Chapter 742

Chapter 726: Dual Lanterns

Two figures, one large and one small, a confrontation between green and yellow. In an instant, a vast area was covered in these two colors. Weaker Lanterns were sent flying by the powerful waves of energy, completely unable to intervene.

The trio of Tomar-Re, Kilowog, and Laira were joining forces against other Green Lanterns. The three of them, covered in wounds, couldn't guarantee their combat power and could only fight together.

"It's started. I hope Optimus Prime can defeat Sinestro quickly. We can't hold out for much longer," Kilowog said as he restrained a Yellow Lantern.

The Yellow Lantern opposite him was a creature resembling a Giant Worm. It opened its mouth full of sharp teeth and sneered, "Sinestro will never lose. He's a cunning one. If he loses, it must be because of some conspiracy."

"I don't know if Sinestro will lose, but I know you're finished, Bedovian," Tomar-Re said, wiping the blood from his face.

"Optimus Prime will never lose!" Laira yelled angrily.

The three began to besiege Bedovian. All four were top-tier Lanterns in their respective corps. Three heavily injured against one at full strength managed to maintain a rough balance.

But it was clear this equilibrium wouldn't last long. Bedovian would gradually overpower the three injured Lanterns and... eat them, one by one.

This giant worm, Bedovian, truly ate people. It could go for hundreds of years without eating, drifting through the Universe disguised as a rock. The moment it arrived somewhere with life, it would begin to feast.

In Sinestro's Legion of countless Villains, he and the Tyrant Bug were among the most notorious. Other Yellow Lanterns were unwilling to deal with him.

The fierce battle between Optimus Prime and Sinestro officially began. A powerful emotional field violently repelled the other Lanterns. For them, this high-end combat zone was an area that was nearly impossible to approach.

Here, any random aftershock of energy, whether green or yellow, would exert immense pressure on the other Lanterns, forcing them to do their utmost just to avoid being destroyed or severely injured by the force.

Optimus Prime created a massive Mech, recklessly pouring firepower onto Sinestro. Every bullet and shell that bombarded Sinestro's Force Field dissipated at the moment of impact, slamming its full energy into the shield.

Sinestro gritted his teeth and let out a low roar. Veins bulged on his forehead as he forcefully pushed the Force Field forward.

"Optimus Prime, you are lucky. If you didn't have a god behind you, the Guardians would have dealt with you long ago! But you, you idiot, still revere their foolish orders. Corruption always begins to sprout at the moment of New Life, and you are the most dazzling green leaf on that decaying tree!"

Sinestro roared, gritting his teeth as he charged in front of Optimus Prime. A giant yellow fist appeared in an instant and viciously sent Optimus Prime flying.

In this vacuum, every single move consumed their own energy and that of their Lantern Ring.

"I've said it before. I have never served the Guardians. I serve my beliefs," Optimus Prime said in a deep voice.

"Is there a difference? What are you doing now, huh? That bunch of old fossils are already rotten. Worrix and a dozen others were subjected to Augmentation and turned into Robots by them. They even brought back the Manhunters that should have been completely destroyed! Oa is no longer worthy of maintaining stability in this Universe. Only I, only my Sinestro Legion can do it!"

"I, Sinestro, will give this Universe a better Order!"

"Fear is a more effective way to rule!"

Sinestro screamed himself hoarse, his voice echoing in the minds of all the Lanterns.

"Optimus Prime, even the god behind you relies heavily on the Power of Fear. Only Fear will make the disobedient shut their mouths!" Sinestro roared.

"But after they shut their mouths, what follows is even greater hatred." Optimus Prime drew the Greatsword from his back and charged to engage Sinestro in close combat. Sinestro also created a Greatsword and clashed with Optimus Prime, then used the force from the blow to retreat, once again creating distance.

"Then let them shut their mouths forever. Fear is always the most effective and direct method," Sinestro said with a sinister laugh.

Optimus Prime frowned and said nothing.

Back then, Sinestro wasn't like this. He was still a loyal Leader of the Green Lanterns, full of responsibility. But now... he had gone down a paranoid and irreversible path.

The fierce battle continued, with both sides locked in a massive war of attrition.

Suddenly, Sinestro asked out of the blue, "Is your mission to protect Oa?"

Optimus Prime's movements didn't hesitate in the slightest. He sent Sinestro flying with a slash of his sword, and the Hand Cannon on his arm lit up with a beam, followed by a long-range bombardment. Only then did he reply coolly, "No."

"Then it's to protect the Guardians. Let me guess, Ganthet? Among the seven Guardians, he's the only one with any semblance of humanity left. The rest are all Robots," Sinestro sneered. "Although I don't know why a god of Tony's level is so concerned with Oa's affairs, I generally understand. He's plotting to seize the Emotional Spectrum, and you are the most suitable candidate."

Optimus Prime remained silent. He opened his palm, and a yellow Power Ring silently slid from inside his forearm into the center of his hand.

The Yellow Lantern Ring flickered with a strange light.

Sinestro frowned. He tried to control the Power Ring in Optimus Prime's hand through his own, but there was no reaction at all.

In his senses, and in the databases of the Sinestro Legion, there was absolutely no information on this Yellow Lantern Ring.

"As I thought..." Sinestro frowned, his expression ugly.

That guy, Tony, had actually managed to secretly create a Yellow Lantern Ring. Then what about the other colored Lantern Rings...

"Just how far has your plan progressed?! How many of the Seven-Color Corps have you created?" Sinestro roared.

The Red Lanterns and the Yellow Lanterns. There were already two known to him. But Sinestro wouldn't believe for a second that Tony would be so "well-behaved" as to be satisfied with just two corps...

There were more, yet he, Sinestro, had not noticed a thing.

An intense sense of urgency welled up in his heart. Sinestro felt that his pace had fallen far behind... no, he was already obsolete.

He had been left so far in the dust by Tony that not even his shadow remained.

And... of all things, why a Yellow Lantern Ring?!

In front of the suddenly grim-faced Sinestro, Optimus Prime picked up the Yellow Lantern Ring and placed it on the index finger of his right hand.

The Green Lantern Ring and the Yellow Lantern Ring seemed to have been greatly stimulated, simultaneously emitting a blinding light. It lasted for only a second before being suppressed by Optimus Prime's powerful Willpower.

The interweaving of Fear and Willpower stimulated Optimus Prime's nerves. Wearing two diametrically opposed Power Rings, he was enduring immense mental pressure.
