Chapter 584: An Excited Steppenwolf

Author: Great Demon Spirit

The Anti-Matter Universe was a behemoth, 32 trillion light-years in diameter.

As the doppelganger universe of the Prime Universe, the sheer size of the Anti-Matter Universe was somewhat terrifying. After all, the Prime Universe's diameter was a mere 90 billion light-years.

However, considering that the Anti-Matter Universe was a peculiar universe standing in opposition to all Positive Matter Universes, including the Prime Universe, a diameter of 32 trillion light-years suddenly seemed reasonable.

But in Steppenwolf's eyes, it was all bullshit.

"The Anti-Matter Universe has never appeared in the countless reboots of the past."

Steppenwolf, carrying his great axe, wandered to the barrier at the edge of the Anti-Matter Universe.

The Anti-Matter Universe was the product of an experiment by a reckless Guardian from the Prime Universe named Krona. This forbidden experiment led to its birth.

This wasn't particularly strange; to put it bluntly, it was just another universe. Countless parallel universes were born every moment. Perhaps Krona's experiment had happened to affect a duplicate universe that had just split off from the Prime Universe, causing it to mutate.

It could be seen as an amplified version of the butterfly effect, where flicking a single tiny atom could send an entire universe down a completely different path.

But in Steppenwolf's eyes, this was still worthless.

Even the Anti-Matter Universe, appearing for the first time in this era, was nothing more than a slightly larger hunting ground to Steppenwolf.

Thirty-two trillion light-years is a lot? If his main body were here, he could flick an atom and instantly collapse this universe with ease.

Unfortunately, he couldn't. He could only send a clone.

Steppenwolf chiseled through the powerful anti-matter barrier. The next second, he stepped into the domain of the Anti-Matter Universe, where countless streams of anti-matter energy roamed through time-space.

"Damn the multiverse, damn the Speed Force Wall."

Steppenwolf cursed, grumbling as he felt the constantly squirming time-space, a wave of annoyance washing over him.

He interpreted the multiverse with the vision and perception of a singular god, and feeling the constantly shifting time-space was as uncomfortable as stepping into a quagmire.

Time and space were too fragile, constantly in motion. Compared to the Sphere of the Gods, where time-space was solidified and unified, the environment of the multiverse was abysmal.

He felt as though he could destroy the multiverse with a single exertion of force, yet his true body was constrained by the Speed Force Wall, unable to come here. He could only dispatch weak clones to act in his stead.

The feeling of having power but being unable to use it left Steppenwolf frustrated to the point of exploding.

"I hope that scumbag named Tony didn't lie to me. Otherwise, I'll make him feel my rage firsthand."

Steppenwolf zipped through the Anti-Matter Universe, his expression grim, yet tinged with a faint hint of anticipation.

The Anti-Life Equation. If it was truly in the Anti-Matter Universe, and if he could control it, he would become a supreme deity. He would ascend to the Omniverse-level in a single leap, standing shoulder to shoulder with the likes of the Living Tribunal.

Even Darkseid would be forced to submit to his majesty.

The mere thought of Darkseid kneeling before him, his face a mask of grievance, filled Steppenwolf with immense pleasure.

The rules of Apokolips were simple and brutal: might makes right. Steppenwolf's loyalty to Darkseid was entirely predicated on the fact that Darkseid was stronger than him.

But if Steppenwolf got his hands on the Anti-Life Equation... Loyalty? Such a ridiculous concept would vanish from him forever.

It would be Darkseid's turn to pledge allegiance to him.

"If the information is false, my countless clones will swarm the Prime Universe and utterly destroy it," Steppenwolf snarled with a savage grin.

Losing one clone in the Prime Universe, to be honest, was nothing. He had lost innumerable clones over the years; he couldn't care less.

But dying in battle was one thing; being tricked like a fool was another entirely. If Tony dared to deceive him, Steppenwolf would absolutely dispatch countless clones to destroy the Prime Universe and hunt Tony to the ends of the earth.

Because the stakes involving the Anti-Life Equation were too high, so high that even Steppenwolf was extremely tense.

"The ruler of the Anti-Matter Universe is its Monitor, Mobius, who is just a leg hair that split off from the Prime Monitor... If that equation truly exists in this universe, he must know something."

With a flicker of his eyes, Steppenwolf began to crudely search the timeline. Countless images flashed past; the hundreds of millions of years of the Anti-Matter Universe's development could not escape his gaze.

Every universe has a Monitor—that is common knowledge. All Monitors are just flakes of skin and strands of hair that fell from the terrifying Prime Monitor. However, a long time ago, all those miscellaneous Monitors were reabsorbed by the Prime Monitor.

Mobius was a rare exception, a Monitor who was still active, responsible for overseeing the balance of the Anti-Matter Universe.

Steppenwolf had no interest in what that sly old fox, the Prime Monitor, was planning, or why he hadn't reabsorbed Mobius. Right now, he only cared about whether he could get the equation.

The timeline he was probing suddenly showed a large blank patch, artificially concealed.

"Hmph, Mobius..." Steppenwolf sneered, his chillingly cruel expression becoming utterly tyrannical. He hefted his axe and made a beeline for Qward.

"Steppenwolf, what do you think you're doing?! The Anti-Matter Universe is not your hunting ground!" Mobius's deep voice boomed.

Steppenwolf licked his lips cruelly and said in a cold voice, "I'm just taking a look around. I haven't done anything... Why are you so nervous?"

"Everyone knows that wherever you, Steppenwolf, appear, disaster and destruction are sure to follow." Mobius's voice was tinged with anger. "Why aren't you out hunting the Golden Age Superman and the Black Iron Superman? What are you doing in the Anti-Matter Universe? Ultraman won't pose a threat to you!"

Ultraman was Superman's doppelganger in the Anti-Matter Universe.

"And what if I insist on killing him?" Steppenwolf chuckled in a low voice.

Mobius was silent for a moment before he slowly said, "Ultraman is my subordinate. I will not allow you to kill him."

The air was thick with tension.

"Then his death today is certain!" Steppenwolf swung his axe, sneering as he looked at Qward, a trillion light-years away.

Countless layers of time-space were crossed with ease, and Qward came clearly into view.

"If I let you kill Ultraman, will you leave?" After a while, Mobius asked again.

He didn't know if it was his imagination, but Steppenwolf detected a hint of urgency in his voice.

His heart settled. The fiery flames in his eyes burned wildly. With bloodshot eyes, Steppenwolf was now ninety percent certain.

The Anti-Life Equation was really here! And Mobius knew about it!

Only a fool would miss this opportunity!

Steppenwolf suddenly laughed, his voice filled with glee and fervor as he exclaimed excitedly, "I've changed my mind. I suddenly don't feel like leaving anymore!"

"Mobius, what in the world are you hiding?!"

...
