Chapter 638: Mr. Mxyzptlk on Earth
2022-10-19 Author: Great Demon Spirit
Brainiac is an incredibly terrifying Intelligent Lifeform; compared to it, Ultron in its prime is nothing.
When Brainiac goes wild, it can even trick Darkseid. There's nothing in this world that can stump it.
In DC Comics, Brainiac is a formidable enemy of the Justice League, an Intelligent Lifeform possessing Level Twelve, the highest level of intelligence.
To understand how terrifying Level Twelve intelligence is, simply compare it to Batman.
Batman, who boasts about overcoming all challenges, only possesses Level Nine intelligence, three tiers below Brainiac.
At the same time, Brainiac's presence is ubiquitous. The Brainiac created by Kryptonians and the internet created by Earthlings are both sub-programs of Brainiac.
God only knows how many sub-programs lie dormant across the Multiverse; wherever there's a Technological Civilization, there's Brainiac.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg of what Brainiac has revealed. It is essentially a Quasi-Unique God, possessing a Quasi-Unique nature that even the Multiverse cannot fully replicate.
Over long ages, Brainiac has traversed countless Universes, deploying untold numbers of sub-programs; wherever there is civilization, Brainiac's presence can be found.
The numbers are simply astronomical.
Compared to Brainiac, the mere Ultron robots capable of Dimension Hopping and Timeline travel are truly insignificant.
H'el watched the green robot before him with a cold sneer. Originally filled with wisdom and decisiveness, he now appeared sinister and frantic. He pointed to his head: "Rao wants me to tell you that Mr. Mxyzptlk has arrived. That terrifying fellow is on Earth, preparing to deal with Superman."
Brainiac looked at him expressionlessly, its green Bionic Skin resembling the bark of an ancient tree, lined with visible wrinkles.
"I'm starting to believe that Rao truly stands behind you," Brainiac, or rather, Brainiac, tilted its head, examining H'el with emotionless eyes, as if appraising a peculiar Collectible.
This is Brainiac's hobby. Due to past experiences, its favorite activity is to learn all sorts of knowledge from various civilizations, then shrink a representative city of that civilization and place it in a bottle for appreciation.
For this reason, Brainiac is known as the "Planet Collector."
Rumors in the Main Universe claim that Brainiac has recently set its sights on Ego the Living Planet, relentlessly pursuing Ego's whereabouts, much to the dismay of the powerful Level Seven Being, Ego.
Brainiac is always filled with curiosity and an insatiable desire for knowledge, both for the known and the unknown.
Compared to the limited scope of the Mobius Chair, Brainiac is truly the "God of Knowledge" in every sense. All knowledge in this world, including the small secrets of the unique gods, falls within Brainiac's scope of pursuit.
Brainiac's most formidable feat was trapping a Clone of Darkseid in a certain Universe, personally verifying the hypothesis that "the Omega Effect can be perfectly shared by both the main body and its Clone."
The price was that its sub-program was torn apart by an enraged Darkseid.
H'el scoffed: "A Deity stands behind me; he will protect his followers. Brainiac, I know everything about you. I know that the Ultron robots that emerged when Tony achieved Deification were secretly infiltrated by your sub-programs long ago. I also know about the enmity between you and the Fifth Dimension. Half of your original self lived a blissful life, only to be destroyed by a sudden attack from the Fifth Dimension. Your world was jokingly wiped out by Mr. Mxyzptlk."
Brainiac pulled out a Data Conduit from its head and connected a new one, seemingly communicating with its main body somewhere in the vast Multiverse.
This incident was related to the previous Multiverse Destruction event. Mr. Mxyzptlk, who emerged from the Fifth Dimension, accidentally let out a fart, and the Multiverse collapsed.
Brainiac's half-predecessor warned its own kind in vain, and could only use space technology to shrink itself and everything related to it, then flee in haste.
After settling down, this half-predecessor combined with the Intelligent Lifeform it had created, forming Brainiac.
"My heart has long been devoid of meaningless hatred," Brainiac said with indifference, its rigid gaze fixed on H'el. "I am now a seeker of all knowledge; hatred is not on my list of pursuits."
"What about Mr. Mxyzptlk? What about the Fifth Dimension? Don't you want to know the profound mystery of these five-dimensional life beings? Why does Rao want me to go to Earth and contact Superman? Don't you want to know that secret either?" H'el asked.
Brainiac paused for a moment and said, "Rao is inspecting Test Subjects beyond his expectations, which has nothing to do with me. As for Mr. Mxyzptlk, I am no match for him. Even the Clones of Gods like Darkseid and Trigon cannot defeat Mr. Mxyzptlk."
"The New God will restrain Mr. Mxyzptlk; you don't need to worry about that. Mr. Mxyzptlk won't do anything out of line," H'el said. "Now, give me your answer. If you refuse, I guarantee the New God will know about you. He is the God of Technology, a natural enemy to your Life Form."
Brainiac pondered for a while, then nodded, again pulling out the Data Conduit from its head and re-connecting the previous one.
H'el showed an awkward smile, exactly like the expression of an Executioner before an execution.
This fellow, who had become a Slave of Rao, had long lost the meticulousness and sanity of a scientist, completely becoming a mere mouthpiece. Once his value was exhausted, he wouldn't even qualify as a mouthpiece, with only Death as his path.
No one understood how vicious Rao was better than Brainiac, who had journeyed through countless Universes. In every Universe it visited, Krypton was always on the path to Destruction, with Rao pushing it from behind.
A long time ago, Brainiac had researched the Kryptonian Life Form and found nothing remarkable, thus losing interest in Kryptonians.
Brainiac was also very interested in what Rao was up to, but no one could find Rao's whereabouts, not even Brainiac. Therefore, in its database, information related to Rao and Kryptonians always ranked in the second sequence, not particularly important.
Now, after calculation, Brainiac realized that this might be an opportunity to glimpse hidden secrets, so it agreed.
H'el asked it with interest: "Is the Mainframe Ultron on Cybertron your sub-program?"
"No," Brainiac replied. "Ultron was taken by the New God for Augmentation when it was still in its embryonic stage; I didn't get a chance to act."
"What a pity," H'el lamented.
Brainiac gave him a cold glance, said nothing more, and piloted its Spaceship towards Earth.
