Chapter 542

Chapter 529: Stan Lee, Wa Tu, Origin

The dimension collapsed, and Amatsu-Mikaboshi strode out, his aura even more complex and terrifying.

He had devoured Zeus and the entire Olympus Pantheon, save for Ares, and his power had soared.

"The Heavenly Court is next..."

Amatsu-Mikaboshi's gaze was ferocious and terrifying; his entire form had become a colossal shadow.

Ares, the God of War, followed humbly behind him, stooped over like an obedient lapdog, his eyes revealing a profound fear.

The aura of divine power from numerous pantheons emanating from Amatsu-Mikaboshi made Ares's scalp tingle with terror.

"Ares, my servant, do you have any good suggestions?" Amatsu-Mikaboshi glanced at him, his voice filled with coldness and grim indifference.

Ares bowed lower. "Your servant thinks..."

Smack!

A vicious slap sent Ares flying as if he'd been struck by a giant hammer, spitting blood.

"You actually dare to have suggestions?"

Amatsu-Mikaboshi shot Ares a contemptuous glance.

God of War? More like a dog of war.

Ares didn't dare make a peep. He hastily lowered his head, but the rage and fear in his heart rose uncontrollably.

"That place, Great Luo Heaven... those immortals have been running it for a long time. Who knows what secrets they're plotting."

Amatsu-Mikaboshi pondered for a moment, casually glanced in a certain direction, then rose and tore open space, heading off.

Ares stared at the void, hesitated, then gritted his teeth. He humiliatingly wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. A sinister glint flashed in his eyes for an instant before vanishing. He then adjusted his helmet, took up his weapon, and followed.

The world of Olympus had met its complete destruction and end.

Not far from them, an old man dressed in the garb of the Watcher Race was recording something.

"He definitely saw me. What a terrifying fellow. To think I'd run into such a ruthless character right after arriving in the Prime Universe. I must record him."

"My intuition never lies. This peculiar god will surely cause a great disaster."

The old man, wearing sunglasses, muttered to himself.

Beside the old man, Wa Tu arrived in a small spaceship.

Wa Tu looked at his fellow kinsman with some surprise. "Stan Lee? Why have you come to the Prime Universe?"

The Watcher Race would dispatch new assistants to help him; after all, it was impossible for Wa Tu to record all the major events of a universe by himself.

But he hadn't expected it to be Stan Lee.

"I had no choice, they kicked me over." Stan Lee was tottering and looked ridiculously old, but in reality, his body was robust, far stronger than an ordinary Earthling's.

"They complained that I was always wandering around on the Earth of the Origin Universe, thinking I wasn't doing my job."

Stan Lee grinned, revealing a set of big white teeth as he grumbled, "But what do they know? I've recorded everything! Every single thing that happens on Earth, I've recorded it!"

"Including your own daily life? Even the measurements of every magazine cover model?"

"Of course! I, Stan Lee, record everything! That is my duty!" the old man declared righteously.

Wa Tu suddenly felt a headache coming on.

"You don't understand, you're too young, Wa Tu. The Origin Universe is far more complex than you imagine. It's almost entirely filled with mortals—except for that troublesome Superboy-Prime, who's always making trouble for me."

"But I heard you went up to him and started prying into his girlfriend's private life... It was magnanimous of Superboy not to beat you to death."

Wa Tu clutched his head, sensing that his future was going to be very troublesome.

"That's because she's Superboy-Prime's girlfriend! Otherwise, would I have bothered with her? You underestimate me!" Stan Lee waved his arms indignantly.

Coming from the Origin Universe, Superboy-Prime was undoubtedly a figure akin to a child of the universe. Although he was a bit of a chunibyo, his power was immense.

Wa Tu sighed, feeling utterly helpless.

This senior kinsman of his had been responsible for recording the Origin Universe for many years. But because the situation in the Origin Universe was so unique, with no noteworthy superhumans other than Superboy-Prime, the entire universe was actually very peaceful.

This led to Stan Lee being seen as "not doing his proper job" in the eyes of the other Watchers.

In the entire vast Prime Universe, all the Watchers except for Wa Tu had been slaughtered by Doomsday. They were in need of manpower, so they simply dispatched him to the Prime Universe to help Wa Tu.

This made the old man very sad. He was far from his own universe, far from that peaceful world.

The old man even specifically held a funeral for himself, mobilizing his friends and relatives from his "previous life" to attend, while he hid and secretly wiped away his tears.

Then he had eagerly trotted over to the Prime Universe to be an observer.

The Origin Universe really was boring, full of ordinary people. Usually, the only thing he could do was go and harass Superboy-Prime.

As a result, the moment he arrived in the Prime Universe, he encountered the major event of Amatsu-Mikaboshi conquering Olympus. How delightful.

Wa Tu sized him up and suddenly asked, "Has there been any unusual activity from the Editorial Department?"

The old man's movements stiffened. He nodded, then shook his head. "Same as always. They're publishing comics and novels on a regular schedule. The latest installment has reached the part where Ancient Doomsday attacks the Prime Universe."

"...It's lagging behind?"

"Indeed. I don't know what that group of editors and authors is thinking, to have fallen so far out of sync with the storyline of the Prime Universe," Stan Lee said, perplexed.

The Editorial Department, hidden behind the Fourth Wall, had always been operating under a disguise.

And the Origin Universe was, in fact, the special universe closest to the Editorial Department. There, aside from Superboy-Prime, the Earth was filled with ordinary people who commuted to and from work every day.

Oh, the Earthlings there also had a hobby: buying the comics and novels published by the Editorial Department, which was a part of their daily lives.

"In any case, we shouldn't interfere with the matters of the Editorial Department," Wa Tu said. "Since you've left the Origin Universe, you should completely forget about what happens there, especially concerning the Editorial Department. I always get the feeling those guys are not good people."

"It's very likely that what you just said will be written into the storyline by the people from the Editorial Department," Stan Lee said with a chuckle.

"It doesn't matter. After all, we Watchers and they have always had a tacit understanding to ignore each other."

Wa Tu shrugged.

The existence of the Editorial Department was peculiar, but it had nothing to do with the Watchers. They were only responsible for observing and recording.

And to be honest, among the Great Entities in the Sphere of the Gods, which one of them wasn't peculiar if you singled them out? The history of every deity's growth is a soul-stirring tale.

"Then it's settled. I'll be in charge of observing Earth in the Prime Universe," the old man declared with a grand wave of his hand.

"Alright. I've already moved my base to the Cybertron galaxy. I'll leave Earth to you."

"Cybertron? Never heard of it."

"Don't worry, I'll give you a copy of the relevant data. But you must keep it strictly confidential," Wa Tu said.

From now on, the old man will no longer be observing our real universe. He has gone to other universes to continue his work as an observer... Fare thee well!
