Chapter 300: Raising Mjolnir
October 19, 2022 | Author: Great Demon Spirit
The large vehicle continued its journey westward towards New Mexico.
Neither of them spoke, silently watching the road ahead, each lost in their own thoughts, appearing somewhat distracted.
Jane suddenly felt a flicker of suspicion towards Tony and Thor. A woman's unique sensitivity always led her to meticulously analyze existing clues.
A self-proclaimed Deity actually knew Tony, even mentioning "Sorcerer Supreme" and "Guardian"... Not long ago, Tony had orchestrated the massive operation to encircle and suppress Dormammu, a terrifying battle that severely impacted Earth.
It even led to a boom in religions and the rise of numerous cults. Although The Authorities quickly suppressed them, the chaos of that period was undeniable.
Even now, people on the internet are still debating it.
It was also from that time that the existence of Sorcerers was accepted by the populace. Sorcerers and Mutants became two genuinely existing special groups within Humanity.
Of course, a group of charlatan spirit mediums also emerged to deceive people, but that's another story.
Jane suddenly started to believe. Perhaps the man beside her really was the legendary Thor? But that was too preposterous...
Thor, at this moment, quietly filed away the term "A.R.G.U.S." He had always thought Kamar-Taj was Tony's faction, but now there was an A.R.G.U.S. as well.
"What do you want to do at the sealed-off area? S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents have blocked it off," Jane broke the silence, probing.
"I need to retrieve my Mjolnir," Thor said.
"Myow... Myow what?"
"Mjolnir, the God of Thunder's Hammer," Thor stated seriously. "I have lost my Divine Power now, like a Mortal. I need to get my Mjolnir back to restore my Divine Power."
"Then how did you lose your Divine Power?"
"I led my friends to wage war against another world, and this displeased my father." Thor turned to look at the intelligent Human woman, a smile on his face.
He didn't mind chatting more with this woman who showed him such tolerance. In any case, once he retrieved Mjolnir, he would return to Asgard, and they would never meet again.
Asgardians have a lifespan far exceeding that of Humans. Even the young Thor was already fifteen hundred years old.
Just as the two were looking at the temporary structure clearly visible ahead, an uninvited guest arrived at the structure sealed off by S.H.I.E.L.D.
A golden door opened, and Sorcerer Supreme Tony calmly walked out, ignoring the instantly alert and warning Agents around him. His gaze went directly to the ancient-looking Mjolnir.
One Agent drew his gun and fired, but his electronic devices were immediately animated, easily knocking him to the ground, his arm gripped by a Small Transformer, leaving him unable to move.
Everyone's expressions changed. This signature ability belonged only to the Machinist, categorized by S.H.I.E.L.D. as Danger Level 10.
"Agent Coulson, since you're here, why not come out and greet an old friend? Or, now that you're the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., do you look down on an old friend like me?"
Tony smiled, not even glancing at the surrounding Agents.
In less than a second, almost all the machinery within this large temporary structure was animated. Countless Transformers leaped up, eyeing everyone menacingly.
Many people had obvious beads of sweat running down their foreheads.
"I also didn't expect the Sorcerer Supreme to come to this humble place," Agent Coulson, unseen for a long time, walked down the steps, his face solemn and cold, his gentle smile completely gone.
Since Tony had used a Nuclear Bomb to blast S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Helicarrier, burying top Agents and scientists, including former Director Nick Fury, the two had not met again.
And couldn't meet.
"Don't say that, Agent Coulson." Tony made to sit casually. But before he could land, several Small Transformers instantly rushed over and transformed into chairs, steadily supporting him.
"There was no clear right or wrong to what happened back then. S.H.I.E.L.D. supervises the globe, yet couldn't control something as dangerous as a Nuclear Bomb. To say you have no problems at all, even ghosts wouldn't believe it!"
Tony sneered, "Agent Coulson, you know my temper. You people sent a Nuclear Bomb, so is it really that surprising that I gave S.H.I.E.L.D. one back? You should know, if I wanted to, my abilities could control all the Nuclear Bombs globally. No matter how you store them, they still require mechanical equipment. I can detonate all Nuclear Bombs globally at any time."
"Using machinery against me is the stupidest way."
Agent Coulson's face was cold, and he remained silent.
What happened back then was a muddled mess. Agent Coulson had been investigating, but there were never any results. That one Nuclear Bomb had completely pushed Tony to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s opposing side.
Moreover, before the Nuclear Blast, S.H.I.E.L.D. had been infiltrating A.R.G.U.S., stealing various secrets, and even dispatched Natasha, Black Widow, to infiltrate, hoping to turn A.R.G.U.S. into a subordinate agency of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The animosity between the two sides had long existed. Whatever goodwill there was from before had been completely eroded by S.H.I.E.L.D.'s actions.
