Chapter 313: Clone, Death
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit
The Destroyer Armor is Asgard's strongest armor. Back then, Odin wore this powerful armor to sweep through the Nine Realms.
If it weren't for his advanced age and his aging body struggling to even bear the Odin Force he'd accumulated throughout his life, very few would dare to provoke this God-King.
Mephisto's eyes flickered. After waiting for a long time, there was still no sign of the Destroyer.
Only demon corpses littered the ground.
Mjolnir was thrown by Tony with all his might, crashing into Mephisto like a huge mountain and instantly smashing his chest to a pulp.
Viscous blood, like lava, flowed out, sizzling as it hit the ground and emitting a pungent odor.
"Looks like Loki screwed you over." Tony walked over, looking down at Mephisto. He slowly picked up the hammer, raised it high, and prepared to smash it down again.
Mephisto, however, was calm. "Who tricked whom is still up for debate. Does that guy really think his petty schemes can deceive me? He's probably driving the Destroyer Armor to Kamar-Taj now, intending to seize Mjolnir while I'm holding you back."
"No, you're wrong. Loki wouldn't truly care about Mjolnir." Tony's smile was a bit strange. "He'd prioritize killing Thor. Using the Destroyer Armor to kill Thor is indeed a good idea. The only loss will be this Clone of yours."
Max and the others killed all the demons and quickly gathered, eyeing the severely wounded, dying Mephisto with predatory gazes.
"Kill this demon, then go kill Loki," Max said in a low voice. "I am willing to serve you, sir."
"No, Max, it's not your time to act yet. We don't need to interfere in the love-hate rivalry between Loki and Thor."
Boom!
Tony took one last look at Mephisto, then smashed his head.
The Great Demon's Clone shattered, splitting apart like a watermelon.
"Everyone be careful during this time. Mephisto definitely has more than one Clone; that guy surely has another trick up his sleeve," Tony said after pondering for a moment, looking up at the sky.
He had already figured out what Mephisto wanted.
Blackheart, the San Venganza Covenant.
Blackheart single-mindedly wanted to seize the San Venganza Covenant to enhance his power, giving him the strength to establish his own domain on Earth and create a New Hell.
As for Mephisto, his weak Clone could be greatly enhanced through the San Venganza Covenant, and in turn deal with Tony.
After all, the power of a thousand evil spirits was sealed within the San Venganza Covenant. Whoever controlled the Covenant would possess all the power of those evil spirits.
Mephisto, that cunning Great Demon, was ultimately not that easy to deal with.
After Max and the others returned, Tony and Wanda also strolled through the ruined manor.
Intense energy waves had destroyed the neat ground and numerous flowers and trees, leaving the beautiful manor an utter mess.
Even the power lines were damaged, plunging a large area into darkness.
Tony and Wanda simply strolled, the darkness and muddy ground meaning nothing at all to them.
"Should we try to summon the Ancient One back?" Wanda hesitated for a moment, her voice very soft, as if afraid to disturb something.
Tony couldn't help but laugh. He patted Wanda's head, gently stroking her red hair. "It's not time yet. If I can't even handle one Mephisto, I'd be too ashamed before the Ancient One."
More importantly, Tony knew the Ancient One's character very well. Since the Ancient One chose to go to Hell, she wouldn't return until she achieved her goal or confirmed it couldn't be achieved.
Never underestimate the strongest sorcerer who guarded Earth for countless ages.
Her perseverance, wisdom, and strength were all among the best of Earthlings.
"The next time Loki comes to Earth, I will resign from the position of Sorcerer Supreme and hand it over to Stephen; he is actually more suitable than me. The Ancient One practically forced me into it."
Tony hesitated for a moment as he spoke to Wanda.
Wanda dutifully hummed in agreement, not pressing for the reason. She leaned comfortably into Tony's arms, occasionally nudging him like a small cat.
Tony smiled and patted Wanda's shoulder, sighing silently.
He couldn't be the Sorcerer Supreme his whole life; that wasn't his goal or his ideal. It was Stephen's ideal.
The next time Loki came to Earth, Tony would directly take the Mind Stone and S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Space Stone, then travel to the universe.
Therefore, Tony wasn't actually worried about Mephisto and the others. As long as he wanted to, he could always possess both the Time and Space Stones, making it simple to deal with Mephisto's Clone.
No matter what tricks Mephisto pulled, he was ultimately just a weak Clone. Even if infinitely enhanced, he could at most reach demigod status, making it impossible for him to be stronger than the main body.
The threat of Doomsday hung over his head like a Sword of Damocles.
Tony comforted Wanda with a few words. After coaxing her to sleep, Tony directly opened a Portal and returned to Kamar-Taj.
As expected, although Kamar-Taj had long received Tony's orders and was on full alert, preparing for the enemy, Loki didn't appear at all.
It was a 'better safe than sorry' move.
"Let some people rest, and keep half on alert. Arrange it this way for a period of time in the future," Tony instructed Mordo. "From now on, no matter which enemy comes knocking, kill them directly. Be it Loki or Mephisto, strike to kill. I will bear all the consequences."
Tony then asked, "What about Dormammu?"
"No unusual activity," Mordo replied in a low voice.
Tony nodded. Using the power of the contract, Dormammu, who had received the command, was forced to rush over, looking annoyed.
"Dormammu, do you choose to return to New York with me, or continue to stay in Kamar-Taj?"
"I'd rather return to the Dark Dimension," Dormammu grumbled.
"Then I'll kill you right now," Tony said.
"What if I want to continue staying in Kamar-Taj?"
"Then I'd still kill you. I wouldn't give you a chance to study Kamar-Taj's magic arrays—Mordo, change the magic arrays immediately after I leave," Tony said calmly.
Dormammu cursed Tony as shameless in his heart, thinking, "Thankfully, I was clever enough to ask beforehand, or else I'd die for no clear reason."
Although their relationship had somewhat softened—truly only by a tiny bit—if he had the chance, Dormammu wouldn't hesitate to turn around and enslave Tony.
"I'm a soul body; do you intend to put me in your manor?" Dormammu sneered.
"You're overthinking it. You'll stick close to me."
Dormammu looked vexed. He was still thinking of tricking Tony into throwing him into the New York Sanctum to facilitate his study of the three sub-Sanctums that served as the three main hubs of Earth's overall magic array.
Unfortunately, Tony was very wary of him. Even though he had been released from the Magic Prison, Dormammu's every move was being monitored by Tony through the enslavement contract. Some of Dormammu's actions simply couldn't escape Tony's notice.
