Chapter 738

Chapter 722: The Green Lantern Corps is Finished (2)

October 19, 2022 Author: Great Demon Spirit

Oa still couldn't hold on.

The rampaging Superboy-Prime was simply unrivaled. A large number of Lanterns died by his hand, often suffering severe injuries or even death after a single encounter.

Superboy-Prime, wielding a Yellow Lantern Ring, had an overwhelmingly suppressive effect on ordinary Lanterns. He held an absolute advantage, both in terms of raw power and the Yellow Lantern's suppression over Green Lantern.

Superboy-Prime was like an Executioner in the Interstellar, continuously harvesting the lives of countless Lanterns.

The entirety of Oa trembled under Superboy-Prime's might.

In the past, Oa had already been destroyed once, back when Ancient Doomsday descended upon the Main Universe.

But now, Oa was about to face its second destruction.

Sinestro, filled with immense hatred, returned with his grand army from the Anti-Matter Universe, launching a surprise attack on Oa.

"You wretched things, do you truly think you're worthy of stopping my Lord Kal-El?!?"

Superboy-Prime sneered, ramming into and sending two Lanterns flying. He reached out and grabbed the neck of a Lantern in front of him. With a slight squeeze, there was a sickening crunch as he crushed it.

His gaze fixed directly on the dozen or so Supreme Lanterns ahead. The peculiar Green Lantern Rings they held were highly attractive to Superboy-Prime.

This was his first time wearing a Lantern Ring — though it was merely a Yellow Lantern Ring. Yet, having personally encountered the power of the Emotional Spectrum for the first time, Superboy-Prime naturally felt immense greed surge within him.

The sensation of having a certain emotion within him amplified without limit stimulated Superboy-Prime's nerves.

Worrix was expressionless, leading the dozen or so Supreme Lanterns behind him as they stormed across the battlefield.

"Each of you lead a squad of Green Lanterns to intercept the Sinestro Corps. I will hold back Superboy-Prime." Worrix said indifferently.

A dozen green blurs flashed past, swiftly flying in different directions, gathering Green Lanterns from various squads for coordinated combat.

As their captain, Worrix personally gathered several top Lanterns to confront Superboy-Prime, who had long since fixed his gaze on him.

"Kilowog, Tomar-Re, Laira, you will join me in holding back Superboy-Prime!"

Worrix commanded.

Tomar-Re and Kilowog exchanged a glance, their brows furrowed. Tomar-Re asked, "Worrix, where have you been all this time, and how did you end up like this?"

Worrix, a member of the Green Lantern Corps, along with over a dozen Green Lantern officers, had mysteriously disappeared years ago. No one knew their whereabouts.

Yet, just when Oa faced its gravest crisis, these vanished individuals suddenly reappeared, their appearances and physiques drastically altered. They emanated a green light from within, each of them cold, indifferent, and utterly bizarre.

"Follow orders. I have received the highest authorization from the Guardians and have the right to command you." Worrix said impassively.

Laira was about to say something, but Tomar-Re tugged at her. The three exchanged glances and fell silent.

The four figures converged and collided head-on with Superboy-Prime, who wore a look of immense greed.

Zzzzt!

Burning Heat Vision shot from Superboy-Prime's eyes, striking directly at Worrix. Two beams of Heat Vision, laden with the powerful energy of a Kryptonian, lunged straight for Worrix's face.

The four top Lanterns joined forces, collectively manifesting a powerful Shield that barely managed to withstand Superboy-Prime's Heat Vision.

"I like your Power Ring!" Superboy-Prime sneered, his handsome face already contorted into a sinister, horrifying mask. This face, which should have symbolized righteousness and grandeur, had instead veered to the opposite extreme.

The five erupted into fierce combat. It was four against one: four of the most elite Green Lantern officers simultaneously engaged, besieging Superboy-Prime, but they still found themselves in a bitter struggle.

Superboy-Prime was simply too powerful. Coupled with the power amplification from the Yellow Lantern Ring, a mere four Lanterns were no match for him.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Superboy-Prime raised his Power Ring, his body instantly clad in a Yellow Power Suit. He precisely manifested a series of yellow humanoid constructs that lunged at Tomar-Re and the other two, while he himself charged directly at Worrix.

He could sense that the Power Ring on Worrix's finger was extraordinary, possessing a power similar to other Lanterns' Rings, yet far more extreme.

Based on his intuition from conquering the Multiverse, this Power Ring definitely held even greater potential, at least far more powerful than the Yellow Lantern Ring on his hand.

Superboy-Prime's intuition was correct. While Supreme Lantern Rings had various drawbacks, they indeed offered a significant advantage in Combat Power amplification.

The Supreme Lantern Ring, Divine Power Ring, and The Dawnbreaker are known subcategories separated from the Green Lantern Ring, three branches under the main trunk of Green Willpower.

And the Supreme Green Lantern Ring was the weakest of them... The latter two types of Power Rings offered even more outrageous power amplification, astonishingly potent. Of course, they also inflicted more extreme effects on the user's Spirit, even diverging from the neutral and peaceful Green Willpower, directly distorting the user's Willpower and thoughts.

It's important to note that the Green Willpower Lantern Rings were favored by the psychologically darker Guardians not because the Guardians only mastered the secrets of Willpower, but because Green Willpower was the most neutral and peaceful. It wouldn't excessively weaken a user's beliefs nor overtly twist or stimulate their specific thoughts.

However, the emotionless Supreme Green Lantern Ring, the bloodthirsty Dawnbreaker, and the greedy, prejudiced Divine Power Ring had long since diverged from ordinary Green Lantern Rings. Their commonality was that they still used the Willpower of a Life Form as their drive.

After experiencing the marvels of the Yellow Lantern Ring, Superboy-Prime's heart stirred the moment he saw the Supreme Lantern Ring. This was a choice perfectly aligned with his personality and ambitions, as Superboy-Prime harbored a pathological craving for Power.

As for whether he would be controlled by the Supreme Green Lantern Ring or control it himself, that would depend on whether Superboy-Prime could withstand the Supreme Lantern Ring's distortion of his thoughts.

Boom!

Explosions frequently echoed as several green figures darted with insane speed, launching a fierce onslaught around Superboy-Prime. Four against one, they were pushing themselves to the absolute limit, each Lantern wringing every last drop of Power from their Green Lantern Ring.

But it was useless.

Superboy-Prime was too powerful. Even with all four Lanterns fighting with all their might, they still couldn't halt Superboy-Prime's advance.

Rip!

Superboy-Prime smashed Worrix's thigh, then his palm morphed into a claw, savagely grabbing at the back of Worrix's head.

"Let him go!!" Kilowog roared, his massive form slamming into Superboy-Prime, but Superboy-Prime didn't budge an inch.

The pincer-like hand gripped down hard. Worrix's back of the head was already held by Superboy-Prime, and the Green Light of Willpower, frantically gushing forth as support, shattered with a deafening crash amid Superboy-Prime's sneering laughter.

Splurt!

Like a watermelon, Worrix's head burst apart, but he was still not dead. He continued to resist desperately. With half his head gone, not a drop of blood flowed, and though his movements became sluggish, he was indeed still alive.

Watching this horrifying scene, Tomar-Re's expression flickered. Finally, gritting his teeth, he pulled a communication device from his waist and sent a pre-composed message.

"Optimus Prime, Oa is finished. The Green Lantern Corps is finished."
