Chapter 556

Chapter 543: Is My Luck Really This Bad?

2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit

Tony sat on the Mobius Chair, his expression grave and his eyes tightly shut as he received the knowledge being transmitted from it.

In an instant, Tony seemed to transform into a deity, looking down upon the entire multiverse. Countless dark little spheres were scattered like stars, arranged within the crimson Blood Realm.

Countless scenes of joy and sorrow, countless incredible events, were fragmented and poured into Tony's mind.

At this moment, Tony was like a god—a god who could overlook everything, an omniscient being.

The Mobius Chair, an artifact capable of allowing a mortal to achieve deification in a single leap, was truly a rare treasure.

But it was for this very reason that the chair's danger level skyrocketed. Any lifeform that sat on it would be blinded and intoxicated by this illusion of omniscience, eventually becoming a slave to the chair.

They would forget that it was not they themselves who were omnipotent, but the chair upon which they sat.

For the so-called God of Knowledge, the chair was the true master; the creature sitting on it was unimportant.

"Cross-dimensional targeting, initiating logical algorithm screening... 685,489,496 universes meet the criteria..."

The voice of the Mobius Chair echoed in Tony's central processor.

"Narrow the scope. I want to select a universe where powerhouses are scarce, one that is entering its twilight years, and it must not be too far from the Prime Universe," Tony said.

As for what "not too far" meant, the Mobius Chair would naturally calculate it based on a frame of reference.

The chair flickered with white light. After a long while, another message was transmitted: "A total of four universes meet the conditions."

"Engage. Initiate cross-universe travel."

Tony glanced down at the chair and said calmly.

Instantly, a powerful barrier emanated from the chair to ward off the series of dangers caused by superluminal travel, serving as a form of protection for Tony.

The Prime Universe below him shrank rapidly. The incredible speed would have been enough to make an ordinary human dizzy, but such computational strain had no effect on Tony whatsoever. He calmly watched the rapidly disappearing scenery, lost in thought.

With a soft crack, a small opening was torn in the universal wall. A sizzling sound erupted. The viscous energy from the endless Blood Realm immediately began to seep through, attempting to obstruct and restrain any entity leaving the universe.

A powerhouse could barely move, while a weakling would be instantly stuck in the energy, slowly ground to death.

Tony was only half an arm's length away from the dangerous energy of the Blood Realm, observing it with great interest. The next moment, a dazzling white light burst forth, and the Mobius Chair carried Tony away, vanishing without a trace.

The immense space-time began to lurch. All sorts of bizarre scenes flooded uncontrollably into Tony's central processor. Intense energy waves slammed against the barrier, causing violent tremors.

A long time later, or perhaps in the very next second, the scene abruptly changed. Tony had arrived in an unfamiliar universe.

"This is the place?" Tony glanced around.

"This is a universe that has been invaded by a powerful enemy. Although it is in its prime, it is already riddled with wounds and could face death at any moment," the chair explained.

"Let's see... a great war is breaking out on this universe's Earth? Good, take me to Earth immediately," Tony commanded.

The scene flashed, and a beautiful, azure planet appeared before Tony's eyes. But this planet was engulfed in towering flames everywhere. Violent earthquakes were frequent, and hundreds of volcanoes that had lain dormant for millennia had become active again, erupting with lava that destroyed everything in its path.

It was a scene of the apocalypse.

Tony controlled the chair and flew closer to watch the battle from a short distance. Screams, rebukes, and roars of fury filled his ears.

"I'm asking! Who's next!!!"

"Who else dares to oppose me, Supreme Superman!"

"You lowly creatures, as pathetic as ants! I, Kal-El, will slaughter every last one of you!"

A muscular, bare-chested man had a bloody "S" scarred onto his chest, as if it had been carved into his flesh with a knife.

With one punch, he sent Superman flying, crashing through a mountain peak. With his other hand, he pinned a lunging Iron Man. With a slight exertion of force, he pierced through the armor, his arm plunging deep into Iron Man's chest, slick with blood.

"You dare to oppose me with this piece of junk armor! Die!!"

The man cruelly licked the blood that had splattered onto his face and proceeded to tear Iron Man in half on the spot.

The ground was littered with corpses, yet more figures charged forward one after another. Many couldn't even withstand a single blow and were killed instantly, their bodies not even left intact.

"I'm asking! Who!! Is!! Next!!!"

The deafening roar thundered through the clouds. His towering figure floated in the air, the bulging veins in his body pulsing with scalding blood, its roar more majestic than any river on Earth. He killed one enemy after another, like a demon god.

Tony flew into outer space, took one look, and without a second word, decisively turned to leave.

"Holy crap, is that Edgy Supes? Can't mess with him, no way."

Superboy-Prime, the Superman from the Origin Universe. Of course, he didn't acknowledge it when others called him Superboy; he stubbornly referred to himself as Supreme Superman.

He was a guy who was chunibyo to the extreme, with a one-track mind who did whatever he pleased, and worst of all, he never considered the consequences of his actions.

Destroying planets and taking on an entire universe on a whim—the power and mindlessness of Edgy Supes were enough to make Tony keep his distance.

A white light flashed, and Tony hastily piloted the Mobius Chair to flee in a panic. With Edgy Supes on the loose, this universe was beyond saving. He'd just let the Justice League and Avengers handle it.

First universe, eliminated.

Tony immediately entered the second suitable universe to observe.

But the moment he entered, his vision blurred. Before Tony could even assess the situation, a translucent, humanoid form glowing with blue light appeared right in front of him.

Tony and the unknown lifeform locked eyes—the other being had no pupils.

Tony sized up the big blue nudist before him and fell into a strange silence, wondering if his luck had really gotten this bad.

"Doctor Manhattan?" Tony suddenly asked.

Doctor Manhattan nodded, his pale eyes staring straight at Tony.

"My apologies, just passing through."

Tony urged the chair to turn and leave.

Doctor Manhattan watched Tony disappear into the white light, contemplated for a moment, and then vanished. His body dissolved into countless blue particles, scattering throughout the universe.

A bead of cold sweat quietly trickled down Tony's forehead. His body had been tense and on high alert, and only after a long while did he finally relax slightly.

Doctor Manhattan was, strictly speaking, from his old stomping grounds. In the 1970s of the Prime Universe's Earth, Doctor Manhattan became a quantum lifeform due to a lab accident.

After experiencing numerous setbacks in his career and love life, Doctor Manhattan completely abandoned his humanity, allowing divinity to take over his mind. He left Earth to go conduct experiments in other universes.
