Chapter 291: Extraterrestrial Visitor—A High-Level Being Full of Majesty and Grandeur
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit
Azazel’s eyes were red as he activated his Demigod-Level Spatial Ability.
The space around Tony was twisted, becoming extremely unstable. In an instant, an interval too brief to be measured in seconds, Azazel was already by Tony’s side, his giant red claws swiping down, aiming straight for Tony’s vulnerable neck.
This strike was incredibly powerful. Even Tony's skin would be torn open, ripping away large chunks of blood vessels and flesh, and his neck might even be snapped.
Azazel was already revealing a look of triumphant satisfaction, the corners of his mouth quietly curling up.
Tony and Dormammu hadn't attacked together. This was the best possible outcome.
So young, so foolishly idiotic.
Earth's new Sorcerer Supreme was a fool.
"What are you smiling about?"
A cold sneer interrupted Azazel’s glee. His every movement was frozen, the tips of his claws less than a centimeter from Tony’s neck.
But that single centimeter was as distant as a heavenly chasm.
Tony slowly turned around, a cold smile on his face. On his chest, the Eye of Agamotto emitted a dazzling green light, looking incomparably brilliant.
"The Time Stone is truly useful. I'm suddenly eager to get my hands on the other Infinity Stones."
Tony slowly reined in the power of the Time Stone, looking at the frozen Azazel and everything else around him that had been stopped in time with an expression of wonder.
But what followed was the backlash of the temporal power, inflicting immense damage upon his Soul and body, which was quickly repaired by Tony's own Healing Factor.
Tony casually snapped off Azazel’s arm and tore it away, watching as the blood remained suspended at the severed limb. Many of the blood droplets had already formed into tiny beads, just waiting for Tony to release the suspended time to gush out like a fountain.
At this moment, Tony was genuinely astonished.
Everything in this small Pocket Dimension had been artificially frozen, and only he himself was unaffected.
The Time Stone's power was truly terrifying. He had only stopped time, not reversed it; otherwise, the outcome would have been far more troublesome.
Of course, the price for using an Infinity Stone was also steep. Across the entire Universe, few dared to touch one with their bare flesh.
The Tesseract that housed the Space Stone, the Eye of Agamotto that held the Time Stone, and the scepter that contained the Mind Stone were all indirect ways of wielding the stones' power.
"What a pity. Even if I collect all six Infinity Stones and the Infinity Gauntlet, I can only use them in this Universe. In other universes, they're less useful than a rock. Not to mention, there are countless sets of Infinity Stones throughout the Multiverse."
"Perhaps, only by finding the seventh Infinity Stone—the Ego Stone—hidden in some secret universe could I glimpse a sliver of permanent power. But once all seven stones are assembled, that old hag Nemesis will appear, which would be very troublesome."
Nemesis had split a portion of her own power into seven Infinity Stones and scattered them across the Multiverse.
When the seventh Ego Stone appeared, the day of the terrifying, Omniverse-level entity, Nemesis's reawakening, would not be far off.
Tony slowly retracted the power of the Time Stone. The control over time gradually faded, and everything returned to normal, but the power of time had already etched the events into reality.
"Ahhhhh!!! My arm!!! What did you do!!!"
Azazel clutched his wound, screaming in disbelief as he stared at the severed arm on the ground.
Everything had happened so suddenly, yet it seemed perfectly normal.
It was as if Tony possessed Super Speed, severing his strong arm in an instant, before Azazel could even react.
"The Time Stone! You actually used the power of the Time Stone!" Azazel clutched his wound in terror, gritting his teeth while trembling slightly.
"You madman! You're the Guardian of the Time Stone, yet you use its power so recklessly!"
"It's enough if it kills you." Tony spread his arms, his face serene. "I don't care, so why should you?"
Azazel cursed, "You will pay the price! The power of the Infinity Stones is not something just anyone can control! To sever my arm, you must have lost a good deal of your lifespan, right? That's the price!"
"Lifespan? You think I care about something like that?" Tony sneered.
There was a reason the Ancient One secretly drew power from the Dark Dimension for life extension. The Dark Dimension’s power ignored the erosion of time, allowing the Ancient One to use the Time Stone multiple times.
But Tony couldn't care less. If not for the worry that reversing time would cause distortions in universal constants and parameters, he wouldn't have bothered to act personally after stopping time—he would have just turned Azazel into a baby.
The Eye of Agamotto bore the brunt of the Time Stone's terrifying backlash, and his Healing Factor could easily absorb the small remaining portion.
Besides… losing lifespan? Life force? With Tony's Allspark standing guard, all of that was meaningless.
Tony might gradually age with the passage of time, but when it came to the crude use of an external force like the Time Stone, the eternal and unique Allspark would firmly pin Tony’s Soul to the Timeline, unshakable by anyone.
This was the source of Tony’s confidence. With a cheat-like artifact such as the Allspark, any man-made temporal power or Speedsters altering the Timeline was complete bullshit, utterly useless against him.
Tony’s body might be grievously injured, but his Soul would remain unaffected.
At the Dimensional Portal, Dormammu, who was watching the show with great composure, was the most direct observer of this turn of events, showing no change in emotion whatsoever.
To a being of his stature, a mere momentary suspension of time was nothing. Reversing time might carry an extremely low probability of an accident, but stopping time… that was just a crude application of the Time Stone.
Dormammu had dealt with the Ancient One his entire life; he was all too familiar with the power of the Time Stone.
The more he looked at the miserable Azazel, the stronger Dormammu's sense of superiority grew. The comparison made the difference clear. They were both Demigods, but Azazel was a complete tragedy. He, on the other hand, had known glory and would continue to be glorious in the future. He was still the great Dark Lord, a being whose might shook the Universe…
"My loyal servant, come help me kill this idiot Azazel." The Mystic Energy around Tony gradually subsided as he beckoned to Dormammu at a most inappropriate time.
Dormammu: "..."
...
During the short time Tony was fighting in the Pocket Dimension, an extraterrestrial visitor piloted a spaceship toward Earth.
It was a very, very small spaceship, almost like a large baby carriage. Its exterior had no metallic sheen; it was made of a super-strong alloy from an advanced civilization, far harder than most metals on Earth.
This small, spherical spaceship reached the Solar System at Faster-than-light speed and slowly began to decelerate.
The creature inside the spaceship had a white exterior, sharp eyes, and a robust physique.
The closer it got to the Solar System, the more excited it became. The blessings of the Yellow Sun made every cell in its body cheer with joy.
But upon entering the Solar System, an immense sense of crisis overwhelmed all its senses, filling it with endless panic and despair.
The dual stimulus of hope and despair plunged this powerful, high-level being into great anxiety and confusion.
The closer it got to the blue planet, the more agitated the powerful being became. With every bit of distance closed toward that planet, which glowed with a strange light, the fatal sense of suffocation increased exponentially.
Finally, the powerful being was enraged. It couldn't understand what was happening. So, it stood up, revealing its strong, slender limbs, opened its mouth, and through the spaceship window, let out a roar of anger and suppression in the direction of Earth.
Majestic, shocking, grand, powerful… countless words could be used to describe this roar, filled with confusion and fury.
Within the roar, of course, was also an indescribable sense of immense fear.
This was the first cry of a powerhouse that this high-level being had let out after a long period of slumber in the spaceship.
"Woof!"
"Woof woof woof woof woof woof!!!"