"Relax, I'm not here to cause trouble this time. I am the Guardian of Earth, and my primary mission is, of course, to protect our beautiful planet," Tony reassured him.
Agent Coulson looked at Tony's smiling face, feeling a surge of exasperation.
How did a person like this become the master of Kamar-Taj? But thinking about it carefully, with his fierce and vengeful nature, his hands-off management style, and his unresolvable abilities, if Tony were to be the Guardian... it might not be such an unacceptable thing.
S.H.I.E.L.D. truly had no other choice. They had also progressively come into contact with lower-level Sorcerers—the profession of Sorcerer had always existed, but they were often mistaken for Mutants.
For example, Constantine, operating under the title of Hell Detective, specialized in dealing with Demons from Hell, conning people everywhere, successfully earning him the reputation of Con.
When S.H.I.E.L.D. humbled itself to seriously contact struggling Sorcerers, the intelligence they gained was astonishing.
Especially the name Kamar-Taj, which was not a secret in the Magic world.
Didn't the paralyzed Pangborn play basketball in perfect health? And he even guided Stephen Strange to seek Kamar-Taj.
Over the years, many half-baked Sorcerers had left Kamar-Taj. They had reached the limits of their wisdom and could no longer study more Magic.
Magic heavily depended on talent. There was a one in a hundred thousand chance of having Magic learning Potential, but the ceiling for most people with Magic aptitude was very low. After learning to a certain extent, they would leave Kamar-Taj.
Kamar-Taj couldn't afford to support so many people whose Potential was exhausted; it would be a net loss.
"Are you here this time... for this Mjolnir?"
Agent Coulson slowly put away his wariness and guard. A huge chasm had long formed between him and Tony, both in terms of strength and status.
Tony nodded and said, "This Mjolnir is an extraordinary item; it's Thor's weapon."
"Thor... Thor?" Agent Coulson was bewildered, and the other Agents were also bewildered.
Norse mythology is very prevalent in the West. Hearing that name abruptly, they even felt it was unreliable.
Could this Tony, who claimed to be the Sorcerer Supreme, be an idiot?
Agent Coulson reacted first, his face growing even more serious, terrifyingly dark. "Are you sure? A Deity's weapon? Are there really Deities in this world?"
Tony looked at him with an inscrutable expression.
"What do you think Kamar-Taj is for? The Deities killed by the previous Sorcerer Supreme could pile up into a mountain of corpses. Without Kamar-Taj and the previous Sorcerer Supreme, Humans on Earth would still be kept like pigs and dogs by the Deities."
Tony walked over, looking at Mjolnir, which had been carefully excavated and stood silently on a small mound of earth. Under everyone's gaze, he slowly extended his hand and gripped it tightly.
Gulp.
Someone swallowed loudly, a very clear sound.
"This is Mjolnir, the Hammer of Thor, one of Asgard's highest Divine Power Creations, possessing mighty Divine Power."
The cold sensation sent a jolt through him, making every hair on his body stand on end.
He could feel the terrifying Divine Power sealed within.
Tony was no stranger to Divine Power; Diana herself possessed the blessings of the twelve Olympian Gods, with Divine Power inherited from Zeus.
Tony took a deep breath, and under the tense gaze of the others, he let out a low roar.
"Rise!"
In that instant, nothing happened!
Mjolnir didn't budge an inch.
Even the soil beneath Mjolnir remained completely still.
Awkward silence.
Many people suddenly felt a strange sense of superiority and wanted to laugh.
Everyone here had tried to lift Mjolnir, but no one had succeeded.
Tony, who claimed to be the planet's protector, was also utterly helpless.
Before Agent Coulson, whose stiff expression had subtly changed with a hint of emotion, could speak, Tony once again reached out and grabbed the handle of Mjolnir.
This time, he let out a low roar, and all the Energy in his body erupted: Magic Power, Allspark, Time Stone, like a suddenly erupting volcano, shaking the earth.
Cracks began to appear on the ground, as if an earthquake had struck. To everyone's astonished gazes, a powerful Divine Power surged from Mjolnir, directly triggering changes in Earth's weather.
Rumble!
Terrifying Thunder illuminated the sky! Pouring rain suddenly fell, and icy raindrops soaked everyone's clothes, making their hearts grow even colder with fear.
Amidst the apocalyptic scene, in the thunderous lightning, Tony raised Mjolnir high, the symbol of Power and divinity.
Mjolnir was forcibly lifted. Odin's curse began to resist, but it was suppressed by Tony's even stronger Power level.
The surging Divine Power, like a violent ocean, impacted Tony's body. The deafening roar echoed far and wide.
The sudden anomaly in the sky and earth immediately caused Thor, who was rushing in the car, to change his expression drastically and cry out in disbelief!
"How is this possible! Someone lifted Mjolnir!"
