenly paying him so much attention at this critical juncture.

Mobius traversed the Blood Realm for a long time before suddenly stopping, quietly waiting for something.

A short while later, following a subtle tremor in the surrounding Blood Realm energy, a figure appeared silently before Mobius.

“What do you want from me?” Mobius looked coldly at the being before him.

Tall and slender, with no skin, his muscles twisted and entwined—Mandrakk's appearance was always highly distinct.

“Just curious. I'm very interested to know what could cause the great Anti-Monitor to suddenly... put on weight.”

Mandrakk's gaze was sharp and cold, the corners of his mouth turned up in what seemed to be a sneer of ridicule.

Since leaving the Editorial Department, Mandrakk had been operating in secret. He hadn't even truly revealed himself when Donny ascended to become a One-Above-All, always observing with cold detachment.

Mandrakk sized up Mobius, who had suddenly become a size larger and bloated. To be honest, he too was momentarily stumped—at their level, physical attributes like height or weight were trivial issues.

But for him to suddenly become so fat, something was definitely wrong.

Looking at Mobius's iconic tin-can armor, which had suddenly become round and chubby, filled with a comical air, Mandrakk abruptly fell silent.

Mobius's face was hidden by his helmet, his expression unreadable, but his voice remained frigid: “Get lost, or die!”

“I didn't come here looking for trouble. In any case, you are my ‘Doppelgänger,’ and I won't waste time on a fight with nothing to gain,” Mandrakk replied. “I came specifically to remind you of our agreement. Don't you forget it.”

Mobius snorted coldly. “Do you think I'm you?”

“One can never be too sure...”

A flash of sinister cunning flickered in Mandrakk's eyes.

The Prime Monitor, Mandrakk, and the Anti-Monitor, Mobius, were corresponding entities dispatched by the Monitor Race to the Multiverse, responsible for overseeing the Positive Matter Universe and the Anti-Matter Universe respectively.

As members of the same Monitor Race, Mandrakk and Mobius naturally had a connection.

Likewise, the two were very familiar with each other, and their wariness and scheming had never diminished.

“I will look after Duzun. As per our agreement, I won't let him die... You still haven't told me what you ultimately want me to protect Duzun for,” Mobius asked.

“When the time comes to tell you, I naturally will. Or perhaps you'd like to trade your new toy for it? The aura about you has changed; you can't fool me. Your power has undergone a transformation. Mobius, I would be delighted to exchange my secret for yours.”

Mandrakk and Mobius stared at each other, both seeing the coldness in the other's eyes, and the killing intent that each was striving to suppress.

The entire Monitor Race originated from the terrifying Prime Monitor. Mandrakk and Mobius, as exceptionally powerful individuals among the Monitor Race, were each a mere hair from the Prime Monitor's body before they came into being. They were born with revered status and formidable strength, granting them a significant natural advantage in the Multiverse.

And as the opposing Prime Monitor and Anti-Monitor, they naturally held intentions regarding one another.

This was especially true now that they knew the other harbored hidden secrets, and greed naturally surged in their hearts.

Mandrakk's eyes narrowed to a slit. He opened his mouth, revealing long, sharp teeth, as an energy cannon of positive matter suddenly blasted toward Mobius.

Boom!

The Prime Monitor and Anti-Monitor brazenly went to war. There was no warning, no meaningless conversation, and certainly no camaraderie as fellow kin. The killing intent between them erupted.

The two figures, one plump and one gaunt, brazenly engaged in battle within the vast Blood Realm.

Deafening roars echoed continuously. The energy of the nearby higher dimensional Blood Realm surged amidst the intense clash between the two Monitors, suddenly turning violent. Before the two Monitors, who were swifter than lightning, this energy was like ocean waves battered by a hurricane.

“Mandrakk!! Do you really want a fight to the death with me!!!”

Mobius roared, his thick arm encased in its armor as he threw a punch at the gaunt Mandrakk. The turbulent energy, saturated with chilling killing intent, was capable of easily destroying numerous galaxies, violently disrupting a universe's fundamental laws and subverting billions of life forms.

Mandrakk only continued his sinister laughter, relentlessly pursuing Mobius, forcing him into repeated confrontations.

Mobius found himself in a rather sorry state, taking a beating.

Mandrakk was a being second only to the Prime Monitor in the entire Monitor Race. Although his power had not yet reached its peak, it was constantly growing—or rather, reawakening—at an astonishing speed.

Mobius genuinely couldn't defeat Mandrakk. He desperately suppressed the fury in his heart and the instinct to invoke the Anti-Life Equation, his bloodshot eyes, peering through his battle helmet, fixed on Mandrakk.

Bang!

Mandrakk's fist smashed into Mobius, leaving a clear imprint on his armor's surface. He then suddenly retreated, a detached smile on his face.

Mobius, utterly disheveled, managed to halt his momentum. He clenched his fists tightly, his eyes burning with fury, yet he remained cautiously on guard.

The disparity was vast. He genuinely couldn't defeat Mandrakk, not without invoking the Anti-Life Equation. But that was impossible; as long as Mobius wasn't a fool, he wouldn't use it.

“Heh, interesting. You really did find something. Why don't you use it?” Mandrakk's mouth twisted into a sinister sneer, his maw of savage teeth bared towards Mobius.

Mobius stared at him with a frosty expression.

Suddenly, Mandrakk stepped back slightly. “Don't forget, ensure Duzun stays alive. He cannot die yet. In return, I'll help you guard your secret... I know all your secrets.”

Mandrakk's figure quietly vanished.

Mobius stared grimly ahead, a profound chill glinting in his eyes.
