Chapter 654

Chapter 639: Duck Wings

New Krypton was an incredibly open and lively planet; Kara observed it with great interest for a long time before she was certain of this.

The residents she saw along the way were mainly Kryptonians (Mutants), and occasionally there were many tall Robots strutting leisurely through the streets.

For her, at 37 years old but with only 13 years of actual life experience, everything was unfamiliar and new. Kara held immense curiosity for all things.

Moreover, a 37-year-old Kryptonian was truly young... Kryptonians' Life Force was much higher than Earthlings', and their lifespan was naturally longer.

“Why are there so many Kryptonians here…” Kara was incredibly surprised, suppressing the excitement and joy in her heart.

She wore the House of El Battle Suit, showcasing her graceful figure, attracting many gazes along the way, but for now, no one approached her to chat.

No one questioned her identity either; even Ultron suddenly turned a blind eye, ignoring Kara, the intruder.

Otherwise, Kara would have been captured long ago. Even if her Potential and combat talent surpassed Base Form Superman, in the Cybertron System, she was nothing special; there were simply too many beings more powerful than her.

“…Damn it, I'll repeat myself! I am the greatest detective in the Cybertron System! There's no case in this world I can't solve…”

A rough, suppressed roar came, and a duck, one meter forty tall, was flapping its wings and cursing furiously.

This duck was plump, with glossy white feathers, and its entire body seemed to exude an Aura of wisdom.

Hmm, a wise duck, one meter forty tall...

Kara looked at this duck, thought of a certain food, and couldn't help but fall into contemplation.

A duck this big could last for a long time...

“Give up, without me, you have no future. Trust me, only by following me can you maximize your value; those common people don't understand you at all.”

A white-haired, elegant man gently patted the duck's shoulder, speaking earnestly.

The duck knocked his hand away and said, “Scram!”

“So you still won't agree?” Collector Tivan painfully covered his face, looking incredibly dejected.

“Only a fool would go back with you to be an exhibit!” the duck cursed.

Tivan looked sad: “You are my Collectible. I went through great lengths to pick you up from the Universe back then. Is this how you treat me?”

The duck sneered: “If you call knocking me out first and then tying me up and taking me back 'picking me up'.”

Tivan sighed, looking dejected: “None of my Collectibles want anything to do with me. Yelena is like that, and so are you. Howard the Duck, honestly, does being my mascot make you that miserable? Haven't I been generous enough to you? All the Demigods and God-Kings in the Universe know your name!”

Howard the Duck's veins bulged, his clenched duck wings trembling, seemingly wanting to lash out and give the shameless Tivan a good beating. But after a long assessment, he gave up.

Tivan was strong, very strong.

Howard the Duck had been with Tivan for a long time. Don't let this old geezer's seemingly easy-to-bully demeanor fool you — which was actually true — but that was just Tivan's way of self-preservation, and also due to his carefree personality.

But when he thought of the other Elders of the Universe, such as Grandmaster, The Gardener, and others, each of whom was a Level Seven Being, how could Tivan be far behind?

Crushing him with one hand was no problem at all; Howard the Duck was very self-aware of this.

“I am Howard the Duck from the Duck Dimension, the greatest detective! I'm not your damn Collectible, I'm free!”

Howard the Duck extended a duck wing, lit a cigar, and skillfully placed it on his flat, elongated duck bill.

Finally, the blond kid who had been observing coldly asked him: “Duck Dimension? Never heard of it.”

“I've heard of it; it's a very small Dimension where all the residents are ducks.”

“What?! All ducks? *Slurp~*”

Howard the Duck was furious and went up and kicked down the drooling Mutant.

It was fortunate that he was a Mutant; if it had been a Kryptonian with a Steel Body, Howard the Duck could have kicked until his duck leg was crippled and still wouldn't have moved a single hair on them.

“Don't get angry, John. Put your lighter away first; fighting in the street will get you beaten by the Enforcement Squad... So, Howard the Duck, do you want to join our team?”

Iceman Bobby stroked his chin, looking a bit troubled.

Pyro John sneered, looking down at the strange duck: “Then I ask you, what Level is your power?”

Howard the Duck's face changed, turning incredibly pale — don't ask why a duck can change its expression, he just can.

After a moment of hesitation, Howard the Duck extended an entire duck wing.

“Level Three?” Bobby counted the branches on the duck wing, a smile appearing on his face.

Howard the Duck looked hesitant. Hearing Tivan's sneering chuckle, he retracted one duck finger.

“Level Two?” Bobby frowned.

Howard the Duck lowered his head and slowly retracted another duck finger...

“Level One? Damn it, my eighty-year-old grandma could kick your ass!” John exploded in a rage.

“Nonsense, your grandma's on Earth and hasn't come back at all! Besides, I may not be strong, but my brain works well!” Howard the Duck declared righteously, puffing out his chest, his feathers full and shiny.

“*Slurp~*”

Howard the Duck kicked John down again.

“See? My poor Howard the Duck, you treat them as brothers, but they want to eat you... How dangerous the Outside World is! Why not come back with me and be a Collectible? I promise to give you the best... no, the second-best display case!”

Tivan looked pained, as if he was hemorrhaging money.

Bobby glanced at Tivan, then at Howard the Duck, deep in thought.

Scholarly Bobby recognized Tivan at a glance—the famous Collector, an Elder of the Universe, one of the oldest Beings in the Prime Universe.

However, Tivan had lived a very miserable life; all his wealth had been plundered by a villain named Tony, and his home had been torn down as well.

For years, Tivan had tirelessly searched for his Collectibles, hoping to persuade them to return voluntarily... only a fool would agree.

“We agree,” Bobby suddenly said.

“What? Are you crazy?” John dug at his ear, eyes wide. “What happened to not taking anyone below Level Three? Now we're even taking Level One. I'm pessimistic about our team's future.”

Howard the Duck was overjoyed, slapped Tivan on the head with a duck wing, then waddled over to stand beside Bobby, a fawning expression on his face. “You won't be disappointed; even I'm shocked by my own talent!”

Tivan rubbed his head, not angry, and gave Bobby a meaningful glance. Their eyes met briefly, then quickly moved away.

Omega Mutant... Hmph, Howard the Duck, that foolish duck, really ought to thank me. This is a terrifying Omega Level Mutant!

Tivan looked triumphant.

“Um... I also want to join your team.” A hesitant voice came, and the long-haired Kara instantly appeared beside them, stirring up a gust of wind.

John's eyes instantly went wide.

“I agree! Bobby, you have to help me, I don't have a girlfriend yet!” John was beside himself with excitement. Then, as if remembering something, he warned, “Oh, and you can't try to steal her from me!”
