Chapter 307

Chapter 299: Gilding

2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit

A rainbow-like light, under the cover of night, descended from the sky.

While half the people on Earth were asleep, this colorful light flashed and disappeared instantly, making many believe they had imagined it.

"Hey, our prince has descended to the mortal realm. How pathetic, tsk tsk tsk."

Tony was a little smug.

"...How do you plan to handle it? Imprison him?" Mordo asked from the side.

Tony shook his head. "Odin spoke with me. This time, it's purely for Thor to come to Earth for some gilding."

"Gil... gilding?" Mordo was a bit bewildered.

"Don't underestimate our Earth, Mordo. The waters run deep on this small planet. Asgard actually isn't much to speak of. Right now, they entirely depend on the aged and infirm Odin to sustain them. Once Odin dies, Yggdrasil will fall into chaos. Many are eager to see Odin dead."

Tony wasn't just spouting nonsense. A Level Seven Odin might seem very strong, but just give Earth a little time, and even Superman could grow to a level capable of taking down a God-King.

Not to mention the Ancient One isn't dead yet and is still in Hell hunting down Mephisto, that wretch.

Odin himself doesn't have much time left, and daily, he struggles to suppress the Odin Force he's accumulated his entire life, having to do so by entering a deep sleep.

"Hmph, these Ancient Pantheon..." Mordo scoffed coldly.

The enmity between Kamar-Taj and the various Pantheons is built upon mountains of corpses and seas of blood. Given an opportunity, one side would certainly not hesitate to completely obliterate the other.

However, as things currently stand, Kamar-Taj holds the absolute upper hand.

Asgard relies solely on Odin for support. This God-King is even so old and frail that he can no longer wear the Destroyer Armor.

And by Tony's side, a group of Demigod-level figures like Diana, Liana, Dormammu, and Krypto were gathered. He even had the Dark Dimension, Time and Space Stones, and Apokolips's Mother Box as trump cards.

Superman and other individuals capable of fighting a war are still developing quietly.

Wizard Shazam has completely hidden himself; no matter how Tony searches, he cannot find him.

Earth truly has nothing to fear from Asgard.

"We cannot just focus on hatred, Mordo. At least God-King Odin has faithfully performed his duty as the Guardian of the Nine Realms. He has killed countless alien creatures over the years; otherwise, Earth would have been invaded long ago. The Kree have always been watching Earth."

Tony narrowed his eyes and casually offered Mordo a piece of advice. Rather than useless persuasion for the stubborn Mordo, it was more like Tony's own thoughts.

The old grudges between Kamar-Taj and Asgard are hundreds of years old, although for Asgardians, who live for five thousand years, it seems like it happened yesterday.

Reality is far more worthy of attention than old hatreds.

Of course, if Asgard ruins itself, Tony would certainly not hesitate to get involved and gain some benefits.

After a moment of contemplation, Tony slowly stood up and said to Mordo, "Let it be. Remain watchful; we shouldn't interfere. Having lost his Divine Power, he's merely a slightly stronger Ordinary Human and can't cause any significant damage."

"What if he gets into danger? This could very likely trigger a new round of conflict between Earth and Asgard." Mordo furrowed his brow.

"Then let him die," Tony said blandly. "We are Earth's Guardians, not nannies for some fallen Deity. If a descendant of a God-King really gets killed by an Ordinary Human on Earth, whose fault is that? Blame Earthlings for being too ruthless? Furthermore, Odin wouldn't just stand by and watch his only heir be killed by Earthlings. That would be a disgrace to all of Asgard."

"Where are you going?"

"I'm going to the edge of the Solar System to research how to perform Planet Creation... No, I'll go research that Mjolnir first. I'm still very curious about Divine Power, that type of Energy."

Tony patted the dust off his clothes, opened a Portal, and slowly walked in. As he left, he didn't forget to put on the Time Stone.

He didn't believe Odin's Spell could ignore the Power of the Time Stone. Even Vision could lift Mjolnir, so there was no reason Tony couldn't lift it.

Mordo felt a bit helpless, looking around the empty Sanctum. He suddenly felt mentally exhausted and somewhat missed the Ancient One; at least the Ancient One wouldn't dump a pile of trivial matters on him.

After thinking carefully, Mordo still felt uneasy. That Pantheon had left him with a very bad impression, and he felt it necessary to conduct basic surveillance on Thor.

"Let Wong go then."

Mordo murmured softly.

"Shop owner, give me a warhorse!"

The broad-shouldered, brawny Thor strode confidently with vigorous steps, arrogantly walking into a... pet store.

The pet store's Boss stared blankly at Thor.

The Earth woman who had fortunately saved him, Jane, honked her horn outside and shouted, "Do you want a ride?"

Thor turned his head, glanced disdainfully at Jane, then got into the car without a word.

Thor complimented, "You are very good, woman. I appreciate you."

"What?"

"Not all Mortals can accept the praise of the God of Thunder," Thor said as a matter of course.

Jane closed her mouth, feeling she shouldn't have given this strange person a ride; it made her look like a lunatic herself.

But her intuition told her that this suddenly appearing strong man was likely related to the complex Runic Pattern left on the ground after the Bifrost transportation, and to the sudden change in weather.

Although she dismissed Thor's entire spiel as nonsense.

"In this world, there are already amazing Sorcerers, and now another one pops up, claiming to be a Deity from Norse mythology..."

Jane shook her head, feeling a headache coming on.

She was an astrophysicist with extensive knowledge, firmly believing that so-called Magic could be explained by science. For a materialist, simply accepting the existence of Sorcerers was already remarkable, largely thanks to her youth and her openness to new things.

But this idiot who declared himself Thor made Jane somewhat unable to comprehend.

What kind of Deity could be knocked out by hospital anesthetics?

If she hadn't saved him, this guy would still be in a psychiatric hospital, tied to a bed by a group of doctors.

"Do you know Sorcerers?" Thor raised an eyebrow, suddenly turning his head to look at her. "Then do you know Tony, Earth's Sorcerer Supreme? Odin's son wants to see him."

"Ton... Tony?" Jane flinched, and the big truck almost flipped over. Fortunately, Jane's driving skills were proficient, otherwise, she would have sent the great Thor to the West.

Asgard's history would record it like this: Thor, son of Odin, was exiled to Earth, died in a car accident...

"You know your Guardian?" Thor was a bit surprised.

Jane nodded. "Of course, he was the most prominent person in the last few years; many people know him, and he's also considered my superior."

"Superior? You are a Warrior under the Sorcerer Supreme?"

"What warrior, what are you talking about?" Jane said. "I am an employee of A.R.G.U.S., and Tony is the behind-the-scenes Controller of A.R.G.U.S."
